And that wind, right there, is the reason why we clear our yards for hurricanes of absolutely everything. That was just a normal windy day, can you imagine how much worse the wind will be in a hurricane. The stone and chair that went into your pool would have gone through your or your neighbor's windows instead. My husband always keeps a tidy garage because as soon as we know a hurricane is coming everything from the yard goes either in the pool or in the garage. Praying for another quiet hurricane season this year.

Sorry Amy, my second comment, I forgot about the deep frying question. Yes, I always bake my chicken wings first, then put them in the fryer to crisp them up. It saves so much time!!

Hi, Amy. When I make fried pickles, I coat the pickles in cornstarch/ flour mixture and shake the off, add to wet batter then dip in cornstarch/ panko mixture, let set for 10 to 15 then fry. Enjoy your positivity. Blessings to you all.

Using buttermilk will tenderize the legs of the meat, also you can put back in refrigerator before cooking to help crust stay on better.

For breading, I do the shake n bake method. Put the dry into a gallon bag and just shake a few pieces around at a time. Coats well and easy clean up. I guess you could the wet in a bag too but I think a bowl is easier for that. But try the dry in a ziploc. I don't even seal it. I just hold the top gathered up and give it a shake.

Last year for mother's Day my husband and kids got me a Mr.coffee iced coffee maker for a gift. I love drinking Iced coffee every morning. My husband would get mad when I pay larger cup of iced coffee every day. I would walk up the street to Starbucks for larger cup of iced coffee with sugar and half and half.

Amy, we used your idea of baking the sausage and scrambles eggs in the oven to make breakfast sandwiches, and my family loved 'em - I even toasted the English Muffins in there as well. We always shred our own cheese, no fillers and words I can't pronounce in the cheese and it melts way better as well.... ;)

Amy, for French Press best coffee, put your grounds in the bottom of the pot, once your water is near boiling pour about 8 oz over the grounds. Stir it so it becomes kind of a paste at the bottom and let that sit for a few minutes. Then come back and add your water to the pot/fill line. Put the top on and let it sit 5 minutes. Then press down slowly to make sure the grounds all stay out. This works! Then you can add creamer.

Amy, get an electric burner and just use your stock pot for deep frying. It a lot bigger pot. Just use a thermometer to check temperature. Your outdoor stainless table would be good to use for deep frying. It will save the chairs and bench and tiles from getting oil all over them.

Fry daddy is great for small batches of food. My thought would be looking into a bigger deep fryer. Not the one they use for turkeys, I think they are dangerous.

You can't cook the chicken before you bread it. You could bread it and then cook it and then put it in the fryer maybe. But I would think that would make the breading come off in the fryer.

Amy, welcome to the world of French pressed coffee! Use coarsely ground coffee if possible and put it into the Bodem first. Pour in your boiling water slowly then stir with a spoon. Cover and let sit for 10 minutes then slowly plunge. You want to pour slowly as well so you don't get too many coffee grounds that might slip past the filter. If you grind it too fine, it will be very silty. Enjoy your strong coffee!

Here's an idea: if you get a spare moment (ha ha, I know... what's that?), batter your pickles, flash freeze them flat on a cookie sheet, then once they're frozen solid, pop them into a resealable bag, and store them in the freezer. Then when you're jonesing for fried pickles, all you have to do is heat up the oil and pop them in!

Hi Amy, I am sure you already have this in the comments somewhere.. you can soak the chicken in buttermilk with a few drops of hot sauce and some of the seasonings of your choice.. then coat with flour ,cornstarch, and your seasonings.. dip back n forth twice and let the coating set on tray for a bit, then deep fry. The chicken will be tender from buttermilk soaking, and the chicken will be crunch from flour /cornstarch coating .. you can do various methods for veggies too this way ... but always let them set with the batter on for a bit ... you make yummy food .. God bless and keep the vlogs coming. We love them .. PS. the chimes are peaceful and endearing memories.. love them ❤

I’m thinking a BBQ mat underneath your ‘frying table” would prevent staining your patio. Also, you have that lovely pizza oven…imagine how delicious the pizza crust wrapped hot dogs would taste baked there! The little drumettes are part of the chicken wing. The other part is called the flat. You can buy them , but they are pricey. Usually Walmart sells a combo pack-flats and drumettes. Guess that’s why they’re expensive at restaurants 🤷‍♀️

You might want to invest in a larger deep fryer if you think you will continue to fry things, it would be more suited for a family size and make the process go much faster. The Fry Daddy is probably more for a couple or a college student, it is very small and makes small portions. Growing up, my Mom had a regular size deep fryer that she used to fry things like frozen french fries, corn dogs, etc.

Good Morning Amy!! I love my bread machine! I didnt think I would because I didnt think it was necessary but after getting one it freed up my small kitchen counter. I just use it to just mix the bread and then bake off in the oven I would love to see you bake some bread in your pizza oven I bet that would be delicious! Your fryer is too small. If you would par boil your chicken it would make the chicken all rubbery. I dont have a fry daddy anymore it was just too small. I use my dutch oven on the stove with oil about 3 inches deep. I understand you didnt like the grease smell in your home. You could also oven fry your chicken plenty of those recipes on the internet. I prefer the Americas Test Kitchen recipe. But most people want the grease taste that frying in oil gives you. But you gotta do what you gotta do. 😁😉 Have a great weekend! Thanks for sharing!

Hi, Watching from the Bronx NY
    - Yesterday I was asking if you had a preference for butter or margarine in certain recipes you are cooking & baking ? Or are they Interchangeable?
    - I LOVE the convenience of my bread machine aswell. I seem to be forever searching for a whole wheat, whole grain bread recipe for my bread machine. Do you have one by any chance?
    - You made a lot of YUMMY FOOD ! I will be making quite a few of your recipes.
    - Wow, I'm also going to try the coconut milk, blueberry syrup & coffee drink. I have been wanting for a long time to try a blueberry coffee drink. But, something in the coffee creamers leave a after taste I can do w/out.

Wait... Did you use a crochet hook on your orange? My thumbs hurt when i peel them. I know i can use a knife, but I have a 3 year old dancing at my feet most of the time.

Good morning. Everything looks great. When you were doing all that frying, all I could think about was when I would do fying, it felt like I was oozing oil through my pores. You mentioned something similar. I hope your Friday is fantastic and I will see ya tomorrow

I just purchased your cookbook and am so excited. Thank you for mentioning it as I had forgotten. I am a 3rd generation native from Lake County, FL but all of my family that is still there said the last 3 years have been just abnormal with the weather, including the snow in south FL. BUT, being stuck in the PNW for 7 years, Id still rather be home. I am a gardener so being used to growing outdoors year round was always a blessing I took for granted until I came up here. My kids love for me to make appetizer type foods for weekends. I have to hide chips and snacks or a month's worth will be gone in a weekend

Love your wind chimes. I have hearing issues but I have hearing aids to help. You listen to your chimes and ENJOY! Maybe others need aides as well, you’d be surprised what sounds you miss. Nature is beautiful!

Thank you Amy for this video and for all your guidance. Your life is do different than ours in cold/wet Wales. As I get older I love learning how different countries live their life. Have a blessed weekend.
