What a jolly review. So, in my typical style I watch reviews after I've made up my mind on what I'm going to spend my money on. I'm glad to hear reviews from regular riders such as myself who aren't complete nutters. Thanks! Cheers!
Thanks very much. I've often thought that you can't trust a review from either source that sells the product, or a reviewer who is sponsored by the product. Me? I'm just an amateur trying to help people make good choices
Watching this again. Your decision making and riding style matches mine. Last season I was given Supercorsa Take-Offs and had the pleasure of wearing them out. I finished out the season and started this one on mismatched used set with a Q3+ on the front and a T31 on the rear, because if it weren't for those I wouldn't have been able to afford tires at all. When it came time to spend money I wanted the best tires I could get. With the supercorsa as a point of reference I decided on these. Glad to hear your thoughts again. I subscribed and liked!
Was debating between these Pirelli tires, Bridgestone S22 and Michelin Road 5’s. Then saw your video, was given a good deal by a friendly local dealer and went for the Rosso lll’s. I did almost 9k in two years on the stock S20’s. I didn’t feel any negatives and did almost 4k on my last tour in rain and fair weather. No issues whatsoever. I’m itching to see what these new tires bring to the table. Should be good since you rate them so highly.
Hi Dave. My MT09SP has run on the pirelli rosso Corsa ll from Day one. 6000km they last. Full Akrapovic titanium from Day one two👍🏻. Like you videos. Peter from Denmark.
Hi Peter. That's good information as the Rosso Corsa are an upgrade to the Rosso 3, and the Corsa II that were fitted to my Tuono, didn't last half that due to it's immense power and torque, but I might try them on my 09 too now that you've confirmed their durability on your bike. Thanks
Great vid, I was hovering between these and the Battlax S22's, tbh I don't think there's much in it but have gone for the Pirelli's with your kind assistance !
Appreciate this practical real world review. Been debating on these vs Michelin’s new Power 5’s... Maybe I can’t go wrong but any additional suggestions or in’s would b greatly appreciated.
nice review, I agree with a number of things you said. I had the pirelli diablo rosso II's originally but was not impressed. The Diablo Rosso III (rear only) made a good impression it lasted about 12k (km's) 7k+ miles. In all aspects and all conditions the III was better than the II, longevity, grip and kept its shape pretty well through its lifetime. Not bad on the wet either. Definitely a good tire
I have a Suzuki sv 650s with touring package. That means with two up. Giving monokey top case and saddle bags...I riding 90% like this. My pirelli Diablo rosso 2 and rosso 3 worn out same milage(7500km). My tire pressure was 2.5front and 2.9rear. I need new tires any suggestions or recommendation? it's looks like I need every year a new set. I looking for these two pirelli angel gt 2 and corsa2... Cheers.
Agree with your comments on the S20's, I had them on my XSR 900. Rather foolishly i took them on track and lost the front, I also questioned the tyre pressures as they recommended values always seemed to be high.
After 2 sets of Super Corsas I went with these. Only 2600 miles out of the rear. Replaced it and kept the front. First time I have ever only replaced one tire. They sucked at first but I am having better luck with them now. Started with them last November so the break in was in the damp and cool conditions of the Santa Cruz mountains. Had a front and rear slide that happened in a right hander with maintenance throttle at little lean going over wet pavement with a bit of silt. Just seemed like a really long break in. Have another set of Supercorsas waiting for the spring and then will probably give the Rosso corsa 2 a try or maybe try some Bstones.
Interesting Dave, have had no problems with the S20's on my MT10 so far. I'm fast coming up to tyre change time so might try these out, thanks for the review.
Phil Hawkins I think they put proper retail tyres on litre bikes. The Battlax RS10s on my R1 were genuine ones too. I’ve no idea why they put oem tyres on other bikes in their range, but it seems that it’s common practice among other Japanese manufacturers, unlike European bikes that use proper retail rubber
Looking at buying my first pair of tyres and I’ve been torn between the Pirelli Diablo Rosso 3 or the Bridgestone Battlax S22 I’ve got a 2015 Suzuki GSX R750, she’s my garage queen so only comes out on those sunny days in the warmer months. The gorgeous Derbyshire and Lincolnshire roads for a few hours. I’m not looking to be the next Rossi but I do love to enjoy her power where it’s appropriate Would you say the Pirelli’s are a good choice against the others?
Thanks for posting. I've heard several positive reviews of this tire. I've so far had good experience with the S20s on my s1000r I purchased this spring. They have 4500 miles on them now and look good but am starting to consider what to go with next. I've had very good experience with metzler m7 RR tires so may go with them or possibly s21s or s22s since I've never had them before.
The proper S20 retail tyres will be great. When I took my wheels to my tyre guy to get these Pirelli fitted, he had some S20s in stock, and comparing them to the oem s20, the rubber felt much more supple and grippy although the tread pattern was the same
You cant go wrong with Pirelli diablo rosso 3. I love them, altho i only ride on Pirelli tires, not realy interested in anything else . Michelins were suicide plastic for me and Dunlop are unpredictable and once they are half worn you never know when its gonna let go.
I'm the same. I know and trust Pirelli now so I'm happy to stick with what I know works for me. Saying that, I have been enjoying Bridgestone CompK slicks on track
Hi nice video, is this good for bad Indian condition (I am using Metzler M7 RR), is the structure made of steel or some kind of composite? Because composite can't take big hits or puncher resistance...this is what I want to hear from your options and experience of using this tyre.
Are you having another set of tire after two years of riding your MT-09? If so, do you still stick to Rosso 3 or you do have something in your mind. It has been a year since last time you release your update. I hope you and your family well. Wish to hear from you soon.
Hi. The first set have now completed 4000 miles and the rear was down to the wear markers but not badly squared off. The front however is still in excellent shape, so I've only just fitted a new Rosso III rear and I'm good to go 👍
Used to own an SV650 back in the SV650.org days. I had designed the zunkus rear fender eliminator plate and my template proved very popular with the curvy owners. Sold it two years ago and bought the MT09SP. A very different kettle of fish!
I don't really know, but the Pirelli website has all the info. The Diablo Rosso Corsa range are the next tier down from their ultimate grippy road legal track tyre, the Supercorsa SP so they will be track biased with excellent dry grip but with the compromise of less performance in the wet and reduced tyre life. The Diablo Rosso range (minus the corsa) are full road going tyres with less focus on track use. The Diablo Rosso 2 is totally road focused with the best tyre life and wet performance. The Diablo Rosso 3 is more sports focused than the 2 and has a more sporty tread pattern with superior dry performance over the 2, and will do a decent job on track, but without the out and out performance of the Rosso Corsa 2 and the Supercorsa SP. The Rosso 3's dry performance comes at the cost of reduced tyre life over the Rosso 2 and performes less well in the wet. Confused? I am, but in a nutshell The Diablo Rosso Corsa 2 is more sporty and grippy than the Diablo Rosso 3 but won't last as long. I hope this helps.
@@VeeFour Well, Diablo Rosso Corsa 2 ,here on a Tuono 1100 and at 4k kms I've not more than 500kms of a spin left. I 'm wondering if that middle strip on both rear tyres of Diablo Rosso Corsa 2 and Corsa 3 isn't exactly the same ,because if it is it means same mileage at least in case of a Tuono V4.

Thanks for helping out in my choice between the Rosso III and the Angel GT 2! Actual Rosso II will be replaced by the III.
Always happy to hear that I've helped someone ☺
Very good job mate. Realy usful video

Hi Dave. Corsa ll is new tire for 2018. And they will last a lot longere than Corsa sp. 09 SP run fantastisk on Corsa ll. Regards Peter.

7k miles put of a grippy rear tyre is good in my opinion and I'll be happy indeed if mine last that long 👍

Yes, I never use recommended tyre pressures as they feel like bowling balls if you do
Great review, thank you 👍🏻

Could be the extra weight of the 10 makes it feel more planted

Yes, I’d say they’d do the job perfectly. Plenty of grip but also decent longevity 👍

How is in the rain?
They’re not to bad, but I don’t tend to ride much in the rain so don’t have a lot of experience with them in the wet.

Hi. They are quite a lightweight construction for the conditions you describe, and I would research something more robust if I were you 👍

I used to own a 1999 pre injection one, was a great little bike, I'll have to kick the tyres of one at my loval Suzuki dealer 👍

I dare u to do a cat video. Just for the giggles...
I can do that. I have a cat and I have a camera
The road quality is the same in sweden. Its horrible.
I’ve worked in Sweden, your roads are great compared to here in the UK
