i havent cried in like 20 years until I started watching OP, you guys just basically started and will run into way more emotional beats. Oda knows how to make people feel things. I say it everywhere, OP is greatest piece of fiction ever. Glad to see things through your guys' perspective.
Ron, i just want to thank you, very much for opening up to us about your past, because you didnt need to, didnt have to, werent forced to, but chose to, and it really spoke to me. The conversations you both have sometimes are SO important for so many people to here, and thats what makes you guys such an amazing channel. To you and Michelle, thank you for everything
dude, don't worry. One Piece will teach you there's no shame in crying and feeling things. Real men don't cry unless they cry like real men. I understood your reaction and if you don't want to talk about it, no problem, but know that there is no shame in feeling, letting other people know what are you feeling, and showing you have a side that is not visible. I'm glad you support each other. I'm glad the algo threw me here. I'm glad I can keep watching your reaction to specially this saga, knowing what chords did touch inside you. Send you both a huge hug from a far away country. Keep on keeping on.
@@NoNameNeeded-u3rthen they simply did not understand it or did not pay attention we have our life we have different experience and like the dude on the right it hits even harder when it has happened to you it makes the scene more impactful
I appreciate you opening up at the start of the video. It was not required of you. One Piece is "one of those" that has helped me be able to release emotions. I was having a hard time channeling my emotions and controlling them before.
One Piece makes me cry so much, its the best. When you start rewatching the series again, you'll cry even more. Some of the saddest parts haven't even made it into the anime yet. Soon...
5:08 damn that must've been unimaginably painful I can't blame you for not wanting to dwell in the past like it already happened we have no power to change the past.
Ron, I feel you about your first eleven minutes. I have a terrible relationship with my sister, who is eight years younger than me. I regret so much about my decisions that I could have done differently. I fought with my sister over such unimportant stuff. I just wish I could have done things differently to save this relationship. I think about it daily and One Piece made me think about it even deeper. I can't describe how terrible I feel about it. I was a horrible older brother. I wish I had the brains and the experience just a bit earlier.
damn, never expected that back story, less surfacing as a result of our crew fighting but I guess that's One Piece, for all its wackiness and absurdities it's a really grounded in its relationships, mistakes and burdens that every carries. I hope everything turn out for the better for you guys and your families. I like to think that if we think about other people and everything they may have gone through life and how it may have affected them, accepting that they can act differently, wrong or not, because of their experiences, we can then start strengthening our ties. ALSO, 10k for AC is crazy, that's worse than everything else /s :P Love your content keep it up, this and the next arc are the best of One Piece.
The fact that One Piece was the first anime that make me cry... I am watching Naruto, DBZ, Slam Dunk, some OGs, but when I watched that scene... Damn, this anime was something... I thought One Piece was just an adventure. Saving people. Partying after defeating villains... But, that one scene... Plus the twists... From that year/ day... One Piece became my favorite anime. P.S. There are some romance animes that made me cry too... (It was romance!) However, crying for some One Piece scenes hit different.
"Are you guys all going through puberty, hurting everyone across your path?!'' Thank you Oda for writing this sentence. One of the sentence that I use in my life when dealing violent stupid people.
I loved this opening. I want to admit I have gone to prison a few times and fought with my little brother. One day in prison I got a letter that he self deleted and he said it's because I wasn't there to help him. Life is too short. Maybe just try to sit down and talk with him and see how it goes. It's worth a try
Loved the beginning of the video and hearing that you talked after turning off the camera last time. I didn't expect that 10 minute talk at all, but I listened to it whole and am glad you did give us this perspective of you two. Makes me super happy to see that you can actually deepen your relationship through this thing that is your Job. Also Ron, you're incredible really, thanks for opening up about your past without even needing too from one big brother to another. There's no shame in crying and showing emotions EVER! that goes for all emotions btw, showing anger, passion, frustration, sadness it's all part of us and we should never abandon one of these sides. We need to have these emotions as humans in order to grow from them, but YES I do agree with you Ron that everyone probably has different triggerpoints to activate those emotions and also different thresholds of what or how many emotions one can hold back and how they deal with the situation when it all crumbles. You guys are an amazing couple and also an amazing reaction channel ty for doing this❤
I don't remember crying watching anything but one piece,in one piece I teared up in a lot of scenes and stories and Ussop vs Luffy is just the start,I think a LOT of people did too.
Unpack and heal where you can with one piece - you don't realise until you've been suckered in, but one piece really keeps it real and the writing and character development takes you to a real place - and you've definitely been through a lot in life, so there is nothing wrong with unbottling the feels - hopefully it'll help you! I think you'll both love this and the next arc! ❤
personally, i enjoy watching reactions to OP because i get to tear up again at key moments... and that's cathartic af with and without the reactors doing so.
I agree that somethings are good being left alone and not rehashed when there is no resolution or benefit to it. I've been there and done that where I was told that if I open up and talk about things, to people who claimed to support me, that its better for me. Nope. it only confirmed that that was a mistake for me. Because it enabled me to dwell on it for a long time until I got sick of it or worse, until people got sick of me talking about it. then I just feel like I was stupid to allow myself to be vulnerable to those people because it easy for them to say that they are here for you if you need someone to talk to but with people's short attention spans nowadays, they get bored and annoyed of hearing you vent or whine about your trauma. they just want you to get over it but healing doesn't work that way. you don't just get over it right after you've told somebody. the reality is, that it takes time and most people are not patient enough to wait for you to go at your own pace. you also learn who your real friends are at those times and that's why I would say sometimes talking about things really can make it worse. the therapists aren't always right. everyone deals with trauma differently.
Pretty sure Jim Carrey is the reference for Bon Clay and also Ace Ventura for Franky which played by Jim Carrey. Idk it's intentional or not giving them same VA is definitely the best decision ever.
I have never cried at the Ussopp and Luffy fight. It's just not my trauma or memory triggering. I do cry plenty of other times though and some of it has to do with past memories so I totally get this. One Piece brings out the feels. Not just universal feelings it has those. But the back stories and story itself is so varied it triggers memories in all people I would think. Thanks for sharing Ron. 😊
whats interesting that you can really argue from both sides and in the end nobody was right and a good captain wouldn't have had that argument, wouldn't have had the tension build up, wouldn't have let himself get triggered etc.
in my whole life, crying for a story, is One piece, doreamon stand by me and deep sea(2023) .. this story really made me cry .. it must be strange why doraemon .. it's because I grew up with that anime
Man, part of One Piece makes me cry, part of it makes me excited, and part of it makes me angry, especially with one villain or another. One Piece makes me so emotional. Overall, I think this is quite normal for everyone who watches this incredible work by Oda. It's no wonder that it became a meme to say "Oda is a genius" in Brazil. kkkkkkk
Don't feel any pressure to go to therapy. There are some people who swear by it and some people for whom it has done good but I couldn't disagree more with the "everyone should go to therapy" types. Whether aware of it or not I've seen so many people become dependent on therapy and become much more fragile and ill put together as a consequence of it. Becoming an addiction they need to indulge in to feel normal akin to any other addiction. When you haven't thought of something for 10 years and then something brings up old emotions and you're able to have a healthy release of emotions and a healthy conversation with your spouse about it without being judged, that is healthy. You are managing your trauma well. Stoicism and focusing on other things is a valid coping method in moderation and is a vital part of emotional stability that is often unfairly demonized. Also most mental health practices are based off of research into women's mental health being applied as if our brains are not wired substantially differently. For men in particular it's far better to get an active hobby, a creative hobby, and a social hobby(they can all be the same hobby) than it usually is for them to go to therapy.
Some say Franky is based off Popeye, Johnny Bravo or some other dude. But I thought he looks very similar to Ace Ventura as well. (The Hawaian shirt and hair gave it off.) Also, Bon Clay is dumb & dumber. Makes sense they have the same VA.
I'm not trying to say therapy is a bad thing. You(anyone, not necessarily Ron) should definitely give it a try and find out for yourself if it's working or not BUT(dun dun duunnn.....not really, just being funny) From what I've gathered, therapy is different for Men and Women(not absolutely, there might be overlap). Women likes talking through it first and then take Action if talking doesn't solve it(it usually does) and Men would Rather DO something(physical/taking Action) about it instead of talking(or choose to talk after the fact once everything's been dealt with). Also Men don't like opening up in a one on one type situations(except for maybe with their partners, maybe even then) and WOULD open up if they are focused on a task and also talk at the same time(found this in some study somewhere on the internet. Sorry can't remember where). So, Her trying to see if crying helped Him might not be the correct way of going about........... or maybe it's the perfect solution after all since I'm just some guy on the internet typing behind a screen not actually having a degree or experience in the field
something i realize after watchin the OP content, do yall region sell fans? moving to hotel because it's hot did sound weird, if your parent is from the south we just put fans in every window, but a few years back had the same problem but it was during severe cold, we just got a heater and thug it out

I remember you saying from that last video that "it felt too real" and yah, it really does felt too real. That's one of the strenght of One Piece, a lot of the character interactions for the most part are obviously hilarious or something where you'll be like "did he just did/say that?" but then at the same time it gets into this type of stuffs and shits happening like they're actualy people or as if the character felt alive That's probably something that is hard to find in an anime/manga lately especially from Shounen and is something that I mostly find in Seinen. I think FMAB and HxH are another example of this which both series ended up being one of my favorite series as well
Sorry to say, I know you mean well but you contradict yourself when you say “I don’t think going to see a therapist is worth” (obviously paraphrasing here) because that’s what happens! You get those emotions pent up and then they release in instances that you can’t control… therapy is so important, don’t let your fragile masculinity tell you that it doesn’t help and people are just different… I think you’re both a bit clueless on what it means to seek therapy and what the “aim of the game” is

Don't forget Popeye. He may not have mentioned it but it is too obvious.
It's funny how the same VA voices 2 characters inspired from Jim Carrey characters
I wonder if it's intentional or just coincidence
@muhdikmal3287 it's a heck of a coincidence
