The recap of Michigan State blowing a 17-point lead to Notre Dame spanned more than 17 minutes and two segments on 97.1 The Ticket. Even his co-host Terry Foster couldn't get him to slow down as Mike lost most of his voice and dropped a handful of hilarious one-liners about the MSU players and coaches. Some of the best ones includ calling for H.R. Pufnstuf and Teddy Ruxpin to replace defensive coordinator Chris Smeland and flabbergasted by the decision to run Drew Stanton in the option in Hurricane Katrina, hoarsely demanding that the team "make plays" and saying how they "choked on applesauce".

Even though I'm a hardcore Michigan fan, I've always enjoyed listening to Valenti & Foster (now just Valenti; Terry Foster retired). Valenti is always fair regardless of whichever team from whatever sport he's talking about. Knowledgeable and funny dude.

I'm a chick from Atlanta, GA who doesn't know jack about Michigan sports teams but I instantly became a fan of Mike and Terry when this went viral in 2006. I shared it with friends and we'd crack each other up with lines from Mike's rant for years afterward.

I was at that game and I remember what he's talking about. It was devastating at the time, but in hindsight I can't complain too much since it helped us get Dantonio.

I was at this game in the downpour at Spartan stadium and mike is 100% accurate.
The play calls blew my mind.

Always laughed at Valenti's delivery but in retrospect MSU fans went from Nick Saban -> Bobby Williams -> John L Smith so yeah, this hits different in hindsight 🤝😫🙏
It was worse because after Saben left for LSU back in 1999 I was hoping We would Promote Mark Dantonio to HC then Bobby Williams because we all knew it was Saban making the Offensive Calls not Williams and and it was proven after Jim Tressel hired him Dantonio at Ohio State after the 2000 season and again when Dantonio got the Cincinnati job in 2005 I almost gave up on this program after We hired Smith blew that one game to Michigan in 2005 and this game made it worse after this game, once Dantonio Came Back after this season I finally restored faith in this program
