Japanese Thomas merch is just like Godzilla merch: they always tend to keep it accurate to the original design unlike the US that just makes a decorated chassie and calls it a day

The Thomas and Friends trains like the ones back in the live action TV shows looks really amazing and outstanding it will be very cool to have those in my collection I'm sure some people on TH-cam have used these Thomas Train models for special live action remake episodes that will be really awesome.

N Scale in Japan is 1/150 whereas in US it is 1/160, it has to do with real-life rail width, in Japan rails are spaced 3 feet 6 inches apart, in the US it is 4 feet 8.5 inches. So they appear bigger cause they are scaled to 1/150th as Tomix is used to that scale for Japanese trains to fit the 9-millimeter distance between the N scale standard size track. rails.

Also, the Tomix Milk and Tar Tankers are planned to be released but are cancelled for unknown reason as well.

There could actually be a prototype Gordon model out there because think of it, many successful brands always have products that were planned but never released. Like the Ertl Tophat from tugs, for years it was believed that it was a hoax but until the prototype of it was found last year. So there could be a prototype Tomix Gordon out there somewhere, we’ll never find out for sure.

As someone who collect both Bachmann and Tomix thomas I recently got the 2016 version with CGI face for a discount rate last christmas. I personally prefer the pre-2012 set with classic series style faces over the cgi era they just look better IMHO.

I have the entire TOMIX range myself. I wish I got an Mail van for Percy but they are expensive and hard to find, I did however manage to get 2 extra trucks online with a log load that came from a set

Here is a bit of an odd question
How close to owning 100% of the released TOMIX Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends sets and engines are you? If you 100% complete it, can you make a layout that has all track, locations, engines (minus variations) and rolling stock put together to make a neat little island of sodor?
