These are great projects! I wonder if doing a facing for the hole & slot before the pieces are sewn together would be an option to avoid binding in such a small area? Wonderful tutorial heading into the holiday season. Thank you.
OK, I know it's not relevant to the video, but that is a *gorgeous* pincushion! I'm presuming you made it yourself? Excellent projects here, and just in time for holiday gift giving. The bowl cover is one of the nicest I've seen; using a polyeurethane fabric makes a lot of sense, and you've got a nice, easy method for encasing the elastic. The unsponges - what a great way to use up scraps, and more economical than buying sponges. Just might have to make a few of those; I've got a polyesther remnant that I bought by mistake (thought it was cotton, d'oh!) which would be good for these. The placemats are my favorite for sure, although I would back the fabrics with Pellon SF 101 or similar before stitching, just to give it some body (I tend to use quilting cotton for everything, and it needs that little bit of extra support to keep it from being too flimsy in a project like this - as I'm sure you know, LOL).

I think it's possible. Good idea💡 Do let us know if you decide to do that.
