Hey man I’ve got the ehx 5mm that I use for home. Same use case with a boss gx 100 going into a 1x12 greenback cab. much more usable at home volumes. Great little amps.
Yup. It’s as clean as it gets. No filters. No effects. Just a straight flat signal. Same signal you would get when you plug into the effects loop of a standard guitar amp.
I own a Spark and love it. I will say from experience, solid state amps compared to tube amps don’t work that great in a live setting with a good drummer playing. My friend just bought one watching your video and is impressed.
I just got this along with a Synergy 1x system and the ENGL Savage module. What I don't like about this is that there is no off switch. I would have gladly paid another $20 for that. This thing is really loud. Like, incredibly loud. Next thing I need is a noise gate.
Absolutely. Check out this video where I use the 44 Magnum hooked to a 4x12 cab and playing along with my band, which has two guitar players btw. Yes it’ll definitely hold up well with a full band. th-cam.com/video/aa2PAc5x2Ww/w-d-xo.htmlsi=NGQZmbe40Elz7AxN
Thanks! The 44 Magnum is simply just a straight line signal. If you want to add or increase sustain in your sound, then that pretty much comes from your pickups and additional effects units you run into the pedal.
Wait, so if you have this or similar pedal, you dont need a head? I use all stomp boxes including a JHS preamp and EQ in fx loop. So if I get this, I only need my cab???
@@RickordProductions dam ok, someone else recommended to get this as a back up in case my tube head blew out so I’d still want one for at least that. What 3 power amp pedals besides this one do recommend?
@@XxStonedImmaculatexX This one is 44 watts and has a lot of punch and volume. It runs for about $150...maybe less. There are others that are a little pricier. Seymour Duncan has a $799 and $299 power amp. You can keep your tubed heads if you like. It's always good to have extra gear and the power amp pedal makes a good backup as well. I was just thinking of getting another 44 Magnum as a second backup.
@@shanec4441 that’s unfortunate but yeah it’s simply a power amp. It has no tone shaping capabilities and no EQ and also it has no reverb or delay. Just a straight signal.
When you connect it to your FX Processor, do you run from the main out or amp out to the .44, or do run the guitar to the .44 and then into your FX Processor?
It's possible. Give it a shot. The 44 Magnum produces the same signal as your FX loop. It's basically a straight signal with no preamp. Being your tube amp has the preamp I believe running it from the line out would work considering it would do the same job if you ran a signal from the line out to another guitar amp. Does that make sense?
@@Egr3gious i suppose it would work if the 44mag received signal from the effect loop output? The amp wouldn't be effected.. Eventually im gunna buy 1 to try it.
@@whirlwindjml Yeah that would probably work in regards to getting it a signal. I wonder if that would keep the power section from getting signal/activated? and maybe negate the need for a load - I'm not sure. I really only know enough to keep me from breaking gear. I got a Victory V4 preamp. This is exactly what I need to push air! Thanx bro!
I've seen someone using this pedal and the spark amp running it through a 2x12 cab.
Haha gee I wonder who that would be? Lol

Awesome Jackson buddy.
I like that review better than almost all of the reviews I've been watching all day good job 😃
D you testet Harley benton 100wat?
Does it overheat?
I haven’t experienced any overheating after a few hours of use.
So, without a preamp does it sound dull as a clean tone??
Yup. It’s as clean as it gets. No filters. No effects. Just a straight flat signal. Same signal you would get when you plug into the effects loop of a standard guitar amp.
That’s why you use a preamp and eq pedal.
I own a Spark and love it. I will say from experience, solid state amps compared to tube amps don’t work that great in a live setting with a good drummer playing. My friend just bought one watching your video and is impressed.
Does it need any special cord from the pedal to the speaker cab?
Yes your amp to cabinet cable. Don’t use a guitar cable. It may damage the power amp or your cab.

@@RickordProductions D'oh me. Lol. That's right it's just a Poweramp. It's all about what you plug into it, and the speaker. Thank you very much
44 watts. Wow. Makes me wonder if it sucks a 9V dry in no time hehe
Doesnt use a battery. High current supply only

That is correct. I sold all my head units and all I use is the 44 Magnum as my power amp. I just connect my pedal board to it.

It's basically an amp without the preamp correct??

@@RickordProductions many guys are misleading folks by stating this device has a preamp built in. It would be a much bigger box with a preamp.

It shouldn't. Mine never did when the dirt pedals were off. Maybe it was the settings in your preamp.
