- Uncle Leo's Garage Ep2 - This is my 2nd video from my visit to Uncle Leo's in South Melbourne and this time we also get to look at Leo's own collection of rare and interesting cars, if not widely loved cars.
Featuring an early 1970s Ford Galaxie, a six seater, bench seat column shifter Ford Falcon Fairmont ESP (European Sports Pack lookalike) Leo has restored himself, 1971 Chrysler VG Valiant two door, 1969 Chrysler VF Valiant, Regal 770, 1971 Holden HG Brougham, 1968 Holden Brougham, Ford Falcon XE ute with Sierra Tan trim and Ford XB Falcon.
Twice weekly visits to classic auto workshops featuring cars from the veteran to RADwood eras & including car restoration, rebuilds, repairs and restomods to anything from Aussie V8s, American muscle cars, Euro exotics, JDM, your coveted everyday runabout and more. If it's built before 1999, there's every chance I'll film it.
My name is Dave and I simply l love old cars and visiting workshops to chat to the people working on them. Added to that, I devour car content on youtube so I thought I'd join in and make some myself.
Hopefully you might like to come along for the journey as well.

Another great video! All gorgeous cars, but those Holden Broughams…❤
The Brougham wheelbase was no longer than the basic sedans, GMH only added the extra inches to the Broughams boot, to make it look more exclusive, this was a cheaper method than Ford Fairlanes longer wheelbase. The public weren't fooled and bought Fairlanes instead !
When the new Statesman came out, it was built on the HQ wagons longer wheelbase, thus, sales improved.
Back soon to see Leo. He promises to have a few more interesting cars to show me.
The hk Brougham came out in 1968 with a 307 chev engine only, and had a ridiculous long speedo, the Hg 70,71 Ht 69,70 models had round instrument clusters. The HG had a number of engine options 186 253 308 and 350 chev. The HT Brougham either had a 307 or 308 engine, all Broughams had the same wheelbase as the Kingswood or premier, they just stretched the boot out 8 inches. The hq statesman was built on the station wagon chassis hense they had more room
That ESP mockup looks good👍. I see a ZL in the background too
I love it. In the flesh it’s even better.
Brougham's don't get enough love.
Must be the woefully inadequate rear leg space.
Great Video !
Thanks
❤the brougham
Very interesting, as I have next to zero knowledge about these Aussie classics: I had no idea what the Holden Brougham was!
As you could probably tell. Neither did I. As you might’ve heard, I was angling to find out what crossover there was from the US Brougham. I’ll dig deeper on my next visit.
Brougham were a precursor to the Holden Statesman in either DeVille or higher spec Caprice.
And I'm a true Blue Ford guy !😉😊
Hi mate, I have a ‘71 LTD coupe like that one, mines a 429. I have hinges and a solid bonnet if you need them. If you want a stock grille for a ‘72 I have them too. Great video.
I’ll pass it on to Leo. Thanks
