@dizk8488 my point is the size and weight doesn't give them the same build. An inch and 5 pounds doesn't seem like it would change their body styles but look at point vs marner, Point looks a little stocky, where Marner has always looked slim, skinny, slender. How do these guys not know the names of the ACTIVE coaches 😂 calling Derek Lalonde Jeff Blashill and being so confident that they didn’t even feel the need to fact check…..these guys are too good
When you mentioned how nobody really talked about subtractions in Nashville this summer, I think a big move that wasnt really discussed at all was the loss of Ryan McDonagh. Not only as a stabilizing defensive presence, but to have a well respected vet who wore a letter blatently ask to be traded was a little bit of a red flag that went under the radar. I feel like for all of their insistance that Nashville isnt just a place for guys to retire, it kind of seems like it is. Also, regarding their "progression" to the mean, if they somehow progress to match their expected goals perfectly, is 15th in the league for offense good enough? Is that the standard there?
A shutout against the Bruins might legitimately never happen again. Also the NHL 25 coaches segment was gold. Don’t get me wrong they’re bad but I could still recognize most of them.
I’m one week into my Steve dangle podcast binge and heres how I would sum it up Adam: Jesse what do you think? I wanna throw it over to Jesse. I want Jesse’s opinion. I know Jesse will have something to say on this. Jesse, my love, what say you? Jesse: *something incredibly eloquent, witty, relevant, insightful and interesting said in a very soft and calm demeanour* Steve: M A R O N E!! WHAT!! NO BECAUSE I SAID-
Adam Wylde "It's not easy to play with good players." Every Leafs player that has ever played with Matthews, Willy or Marner "It's really easy to play with those guys!"
Thoughts on people saying Patches leaped into that hit? Hard to see on most replays but the view from the neutral zone shows the possibility of a Charge best I’m honestly undecided on it but 100% hate that the penalty is called after the player stays down
For the PP stat maybe it should be minutes of powerplay per goal. So bad teams would have a higher number (5-6 pp minutes per goal) better teams would have lower numbers
If you need any encouragement to drop Nuge, I dropped Heiskanen for Luke Schenn 😂 I've hated myself for it all week, but it seems to be paying off (I also have Makar, Fox, and Sanderson...)
As a fan of Liverpool in the premier league ⚽️ I can tell you that the English used to be proud that “nobody dives in our league!” Then about 15-20 years ago players realised the refs were so bad that diving worked most of the time -.- NHL has been going through the exact same thing the last 10 years
Facial mapping for videogames has been a thing for over a decade now, so I don't know why they don't just take a bunch of pictures of each player/coach and have them modeled by the game.
Knies - Mathews - Domi and a line with Marner could be with another shooter… but who could that be? I think you could put Marner with the 2nd line like Pacioretty - Tavares - Marner and let Willy have his own line… maybe something is in the air and Willy smelled it and said, nope, I want more ice time? Very speculative but this is just a fan puzzling with lines 😅
Honestly figured the 11 minute review debacle from the Avs game might have came up, the moment it happened the DNVR watch along chat, we were all screaming Seattle shot it in, it's a joke it took these paid pro's with all this tech, 11 minutes and 2 REVIEWS! To get it right.
At 21:40 all i can think is what if Mitch became third line centre and they try Austin not in the power play. Definitely something they would have to practice. Still always agree with Adam about last year. Max Domi and Austin were killing it . Replace bertuzzi with knies 👍. Done.
Professional hockey players, especially elite ones, should not be allowed to have months to start playing. I'm a construction plumber, when i start on a new site i get hours, not months, to start producing. I am not getting paid millions with access to training facilities year round.
Might be a controversial take. If as you say the refs are look at the outcome of a hit, making a 5 minute major call, and then calling for a review AND it is upheld, then the player who acted/is injured as a result of that hit and the ensuing the 5 minute penalty, that player needs to be removed by the league for evaluation. If the player is genuinely hurt, then its not a big deal as they should be looked after to ensure they are fit for play. If the player faked it, then they still need to go through the protocol to ensure they are fit for play which would likely curtail the diving.
They were down 1-0 for about 10 minutes against the Penguins back on Oct 12th, and won 4-2. So only the one game so far. (Yes, I went and looked at the box score for every game they’ve won.)
Knies is a great power forward like John LeClair was back in the day. Yes sign him to a 12 year contract. Oh yeah darn, that's illegal. Oh well 8 years will do.
On the Tanev hit and Rat boy coming in off the top turn buckle and headlocking him. If it was the other way and it was Domi coming in hot like that... guarantee 💯 he's getting an extra penalty and the Leafs wouldn't be on the PP.
19:18 you put whoever with Auston, he makes $13,2500,000 per season. He needs to be able to drive a line and make his linemates better. Disrespectful?? Dudes the captain now and with his league learing salary, if he is no longer a 50+ goal scorer he can adapt to play a 200 foot game and make his line better, the Leafs will be far better off in the long term.
