      All of those are great songs and well worth reacting to. But I'd really suggest a foray into their alter-ego band Band-Maiko. Their 2 songs as Band-Maiko are stellar, and emblematic of the creativity and boldness that this band can offer.

    This song was originally meant to be an instrumental but they liked it so much that they asked Miku to write lyrics for it. Some people aren't fond of all the "la, la, la's" but with some of their songs they like to have a section, due to the language barrier, where they can get the crowd involved & to be able to sing along.

      You are everywhere but your doing a great job. I wish you would help promote BRATS they have a new album and I think REI is still only 18years old. She's done a lot she was one of the girls in LADY BABY . Check out the songs MRS DOWNER and NO MORE NO MORE. Also MUTANT MONSTER try NO WAY from the Hong Kong Rocks concert and watch her dance with the bass or the video for KAMISAMA. BRIDEAR have a couple of new songs IGNITE is quite good. Your challenge should you accept it is to bring these bands to prominence. Good luck.

    This is my usual goto for introducing Band-Maid to people. This brings a lot together. It shows what a popular rock song should sound like. The vocals are awesome, but you don't need to know what she is actually saying. The band is really having a good time and you can feel it. If rock was more like this I feel rock would not be so dead in the west.

    To kinda answer you from an earlier react, Japan still teaches the arts in school, music, dance, drawing, etc. (Korea also). Talent is recognized early and there is a system/infrastructure to nurture that talent. MISA and Akane are from the Tokyo School of Music, Kanami continued with her music while getting degrees in Economics and Marketing. Miku went through the Jpop system unsuccessfully. Saiki as a girl went with her Mother to Karaoke bars where she would sing at 14 she began formal vocal training. Saiki was a backup singer and dancer before Band-Maid.

    “Moratorium” Rocks, play the “spot the influences game” if you haven’t recorded it yet...
    If you get to a week of Lovebites, start at their beginning, 2017’s “Don’t Bite the Dust” th-cam.com/video/Zx9KPfvMVjY/w-d-xo.html
    Know that MVs are called PVs (promotional vids) in Japan, often released only as short versions, as opposed to MVs on a for-sale dvd... 😉
    BandMaid’s first vid is very cool too. Unlike the past 3albums, they didn’t write the first few, but it’s still a great intro for a band, and it going viral a couple years later saved them from breaking up. “Thrill” th-cam.com/video/Uds7g3M-4lQ/w-d-xo.html

    @gZcA if you are looking for an absurd guitar solo and Akane as a locomotive, you have to listen Rinne
    I saw them live, and they were truly crazy a divine power. they really have fun when they play and transmit it to the public, the result is a great emotional state, as I have not felt since the early 80s with super rock bands, they are definitely the best rock band today, especially live. live they do things that are truly incredible, the intro to the songs also jazz-rock that makes the hair stand up, Akane is crazy live, deadlifts and truly incredible and original passages, and a drum solo from out of your mind (I don't understand why there aren't a video of Akane drum solo)

Their catalogue is well worth checking out even if you don't make vids on it (imo, it shows a surprising degree of versatility and creativity for such a youngish band).

      yup i know where you are coming from on this. i discovered band maid in 2016 with real existence and i just love this band. i have many maid songs on my PLAY list. ha.ha. but this song is actually not one of my favorites either-instrumentally great but the chorus just lacks something for me say compared to dice or shake that or many others .one of my favorite in my top 5 or 10 is called key from the first cd not on youtube but many fans aren't familiar with it which is too bad. it was not written by them but the songwriter seems to have captured the sound band maid was going for.link here . the lower photo of kanami has the play button on it.just in case you never heard it.japaneseonestoplyrics.blogspot.com/2017/11/band-maid-key-lyrics-and-translation.html

      @@thedocofrock1890 Never heard it before and thank you for sharing. Interesting that this song was not written by them and is such an early song. It def has a BM feel to it, quite melodic and "complex" - lots of sound variety. I'm sure the girls (Kanami) were developing their writing/composition skills, and performing new songs written by pros no doubt helped them on their way. From what I can tell, Kanami is the primary musical genius behind the band's sound. The others, esp Misa, contribute heavily to the arrangement of their particular instruments, but I think it's Kanami that is the primary creative force. Is this correct?

      @@thedocofrock1890 Thanks again for sharing. Again, that song had the BM feel to it. Great song, a little sad that BM didn't write it lol. When I discovered this band a couple weeks ago, I promptly bought up all their albums on Google Play, but apparently only the last 3 in their discography is available (at least for us here in the USA). Nice to listen to some surprisingly good stuff from their first album, and to hear their growth as a band since that early stuff.
      I've noticed that a lot of the more dynamic bands out there are typically comprised of a happy collision of unbelievably gifted musicians that push each other to next level stuff - often driven by one monster creative talent. Seems Kanami occupies that latter role in BM.

    • @panorama4526
      @panorama4526 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The label works in the band´s interest. They make a living playing music and selling it. Right now concerts and travels are postponed, the income is generated only by selling the new dvd. It´s short sighted to think the record company and the band are two different parties. When you release material that you do not own, you are stealing from the artists.
      Would you like to work for nothing, and someone else is making money with your hard work?

      @@panorama4526 "When you release material that you do not own, you are stealing from the artists."
      It's a baseless belief, which was actually refuted many times by scientific research. Videos and reactions on TH-cam in fact serve as advertisements. The management should have actually paid to the people who advertise the band in this way.

    • @panorama4526
      @panorama4526 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can prove anything with „scientific research“ when you know what the outcome should be to serve a purpose.
      Band Maid have their own youtube channel, where they release what they think is appropriate. They have the right to do that.
      No one else has. If you do so, you violate the artist´s copyright. I think there is no dispute about that. And record companies know very good the difference between PR and stealing.
      There are already too many people around who are ready to take from anyone, but have nothing to offer themselves. Band Maid deserves to be paid for their effort and talent.

    • @VladimirChupin
      @VladimirChupin 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@panorama4526 Of course any artist deservers to be paid for his or her work. But obscurity does not promote it. People who react to the copyrighted material on TH-cam, don't get anything from it. All the revenue goes to the song owner. Therefore, the more you distribute BAND-MAID videos, the more money BAND-MAID gets.

    • @RevStickleback
      @RevStickleback 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@VladimirChupin How many views/ad clicks would you need to match the $50 or so that a Blu-ray costs? Looking online is inconclusive, but averaging out, it looks like 1 million views gets you about $20,000, or the same as 400 Blu-rays. They sold 5000 blu-rays of their Shibuya Cube show in the first week. The fact is that the blu-ray is not cheap, especially with postage from Japan to consider, and it's clear a fair number wouldn't bother buying it if it was all there for free on TH-cam.
      If the band/management thought they'd make more money by having each song in their show available on TH-cam, they'd probably put them up on TH-cam.
      There are (or at least were) dozens of live clips from the Zepp and Studio Coast shows. They don't need to have most of the Shibuya Cube show up as well to promote the band.
