Wow I've generated over 23,000 images since I joined in March. I guess it's nice to get some kind of recognition for it. Interested to see if the mobile interface is better with the website. Thanks, Tim!
Every Midjourney starts with the first image... (of foot prints in the sand::2 walking towards a fantasy castle::2 in the style of Grimms Fairytale art, Hansel & Gretel, DMT hallucination, castle-core -- ar 16:9) 😉
Hoping this changes. Been using MidJourney everyday since earlier this year and only have about 1,900 images. Seeing I am paying for the highest plan, they should at least open it up for that tier as well.
next week is what I heard. I think this is just a last minute test for people who are "power users" to come and kick the tires to see if we can break anything. I mean, people that have hit 10k tend to have done some pretty weird stuff with MJ (speaking for myself as well!)-- so, if you think about it, this more about making sure you are getting a smooth experience when you pop on!
@TheoreticallyMedia Good point. Anxiously waiting this AND Pika 1.0. But you're right. I'd rather have something that works than to go in and have issues.
So, my thought is that this is more of a light stress test and checking for bugs. I actually did have one that I called in, where my search images vanished. I believe it goes live next week, so this is more a “kick the tires” kind of thing for power users, who will clearly stress test the UI.
Discord is such a horrendously bad interface, only insane people will reach 10,000 and be able to use the less absurd interface. It's like they want to kill their potential business.
Remember with this being 5.2, --stylize is much stronger than previous versions. For a pure photo your high 650 value is fine but if you need MJ to listen more or you need to do something that isn't real, 650 might be waayyy to much. (Even the default 100 can be too powerful) Ironic that Vary Region isn't here since that was the impetus to get MJ out of discord since the discord UI was so handcuffy, and they had to get Discord to make special UI elements just for that feature.
That s a really good point! To be honest, I wasn’t really concentrating on prompt structure/parameters for this video. This was more a UI walkthrough- But as you bring it up, they probably do have the stylize slider defaulting a bit high. But, I guess that is also taste dependent. But, great call. I’m going to do a full “MJ for Beginners” early next year. Seems like a good time for a refresh, now that we have a website, so I’ll be sure to mention that!
10,000! Ooof. I feel like I've been using it a lot for since about May, and I'm only up to a paltry 2,790. Amazing the people who have not only broken 10k, but doubled or tripled that. I tip my hat!
You can-- sorry, I didn't make that clear in the video. I kind of touch on it when I mention you can dash dash IW later-- but, I should have put a button on the --ar part. Sorry, it was a pretty quick video!
Sigh... guess I'll have to put some time and effort into generating more images to meet that quota. But I see why they've done it that way so I'm not mad.
You don't say WHY 10K images ?? also it divides them into Lifetime and Relaxed ....so I've personally generated over 13K images so no issues I have the create button but for those who have not, it may be useful to know. Great Video, I had no idea this was happening so thanks for letting us all know.
@@TheoreticallyMedia that would be good. I've just spent an hour on the website and it seems to work well. It's good it's now independent from Discord, had to happen sooner or later.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned since the dawn of communication: people will argue about anything. I’m pretty sure that extends back to the first cave paintings…. “Really with the buffalo again? Also, your color choice for fire seems really off…” Haha, the first art critic.
Got used to discord but missing functions from dale3 (rewriting the prompt) or stable diffusion to use a face i provide to really use it as input and not just change it totally as it is the case today
Yeah, I'll say those are two things they need to get it together on. I thing-- for, ethical reasons, they have stated they don't want to do full face swapping-- but, they have been talking about the ability to create consistent characters in a storytelling sense coming up soon. To be honest, I don't mind that...
I’ve noticed that too. On my Apple TV (hooked into my living room TV) they also now have a countdown timer, kind of like Peacock. I mean, look- it’s the holiday season, so ads are going to get pushed more. We’ll see if it mellows out in Jan.
Haha- Yeah...I think it took them a BIT longer than it should have, but they do seem to have nailed it. There's that old video game quote: "A late game is only late until it ships. A bad game is bad for the rest of your life"
Wow, finally! 🎉 While I don't think I will switch from Stable Diffusion to Midjourney, it's surely worth a try as soon as it's open to everyone. I'm not a big fan of the Discord approach, though. 🤔
I think this will be a pretty big move for them. Personally, I think MJ occupies an interesting place in the overall AI Art space. It was obviously a gateway for a lot of people to get started, but as the free models from larger companies dropped, I now think of it as an intermediate area- but, one that can be used (and even preferred) by pros as well. I stay platform agnostic, but I’ll say, even bouncing around SD or the other various tools, MJ has always remained in my toolbelt. I’m excited to see a new audience discovering it, I just hope they’re able to start offering free trials again. Catch more flies with honey, and all that!
The web UI adds some nice features but at the same time introduces extra steps to do the same things you can currently do in discord faster which is an L. Hopefully those get worked out.
It’s funny, because down the road, I do see two different types of MJ users- web vs Discord, and I bet both will say the same thing! There for sure is going to be a lot of work done on the website, and I feel like a year from now, the UI will look a lot different. I just hope they manage to find a way to keep things clean and elegant, and quick and productive. Which, is obviously a huge design challenge.
Nice. The user interface looks great, and seems to require so much less hand-numbing scrolling (in my case literally so as it pinches the nerve that makes my little and ring fingers numb) than the Discord interface. I'll be looking forward to using this next time I subscribe. At the moment, I am too busy working with the images I've already had MJ generate. I am picky and don't think many of them are usable straight out of the box, and most I actually generated as inspirations or composition ideas for other art media, at the moment mainly as starting points for vector illustrations. This is something I think AI will be rubbish at for a while, with results that almost inevitably look more like image tracings than hand-made vectors. It will be interesting to see if AI can be used for clean vector files with a hand-traced look some day, but for now, one still needs to apply good old-fashioned elbow grease for that kind of work.
Discord 🇧🇷 hater here. Midjourney Alpha UI looks so much cleaner and intuitive then Discord... I can already see a huge gain of "quality of life” features. One Alpha "major downside" is still no inpainting. But let's be honest, currently it is better to do that in Photoshop anyway.
the inpainting will be worked out in no time-- and I'm hoping with better brush tools as well! It's funny, I know there are a lot of bells and whistles going around in the AI space right now, but I'm always solidly in MJ's corner and keeping an eye on them. They don't go for the flashy new stuff, but rather carefully integrate in. And although (from the outside) it appears they move slowly-- when they drop, they drop big. I think between v6 and v7, a lot of Midjourney nay-sayers are going to be silent.
Hope you are right. I am betting on V7 or V8 is when we will finally generate high-level "cinematic" animation with MJ worldbuilding and precise character control. @@TheoreticallyMedia
Haha, well it does release apparently next week. So, I think they were just looking for power users to come in and kick the tires a bit. I think there are more 10k folks then you might think...
To be fair, this is an early test alpha version of the site, that is being restricted to users 10k or above just for the moment for extended user testing purposes, not due to some generic restriction. If they unleash an alpha version of anything to every single user it would be chaos.
Haha, I think that'll get fixed by the time the release goes public-- but yeah...dummy me is like "click, click, click, click...Nothing is happening! Click, Click, click" 700 images of a Man in a Blue Business Suit. "oh...."
I got moved to an alpha version because I generated 100 images, not 10000 and it's worse then Leonardo which is free. I'm a beginner user but it's frustrating. I hope I'll figure it out over time
Yeah-- the prompting has changed as an FYI. I did a video for a company called SEMRush that you might be interested in. It's "Technically" aimed at MJ for Marketing-- but to be honest, it's really just about MJ. You can check it out here: th-cam.com/video/LNbDHGZR1Zk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=BSsmAPyBeCx2hNOc
Hi Tim, thank you so much for this video. Not trying to be a crazy “fanboy” here, but your videos just continue to get better and better. Keep up the great work!.
Oh man, thank you so much! I’ve got some pretty interesting stuff coming up for next year that I can’t wait to get to! Always striving to push and improve!
Agreed. Just mentioned that in another comment. It might be there? but if it is, it isn't obvious. I'm sure it'll be there by release. Fairly simple one to implement... (So says the guy that does not to any dev work! Ha!)
Hopefully they will lose the social-prejudice “filters” along with the social-church-lady “everything is satan” mindset as well. 😳😂😂😂😳😳😳 Absolutely hate the forced peer pressure censorship crap. The filters are unbelievably offensive and prejudiced. They just don’t work. It’s absolutely ridiculous…. Just my 2cents.
I hate discord but only have 2,000 generations. I’m trying to get to 5000 by February 😁. Two of my friends are going to subscribe to your channel..just shared. They are pro realist painters too ❤
If you like mediocre and not original contents MJ is fantastic perfect to build a website. MJ is so stereotypical that is already a meme between artists. 🤷🏿♀️🤷🏿♀️
Wow! these are Amazing News! Thank you for sharing these website functionality tips with us. What I like to mention is that Midjourney is still lacking a lot of dictionary words. It doesn't understand the words "Angels", and country flags. It can not generate angels properly for me. But as far as the word "demons and monsters" it can understand those very well. That's so sad that it can't understand Christian terms and words. But it can understand all the evil words. 🤔 Also do any of you guys are saving your images on the computer each time? I always do. Even google is changing its products after a couple of years and are asking from us to save our files and images before they delete them. Maybe midjourney one day will do the same. So one good tactic is to Always download your images guys. 😊
I saw your thumbnail and ran to the site - had no idea they had launched it today. I'm loving this so much because it speeds up workflow tremendously - and I'm always copying and reusing images for generations so thats a huge plus. Of course the sliders makes things easier - all around this is a major upgrade for my workflow. I was never on team "hate discord" but after using this, not sure I can go back. haha. I also like the fact the images are so much larger, I see some textures in the generations that I would've never seen before.
Argh, I just about finished my Meta Imagine video. Nobody is going to care about that now. 😅 Well, now I have to hope 7500 images will be enough, or I got some work ahead of me.
Haha, I just did a Meta one yesterday...and yeah...kinda flopped? I don't think people were that interested in that model. Which is a shame, there are some cool things about it.
Hi Tim, did you find a way to get the thumbnail of the created images there get as small as the ones created in discord? Thought, with a simple reload they will become "old creations" but that doesn´t work. Maybe they change that in future or the pics are smaller on the next day?
Thanks for the update, Tim. Definitely a step forward from releasing us from the prison of Discord. For all those Disco-Discord-lovers, here's a simple question. If you wanted to design the most elegant and functional UI for MJ, would you use the current Dis-functional model???
2024 is for sure looking to be the year we all migrate away from Discord, I think across most of the major services. That said, I'll probably end up there quite a bit, as I do think that most of the early development stuff will continue on that platform. It's almost like you've "graduated" once you've broken out!
Yeah, Discord has its place as a chat-site. But why would you buy an E-Type Jag then just sit in it in the garage, grip the steering wheel and yell "VROOM-VROOM!" 🤪
I hate using web interfaces. One of the things I love about Midjourney is that I can use it in my own discord server and organize my images as I want to. So, those who want the web interface.. good for you. I'm staying with Discord.
@@shadowspublishing I’ve always liked the command prompt style of Discord and MJ. For me, I think it tickles a hybrid part of creativity and, I guess for lack of a better term: programming, part of my brain. I don’t know, there’s something about thinking of arranging a prompt, and issuing dash dash commands that tends to quickly lull me into a flow state. But again, I know it isn’t for everyone.
@@shadowspublishing While you can create images in different channels via Discord, it essentially walls those images off from each other. Unfortunately, the basic functionality of being able to organise images into folders is not available on either platform. And the reason MJ haven't done that is because they shackled themselves to a chat site which was never designed to cope with the basic requirements of a program like MJ. Now we are between the Worlds. Neither Discord nor the web app are adequate for the task. But at least the app has potential to achieve it. Discord never did and never will.
Can't seem to find the command to actually 'delete' an image or cancel the creation of image once it's started. This was fairly simple in Discord - is it even possible in Midjourney Alpha?
oh, I'm always for that! That said, have you seen the whole Real Time LCM thing? th-cam.com/video/4-2dSRjErE4/w-d-xo.html This is like a combination of painting and Generating. I think you'll find it interesting for sure!
Anyone found a way to delete an image in your archive using the new web UI? It seems like anything generated using the web ui doesn't show in your discord channel so you can't type the "X" in comment and delete it there either. Maybe I'm missing something
so i'm at a loss here.... i can't do anything on Discord. like none of the commands work, nor can i type anything on the midjourney site. it says imagine (coming soon)
Help !!! when I drag a picture up to use for image reference or style reference, I hover over the image and I dont have the 3 different choices. there is stuff missing. I tried chrome, edge, opera and no difference. thanks !
Not yet. Apparently in v6/7 (7 following quickly after 6) we’re supposed to get that. But, not as we expect? It’ll be interesting to see, but the MJ gang is promising something much bigger than simple img2img or controlnet.
Clicked on the video for MJ news, liked for the fashion advice :) I only tried MJ for one month, with unlimited relax time and I used it almost every day, but according to /info I generated less than 4,000 images (relaxed+fast). Maybe by the time I subscribe for another month, they'll drop the 10,000 images requirement. I'm not a fan of discord and I really liked the sliders you showed. Working with --parameters was never fun for me. About rerolling from someone else's image, playgroundai has had this ever since I discovered them. I left all my images public (even for free accounts on playgroundai you can make them private) but I have no idea if anyone rerolled them. There doesn't seem to be a way to see if someone remixed your generation. If you click on a remixed image, you can see the one from which it was remixed, but that's about it.
apparently the news is, the website will be wide next week! So, not much longer to go! And as I was thinking about it, maybe buff guy got that suit off the rack and ran it through the hot water setting in his washer. Dry clean, my friend!
Yeah, I kind of address that when I talk about manually inputting image weights later in the video. I’ll have to do another video once the release goes wide. I’ve been meaning to do a MJ Beginners tutorial, and this seems like a great time. New year, new site!
Overall the in-site generation is great. The ability to just drag a previous image into the prompt for describe (instead of upload/copy URL etc.) eliminates a big distraction from creative flow. Lacking sufficient gratitude, however, I have some immediate UX wishes: - Better UX feedback that a gen has been triggered; it’s hard to notice one is underway. An "imagine" button in the prompt bar to click on would be an obvious addition, and perhaps a subtle cycling animation around "Create" in the sidebar to just signal something’s underway. - An option to collapse in-site gens to the smaller squares like the ones created in Discord. It makes for a better overview of recent images. - Refined prompt params, such as a toggle for dual axis for precise exact aspect ratios, shift-drag for notching stylize/weird values, etc., by increments of 1 - or just enter a number deliberately).
I'm sure a lot of that is coming-- the one that I did notice as well: No (obvious) way to delete unwanted gens from your feed. Although, they did mention yesterday that "Folders" and better project management is coming soon. All in all, I think this is super promising. The Web UI will makes those little shortcomings much easier to spot, and I (presume at least, I'm not a UX designer) easier to implement changes to. I think their struggle is going to be feature creep. There's a certain level of ease and elegance that MJ has always strove for-- But, I mean-- have you looked at the Leonardo UI recently? Don't get me wrong, I love Leo, but holy hell! That's just an insane mess of modules. Totally overwhelming to a new user!
Haha, well if you run a bunch of permutations you can make up that 3k really quickly!! On the plus side, according to Office Hours, it looks like the site will go wide next week! So, not long to go!
also if you run the 128 tuner, it technically adds 256 generations to your image creation number! takes less time to generate mass images, though costs of coures a little more than a fast hour@@TheoreticallyMedia
I'll happily donate you 3000+ images to make your quota, bro. I used them over a couple of hour's trying to prompt... "The pellet with the poison's in the flagon with the dragon; the vessel with the pestle has the brew that is true." MJ just kept giving me insta-models in space helmets.
@@morpheus2573 I’m not sure I understand ‘donate’, how you or Ai would generate 3000+ images in a few hours (and good ones to not clutter up my portfolio w images I might not like) pls let me know thnks
I mean that debate about "cheating" happened long ago because you can do the exact same thing on the Discord and have been able to essentially since the beginning. You can even roll variants directly on a generation someone else did in the Discord. If you want to keep your work private then there is an option for that, and I do pay for that since I use it for business.
Totally-- just trying to head that one off at the pass. I feel like it's going to pop up at some point, particularly as we move to a web UI-- I think there are a lot of "Prompt Engineers" who are worried about losing their clout as well!
well after (well along with you to be honest) i been trying the new Alpha web sight.. i think its really cool. Got to get used to the setup vs discord but do-able..it has most of the features except the in painting but still i think its the good direction it is going .. thanks so much for the info.
And that will still be there for you. It’s just another option. They’re been very clear that they aren’t leaving Discord. I think there will eventually be two “camps” of MJ users. Those on the web, and those in Discord. The challenge for them is going to be new feature rollout. To keep things fair, they’ll need to release new stuff for two platforms now. I’m pretty sure they’ve already thought of all that though…
Why are we okay with them calling it an "alpha"? Also, you can't say "Discord-haters rejoice" because you can't sign in or sign up unless you're hooked into their Discord.
Thank god. I will say, they did a really good job with it. There’s a nice balance of simplicity at work here. Some things to work out (inpainting) but for the most part it feels pretty good.
Well, maybe? Jeff Katzenberg (head of Dreamworks) recently said yes. But I also just heard an interview with the head of Illumination (Minions, Super Mario) who says no. Granted, Meledandri (Illumination) said it would have an impact for sure, but also mentioned that they’ve been using AI tools for years already (just not called AI), and thinks this will be more of the same. Tools to help, not replace. So, two sides of a coin.
oh that suit REALLY pops. I'm jealous, although I could never pull it off. You basically have to be built like Tom Hiddleston to rock that look! Haha, me in that suit would turn heads...the problem is: They'd be turning AWAY!
Thank you! 👍 Pining for v6 has sort of eclipsed my interest in their website to tell you the truth. But I was never a Discord hater either, so I can see why this would be a huge deal for some/many. Appreciate you keeping us updated. I want to type, 'Man in blue business suit walking on ceiling', and actually have it bloody generate that! After being patient for so long, I think it's reasonable to ask for _real_ traction in the adherence. Tried the same prompt in DallE, and although the man was blue, he was walking on the ceiling! First generation. David, celebrations during the holiday seasons is good marketing! Thanks again Tim. 💯
Yeah, I can’t disagree- and I feel that David and the gang are aware of the pressure mounting. That’s been a topic point in the Q&A section of Office Hours lately: like, “why don’t we have this yet?” The answer generally seems to be: wait for v6/7. It isn’t going to be what you’re asking for, it’s going to be better. The overall idea it seems is to stay the course and work on their larger vision, instead of reacting to the latest tech as it drops and chasing trends. Which I get. They don’t want to drop half-working new features. I’m not a kool-aid drinker, but at this point, MJs earned enough clout from me that I’ll keep the faith they’re brewing something massive for 24.
@@TheoreticallyMedia Shame 24 has 12 months! Ha! It's not the competition that bothers me, because I think there's a place for every platform based on the use case. But considering I'm paying for a hobby/passion/creative outlet, I truly believe it's time to shed some light on a new or improved USP. They ought to embrace that time-based release model they've referred to, and sustain it. Ideation never ends, but without implementation, it's for nothing. I'm staying positive for a little longer. Great job interacting with all your subscribers Tim. 💯 Can't be easy. Ooh, just thought of AI-generated holograms! 🤯
Thanks for this. Couple of points a) can images be saved as png (like in discord) rather than WBEP? b) how come images created in dioscord appear on the web page but not vice versa?
i have 8500 images lifetime usage and could connect and use alpha. is relaxed usage added to lifetime ? in which case i would have 3100 additional images

I mean, look- it’s the holiday season, so ads are going to get pushed more. We’ll see if it mellows out in Jan.
Amazing that it took them so long to create a usable interface over the discord nonsense that put me off the moment I tried it he first time.
How can you have a Beta site, then release an Alpha site? Does the entire crew over at Midjourney not realize that Beta comes after Alpha?
Haha, Midjourney marches to the beat of its own drummer, for sure!
It will be interesting to see if AI can be used for clean vector files with a hand-traced look some day, but for now, one still needs to apply good old-fashioned elbow grease for that kind of work.
well i guess i better start generating a bunch of non-sense ai pics so i can get to 20k mark.......
Haha. I think the site will go live next week- so save your fast hours!
Bummer. I'm no pro & only at about 2000 pics. I'll come back to watch the rest of this video if / when I ever reach 10k.
oh, I think the site goes live next week. So, don't stress it too much!
@@TheoreticallyMedia thx Tim
10k images. Lets see how far we can push people away...
Yep using it now - I really like it. By the way - love your content!!!
Thank you so much!! And yeah, I LOVE the new site!
Thanks Timothy. You do the dirty work so we don't have to!
I'm in the AI Mines everyday!! I need.a cool hat with a flashlight!
No evident feedback after clicking sth., fantastic 😂
Haha, I think that'll get fixed by the time the release goes public-- but yeah...dummy me is like "click, click, click, click...Nothing is happening! Click, Click, click"
700 images of a Man in a Blue Business Suit.
@TheoreticallyMedia oh thank you, that's so sweet of you to answer. I'll check the video for sure
Can't wait to see it also! @@TheoreticallyMedia
We need a delete option.
Absolutely hate the forced peer pressure censorship crap.
They are pro realist painters too ❤
@4:08 when the steroids finally kick in...
Haha, bro is clearly compensating for something.
2:50 you can also use mouse wheel up and down to scroll through images.
Indeed! Haha, I should mention that my mouse wheel has been a bit buggy lately. Might be time to treat myself to a new one!
@@TheoreticallyMedia Oh I would say so, I can't live without a mouse wheel. :-)
Aargh. I have generated well over 10,000, but I x everything I don't like... so I don't have 10,000. 😢
I use an oofline SDXL tool. Midjournry is overrated and overpriced. And overcensored. They basicly charge you for stuff they have stolen.
I was never on team "hate discord" but after using this, not sure I can go back. haha. I also like the fact the images are so much larger, I see some textures in the generations that I would've never seen before.
why you didn't see the textures before? have you been generating your images on a mobile phone screen? not on the computer?
Argh, I just about finished my Meta Imagine video. Nobody is going to care about that now. 😅
Well, now I have to hope 7500 images will be enough, or I got some work ahead of me.
Haha, I just did a Meta one yesterday...and yeah...kinda flopped? I don't think people were that interested in that model. Which is a shame, there are some cool things about it.
why i don't get it the midjourney alpha
Hit up alpha.midjourney.com
If not, check with the Discord
Hi Tim, did you find a way to get the thumbnail of the created images there get as small as the ones created in discord? Thought, with a simple reload they will become "old creations" but that doesn´t work. Maybe they change that in future or the pics are smaller on the next day?
I think there’s a view options in the generated images area. I’ll take a look!
Lol...how can Discord haters rejoice? We can't use the site cause we don't have 10,000 generated images cause we hate discord!!!
Hi, wondering if you could show how to use the face swapping apps now that it’s moved to alpha? Thanks
Discord never did and never will.
lol i kinda must giggle, as stable diffusion user. Everything is free and no 10k bullshits!
Can't seem to find the command to actually 'delete' an image or cancel the creation of image once it's started. This was fairly simple in Discord - is it even possible in Midjourney Alpha?
Time to get the actual paints out again, this has lost its appeal
oh, I'm always for that!
Maybe I'm missing something
looks to me your first cab off the rank Tim. Had little run just prior did not pick up describe, anything for blend?/.
so i'm at a loss here.... i can't do anything on Discord. like none of the commands work, nor can i type anything on the midjourney site. it says imagine (coming soon)
Help !!! when I drag a picture up to use for image reference or style reference, I hover over the image and I dont have the 3 different choices. there is stuff missing. I tried chrome, edge, opera and no difference. thanks !
Sorry I had to dislike this video. Midjourney is a corrupt greedy company.
Still no great image to image controlls
Not yet. Apparently in v6/7 (7 following quickly after 6) we’re supposed to get that. But, not as we expect? It’ll be interesting to see, but the MJ gang is promising something much bigger than simple img2img or controlnet.
Clicked on the video for MJ news, liked for the fashion advice :)
I only tried MJ for one month, with unlimited relax time and I used it almost every day, but according to /info I generated less than 4,000 images (relaxed+fast).
"10,000?! I can almost buy my our ship with that" 😂 sorry couldnt help it.
1:50 Tim, you can also click on the numbers to type in your own aspect ratio.
Yeah, I kind of address that when I talk about manually inputting image weights later in the video.
I’ll have to do another video once the release goes wide. I’ve been meaning to do a MJ Beginners tutorial, and this seems like a great time. New year, new site!
@@TheoreticallyMedia Sorry, I missed in later in the video. 🙂
That would be good. Sounds cool.
Overall the in-site generation is great. The ability to just drag a previous image into the prompt for describe (instead of upload/copy URL etc.) eliminates a big distraction from creative flow.
Lacking sufficient gratitude, however, I have some immediate UX wishes:
- Better UX feedback that a gen has been triggered; it’s hard to notice one is underway.
I will have to try it later. Just checked and I have almost 13000 images done. 👍
Nice!!! Generating MACHINE!!
Why the hell does it matter how many images we've created before this access? What if we're paying users?
Blast, I’m only at lifetime 7056 images. Great video Tim Ai bro!
After whining and bitching about this for months now I kinda want to stick to Discord lol. The website UI still needs a lot of work...
I'll happily donate you 3000+ images to make your quota, bro. I used them over a couple of hour's trying to prompt...
"The pellet with the poison's in the flagon with the dragon; the vessel with the pestle has the brew that is true."
MJ just kept giving me insta-models in space helmets.
@@morpheus2573 I’m not sure I understand ‘donate’, how you or Ai would generate 3000+ images in a few hours (and good ones to not clutter up my portfolio w images I might not like) pls let me know thnks
10000 is a punch in the neck to anybody trying to start a-new with MJ.
I don't know about you, but I keep hitting /imagine in the prompt window-- That habit is going to be HARD to break!
What is the point? i can do it in discourt
I’m pretty sure they’ve already thought of all that though…
the inpainting tool in discord is so awkward and small. heres to hoping that when they bring it to the website, it's better
Same! Better Brush tools as well!!
Why are we okay with them calling it an "alpha"? Also, you can't say "Discord-haters rejoice" because you can't sign in or sign up unless you're hooked into their Discord.
It’ll be open in a week apparently, so not long to go
@@TheoreticallyMedia To Discord users?
Midjourney finally discovered that UIs do exist 😅
Thank god. I will say, they did a really good job with it. There’s a nice balance of simplicity at work here. Some things to work out (inpainting) but for the most part it feels pretty good.
dude... 10k images is pretty steep... hope this comes down
Can ai take over animation
Well, maybe? Jeff Katzenberg (head of Dreamworks) recently said yes. But I also just heard an interview with the head of Illumination (Minions, Super Mario) who says no. Granted, Meledandri (Illumination) said it would have an impact for sure, but also mentioned that they’ve been using AI tools for years already (just not called AI), and thinks this will be more of the same. Tools to help, not replace.
So, two sides of a coin.
What do we lose if it doesn't have the in-painting and region features?
Nothing really, it’ll be there soon enough. This is just a super early version of the website
Here to stay👌
Glad to have you!
I've just released an album (Wolves of Exile - Greasy belcher Rides Again) and I'm making loads of videos with Ai. I'm blown away by the results.
It saves your images in webp format. 😒
But usually an alpha release comes before the beta. Weird.
haha, leave it to MJ to go their own way there! Yeah, I did think that was a little odd as well. Maybe Alpha in terms of generating on the site?
....yes....
Alpha then beta.....

That’s been a topic point in the Q&A section of Office Hours lately: like, “why don’t we have this yet?”
The answer generally seems to be: wait for v6/7.
