At the start of this scenario the other 3 loco's are all set correctly. From the lead loco:- 1) On the wall panel behind the drivers seat set 'Distributed Power' switch to ON (the Radio switch is already set in all locos), 2) On the drivers Integrated Function Display press the buttons to turn the air brakes to 'Cut IN' and 'Lead' and 'Save Changes' . 3) On the panel to the left of the seat set the 'Generator Field' switch to ON. 4) Then on the overhead drivers radio unit set the 'Banking COMM' switch to ON. The train is now ready to go . Mover Reverser to Forward, Automatic Brake to Release, Independent Brake to Bail Off and then Release (the BC pressure will reduce to zero), and set the Power Handle to 2. The train will then start '"stretching" the train and taking up the slack between the cars, and after about 30 seconds will start to move off and pick up speed. Turn the windscreen wipers on and the lights as appropriate. Note: Thanks to fhhk2008 for the tip on using Ctrl - and Ctrl = to move between the engineers seats. Ctrl - for moving between leading unit of each pair and then Ctrl = for moving between the lead/trail unit of each pair. Saves a lot of time walking up down the tracks and climbing in and out of locos !!!!

I was just thinking that too, there is no way that this running is needed, I cant imagine you had to go through all that to set up a train this game would be very unpopular if it was like that.

      @MG-zb1ft 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I've never needed to leg it half a mile to the end of the train. All set up from the lead loco. To check its working use the external camera and look through the cab window of the trailing loco. You should see the controls copy what the lead loco does.

@@MG-zb1ft I also noticed that the wheel would slip when I throttle the rear locomotives. Problem a lot of people and myself is the lack of engine noise from the rear locomotives which is probably a glitch.

No need to walk along track, use Ctrl - or Ctrl = (between 0 and \ key) to change seat of loco. but need to press key 9 to map view to know your position. This is too bad that no tutorial to run these kind of consist!

BTW you can use the 'Tail camera' to quickly jump to the back and "ask" the other engineer to uncouple the engines for you (click on the lever).
That way you won't get those messages.
Wish there was a 'Jump to rear engine' camera. You can move some of the controls from the window, but not many of the important ones. So if there was a camera that would place you in the eyes of the rear engineer that would be a huge improvement.

@@FluffyAdmiral cant remember, but i kept it on full power and was able to get to 120km h or close to that at one point, without a single care about speed limits. I usually drive the trains there like i drive cars on the Nordschleife, only caring about not derailing. Btw, it didnt let me go to the next scenario, so i had to do it all over again, and managed to do it on something like 73min or something like that. Driving the helping locomotives back to Cumberland took me like a bit over 20min 😂 sometimes driving over 180km h downhill and using the independent brake to brake at the right time more easily since the auto brake takes a bit of time to pressurize. Driving these things like a race car is actually a lot of fun

@@FluffyAdmiral today i tried something really nice: i did a time attack run on Sand Patch, from Rockwood Main West n°2 to Cumberland Receiving Yard Track 3 as fast as i could and was able to finish it in 30min 20s, using the first minute to set up the locomotive and make a good launch. For this, i used two SD40-2 attached to eachother and OMG some turns are scary to take fast 😂 there was one that i took at a tiny bit over 200km h and the camera almost touched the controls and sometimes, on left turns, even went a bit through the window

Since, I don't have access to console versions of the game, I can't really guarantee those methods will fully work, although they technically should as differences between PC and console editions should not be that big. You can double check if you haven't missed anything. If that still doesn't work, maybe try searching for some TSW2 wiki if there are any tips on how to set-up this consist on consoles.

Xbox here too. Whenever I’ve been stuck (due to the absolute terrible job done of tutorials in these games) I always follow admirals vids and they work perfectly for me so maybe you’re missing a step? Sometimes it just requires patience and waiting for brakes to release etc

Thank you for this beautiful video and I have to go to Hyndman in the middle of snow with 2 + 2 locomotives but I can't start so drive. Can you please write me clearly the configurations for each locomotive because I followed your video and I still can't. Thank you very much in advance. I play tsw2 on xbox series x. Samir

For each locomotive settings are as follows:
Starting from the rear of the train to make it easier for everyone:
4th loco - Set up as trail
      Engine run: off
      Generator field: off
      Fuel pump: off
      Automatic brake: Handle off
      Airbrake setup: Cut-out, Trail
      Radio fuse: off
      Distributed power fuse: off
3rd loco - Set up as lead
      Engine run: on
      Generator field: on
      Fuel pump: on
      Automatic brake: Handle off
      Airbrake setup: Cut-in, lead
      Distributed power fuse: on
      Radio fuse: on
2nd loco - Set up as trail
      Engine run: off
      Generator field: off
      Fuel pump: off
      Automatic brake: handle off
      Airbrake setup: Cut-out, trail
      Radio fuse: off
      Distributed power fuse: off
1st loco - Set up as lead
      Engine run: on
      Generator field: on
      Fuel pump: on
      Airbrake setup: Cut-in, Lead
      Distributed power fuse: on
      Radio fuse: on
When you finish setting everything up, you must turn on BankingCOMM (button on the radio) in front loco in order for everything to work. Good luck and I hope it will help.
