I believe you but you might not believe me when I say you guys(Spartans fans) got the best of John L. Smith as a coach. By that I mean by the time he got to our program Arkansas he forgot how to coach altogether. He must have had some kind of health issue & i am NOT trying to be mean at all because the man was a extreme goofball silly every second he was here leading our program. We would have a crushing defeat seemingly every week & goofy John L Smith would start his press conference cracking jokes & laughing. I’ve never seen anything like it in major sports before. Oh and as for Valenti’s rant well that was us EVERY damn week in a rage at Smith & not just his coaching decisions but his obvious lack of taking the job seriously. As Smith was leaving arkansas it was revealed Smith had filed for bankruptcy & was over 1 million dollars in debt. Which is very unusual for coaches, just goes to show his judgement and thinking in life.
Beyond that Notre Dame game, the Halloween Michigan loss is right there. While my kids were at the house doors getting candy, I was creepering through living room windows watching the game.

To be fair though, how do you condense 18 minutes of unmitigated anguish into a 5 second sound byte to then base your entire opinion of said rant on? Make him listen to some of the actual points Mike was making during said rant and see what his answers are.
John L Smith went 1-11 in bowls was well under .500 in almost every team he coached lol. Blew leads and even went 0-10 coaching kentucky state lmfao dude is a BUM

From a Michigan Man, the rant was absolutely true and Mike's points were legitimate and were hard to argue with. Also, it's nice that he has scaled back his super-fandom in recent years because it makes the show much more listenable.
He wasnt wrong in his rant, John L's teams constantly blew leads. Then when he was interm at Arkansas they blew a 28-7 lead to Louisiana Monroe. Must have been real frustrating at the time.
Lions just beat Raiders 2 days ago and are 6-2 going into their bye week. Quinn-Tricia seems like 10 years ago. God is smiling down on the Detroit Lions!
