Hey Friends, it seems all good things must come to an end, including my streak of bi-weekly grocery hauls. I had a good run and I didn’t break it for no reason. It’s time for me to check out some other grocery stores and their house brands to see what I might be missing. I think we all get happy and comfortable with our favorite stores but it seems like I am having to stop other places more often to get everything I need. So I’m taking an opportunity to see what my family thinks about Food Lion store brands so I can have some other affordable options to keep them happy. I don't have a problem trying store brands. Always less expensive and most of time taste the same. There are only a few brand names I'm loyal to. I love the pajamas. Blessings keep up the good work . I love you and your family and your channel.
I've loved Spam since Mom fried it up thin and crispy when I was a kid! Shelf stable is a bonus. I'm not a snacker, never have been, BUT I loved seeing your snacks because my skinny husband snacks constantly and I never think to get him goodies. I like any store brands EXCEPT Kroger canned veggies. I especially love Great Value bread. Sourdough and anything thick sliced. YUM! PJs with pockets---what a find! That ground chuck from Walmart is my favorite!!! Please never be ashamed of having fun. The Lord wants us to rejoice and thank Him for our wonderful life (Philippians)! I'm so happy I found your channel. Happy Anniversary, Mel. You've gotten REALLY GOOD at this!

And my husband snacks constantly and never gains weight either LOL Thats funny because I really like Kroger veggies and not Walmarts LOL Like I always say, everybody just likes what they like, we all have different taste buds LOL And thanks so much for your encouraging words, I am so glad that you're here and a part of this family, I appreciate you so much!

I’m brand loyal to a few things, (gotta have my Dukes mayo!) but the bulk of my purchases are store brands. In fact there are some that I like better than the name brands! Have you ever thought of buying a whole black Forrest fully cooked ham from Sam’s and having it sliced up at Sam’s? The thing is expensive, but it cost $3.86/lb . You are paying double for that packaging. You could also, cut it in half. Use half for Easter or just meals as is and slice other half into thin slices for deli style uses. Freeze in freezer bags for later use. I do it all the time. Does not compromise the texture. Also, Sam’s sells their deli black Forrest ham in containers like you bought in 22oz packages for around same price you paid. At least you will be getting close to half pound more. I make a trip once a month to a Sam’s and buy my dog food, paper products, detergent, and anything they have on sale I can not find in local stores. I live in a small town where all small surrounding communities shop too...so many times our shelves are bare. I know we do what all we have to do during this time! Right now Kroger’s is running a really good sale.

When I go grocery shopping I always get food to go on the way home. I don’t feel like cooking after I finish putting groceries away lol! You have to take shortcuts sometimes. I found your channel the other day and I’ve been binge watching! (I’ve gotta stop-HELP!) I love watching you. I live in a small community in North Carolina and our only choice is Food Lion, except for an Aldi and a Walmart about 25 to 30 minutes away. My husband works at a Food Lion distribution center about 40 minutes from our house. Anyway, I use a lot of the Food Lion store brands and have gotten used to them to the point that I actually like some of them better than the name brand. But I’ll always be loyal to my Dukes mayonnaise and a few others! It’s always good to have options. Keep doing what you do and know that we appreciate you!

I have to say that I've always bought name brand foods for the most part. That being said I have been trying out Kroger brand foods and so far so good. Next is my first trip to Aldi. So fun to be adventurous.

I tend to go with store brand over name brand for most things. Kroger brand BBQ chips over Lays every time for me. My guys say skip Aldi’s version of Doritos though. We even skip the name brand colas for Kroger’s Big K. We did get the special flavors of Mt. Dew though. (I loved the gingerbread).

I've used that Suave clarifying shampoo forever as my first wash. I find it really good to strip the hair of oil and residues from hair products. But I use something more hydrating for my 2nd wash to put some moisture back in my hair. Those lemon donuts sound amazing, I have to find those! I love spam too! Those pajamas are just so cute. I have been loving going to Walmart and getting some good deals on clearance clothes. Found sets of pajamas and leggings for $1-4 and I was so happy lol. I can't wait to see you make the buttermilk cake. It's definitely life to change up dinner plans and to have some fast food lol. Congrats again on your one year TH-cam anniversary! I live in the U.K. I will buy Coca Cola as most of the fizzy drinks now contain sweetener which I have issues with. Many biscuits (cookies) are probably made in the same factory etc. I tend to shop at the posh supermarkets as there products are so much better etc.

Ingles is the grocery store near me. Most Laura Lynn products have been excellent.One item that I must have brand name is my grits,either butter or country bacon. The second item that I need to be brand name is most soups..prefer Campbell's.
We have Ingles in the next town over, but I have never went in it. And I am with you on the Campbells soups, I have to have them, except for the "cream of" ones, those I will do store brand. Thanks so much for being here

Just found y’all! As a grocery sales rep for 38 years I can tell you that each store brand is made by a national grocery company. Food Lion, Kroger, Walmart, Costco, Sams, the Pig all these chains don’t grow and can their own green beans or corn. Usually it’s the leader in the category. I wish I could tell you what store brand products my national company makes, but I can’t. I think the only company that will not make store brand is Coke Cola.

Congratulations on your one year I guess I didn't know that that's all the longer that you'd been on since I'm more recent subscriber. No need to be embarrassed it doesn't look like you bought anything bad in your grocery hauls at your different stores and sometimes you do need to take advantage of checking out some different stores and trying some different things and your PJs look really nice!

I love Kroger brand rippled chips! So good! And all of the Kroger brand pickles I’ve tried are also very good. Their breakfast sausage is also pretty good. And don’t be embarrassed! Sometimes we just have to splurge a little!
I love all those Kroger brand items too, the only thing that I have had an issue with lately are my dill pickle spears. They just don't seem to stay crunchy LOL And I do really like their sausage in the roll, too, If Swaggertys is out of stock I will always reach for it next. we have a food lion here in fact we 4 stores here in town. I love all the Food lion brand items. they have really great prices if you are a MVP customer. make sure you get the app on your phone and sign up for MVP if you haven't all ready. I was a retail merchandise supervisor for over 15 20 years I reset and opened new stores for Harris Teeter and Food lion up and down eastern seaboard. I will have to say I have been in all the stores over here and not one store I have been in that wasn't clean in the back from one sliding down to the last one. they are very big with cleaning not just in store but in the back they also have a set team that comes once a month and checks dates and resets sections of the store so things stay rotated. Yes I am a FOOD LION shopper
