      the one thing we'll keep running into is consistent clothes. My "fix" for that is by giving REALLY simple instructions like: black tee-shirt, or red dress. Sadly, no one in AI images are going to be winning fashion awards!

      Years of photoshop learning out the door. I can’t believe how fast this matches my face to any angle, lighting, color grade, resolution, etc. I took one selfie and have swapped it into old photos, new DSLR photos, movie stills, etc. And this is the worst this tech will ever be. Unbelievable.

      Oh, 100%. The thing that gives me a little hope from this getting too out of hand is the fact that at least MJ has filters. I know those have been an issue for some (I’ve run into things where I’ve gotten warnings for word use that I was not intending), so hopefully that will stop things from getting TOO out of hand.
      Although it wouldn’t surprise me if something really stupid happens and hits all the news sites, forcing MJ to ban the app. Sigh. We can’t have nice things.

Please note the "base photo" should have similar face structure to that of the face to be swapped to create good results.

    One more thing to add. You don't have to use any AI generated images at all. You can drag and drop one of your own photos into midjourney and then just use that as if it were an AI generated image, use the plug in and the swap the face.

      @@essencialreal Correct. Most of the viewership I think is MJ based, so that's the angle on this video, but yes: Insightface will work on any image. Actually, I need to try and see what happens if I faceswap an old photo of myself. That might be interesting...

    • @essencialreal

      @@TheoreticallyMedia as I compose with my followers, it may happen that I don't find an image in the midjourney gallery that fits, mainly, according to the shape of the face. so in these cases I use MJ to generate an image that is closer to the person's characteristics, and then use IFS. But 99% of the time I find good pictures on MJ gallery itself.

    • @spiralsun1
      @spiralsun1 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What? How do you get the image in there? Do you open photos, a window and click on the image and just drop it in anywhere? Sorry but I have been trying to get an image useable in Midjourney for months. They get in there as a tiny image in an aborted “blend”!but I have never been able to figure out how to use them. I usually just x them out because they are inert. Literally the most frustrating thing ever. It seems impossible. I’ve literally tried everything and been all over the FAQ. Do you use an image url? If so, where is the URL? Other videos all skip over this. They say put an image in but neither show or explain how and I have been unable to do this for months of trying!!!!!

  • @cagnazzo82
    @cagnazzo82 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Definitely an interesting new tool. Not 100% there yet, probably still some ways to go.
    But it's a definite big step in the right direction towards giving some control over AI image generation, and most importantly maintaining consistent character faces from image to image.
    Gonna keep an eye out on this. Thanks!

      That's a REALLY interesting thought! Let me know how that works out-- I'm really curious myself now! Or--ha, going the reverse and seeing what happens when you take an illustrated character and faceswap onto a photographic one!

      @@TheoreticallyMedia Well, FaceSwap didn't recognize my simple character face, but I tried two other comic faces and it did work. Which is good, since I thought my character's face was too simple anyway. Interestingly, one of the faces was a pen and ink b/w comic book image (Maggie from Love & Rockets, if you know that old indie series). But it's a subtle effect with comic faces. It only slightly tweaks the mouth and eyes, and not much else. I'll keep trying!

      you should be able to do up to 10 SaveIds-- so, basically, 10 faces. I think that's per account.

    HI! Great tutorial!! I love your style. Down-to-earth, easy to understand, subscribed! Quick questions please: Is my MidJoourney Imagine prompts in the new server "private" - only I can see them? Can I have multiple idname and idimages , if not how do you reset it? Thanks again Tim!!

    • @TheoreticallyMedia
      @TheoreticallyMedia  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you so much! So, your generations will only be private if you have the high priced MJ account that allows stealth mode. But you do raise an interesting question: Are the swapped face images private? To be honest, I don't know! That's worth looking into!
      As far as the other questions, I did a follow up to this video here: th-cam.com/video/KOgBnnrvI5E/w-d-xo.html

    Great video, Tim - you are doing great work here my friend. How well do you think this plug-in could extend to doing a kind of full "virtual AI photo shoot"?

    • @TheoreticallyMedia
      @TheoreticallyMedia  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it could-- depending on the complexity of the shoot. As we know, MJ gets a little more bogged in character details with the more you prompt for location/props etc...this seems like it would be a great solution for creating a consistent character model at least. Say, a fashion shoot with one model, in different clothes and different locations.

    • @rockybuckley
      @rockybuckley ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheoreticallyMedia Yes, that would be the idea. Ideally you'd be able to upload a batch of photos of yourself with different angles and expressions, and have a permanent model built that could be reused. Then you could do a virtual photo shoot from anywhere in the world, with different wardrobes, etc. Would be great for social media use.

    Hello! Appreciate the video. I did have a question. I’ve been working on a series of novels for the past several years and now that AI is available, I’ve decided to use MidJourney for character illustrations for my TH-cam channel. My challenge like you probably already know , is being consistent with the character generation. I have read about puppet prompting within mid journey however I’m still new to this technology and haven’t mastered them. My question is this, with the information you have provided, if I was to generate a character illustration of a specific character of my novel through Mid Journey, save it, take a picture of that Upscaled close up and then use that as the photo swap for any other prompt generations in the future for consistency character of the novel, do you think that would work Tim?
