- We're back! Today we're checking out Unlucky Morpheus and their song Dignity of Spirit. It's an epic rock song with plenty to break down. Following the song, Matt gives me a guitar lesson as we discuss chords that are used in this very song. Wicked cool!

Before Unlucky Morpheus wrote original music they were a cover band based on the Japanese indie video game series called "Touhou". They did several albums with music based on those games. The song from this video is based on a song from Touhou 7 (I believe) called "Border of Life". It is one of the more famous songs from these games. There are several fan covers all over TH-cam of this song.
This song is stems from a niche video game project called "Touhou" project. Yeah, this band started as a otaku gamer cover metal band. And the song is related to a portion of game stage. To borrow a redditor's post on this song. This song is a rearrangement of 幽雅に咲かせ, 墨染の桜(Bloom Gracefully, Ink-Dyed Cherry Blossoms) form the Touhou Project game “東方妖々夢~Perfect Cherry Blossom”, as the battle theme of Saigyouji Yuyuko. Yuyuko is a ghost who is in charge of the nether world, with the ability to control death. Cherry blossom trees filled her garden, but the great cherry blossom at the center has never bloomed for a millennia.
As you can guess, many of the songs by Unlucky Morpheus are very poetic. They use some pretty classical (Japanese) words and images as you can imagine from a band that makes songs based on a games that deals with knights, battles, magic, vampires, death, spirits, etc. They are an amazing band.

The band has as the main members the four members of DOLL$BOXX (with Fuki). All female rock/pop/metal band. Amazing talent as well.
It's nice how an "otaku" band like Unlucky Morpheus is amazing :D
You need to see Galneryus. Every guitarist must witness the godliness that is Syu, and the rest of the band is just as ridiculous (their previous drummer was succeeded by Fumiya of Unlucky Morpheus, which gives you an idea of what is expected). What he does on a guitar is simply not human. The songs you need to see are Raise My Sword, Destiny (Live), Force Of Courage (Live), & Angel Of Salvation (Live)

@@TimotatoReacts Raise My Sword & Destiny are reasonable length songs (8 minutes or less). Angel Of Salvation & Force Of Courage are both 14+ minute epics.

Fuki's other band is called Light Bringer. Went hiatus, maybe due to Fuki want to focus on Unlucky Morpheus.

the song starts at 1:30. It's interesting to compare and understand how they arranged it. Also, Fuki is cosplaying the final boss's outfit from the same game.

Yesterday Shiren gave the order to takedown all the live videos that were published by TH-cam users... including my 15 videos. My channel was deleted thanks to that....It was very frustrating. I just wanted to share his music with the rest of the world, not get famous or make money.

We actually attempted to react to them for our first video but it was blocked by their label. Apparently their label is extremely harsh with the blocking, which is understandable, so we'll need to ensure it's a song we can post! 👍
This is a very long rock song that sounds quite short.
