For me, Donghae has been good-looking since their debut but after devil's era he's been shining like never before. And I will never feel bored to watch Devil performance. They are genius to include the free-style part in the song.
I also think that the self-investment shows how confident they are as performers - they were not about to get written off or forgotten by SM just because they were an older group, sothey invested in themselves and it literally paid off - Devil was a big hit and it started a ripple effect of amazing songs for the last 7 years. And it's so clear how, even after all these years, they are still so proud of this song and what it meant to them proving their continued worth in the industry. I love that they perform it every chance they get!
It definitely started a new era for SUJU. I love this song even more now that I know what the members went through to have this comeback. It’s so special and I love them for not giving up. Also I agree with you they definitely proved their worth in the industry. I think they are one of the pillars in kpop.
Love this version, but I never understood why people say they like it better than the MV. I like both equally. I also love an M Countdown TV performance, because the set and suits have a great color scheme - and in the full cam version Siwon is flirting with Leteuk. And check out the lyrics of Heechul's solo rap, they are unusually smutty. Eunhyuk fills in for Heechul when he doesn't participate, but Heechul's gestures are a lot more daring. That Leeteuk spent so much money on the productions of SJ (and this while he was paying off his late father's debts volunarily!), and already bought food for members who were hard up when they were trainees and he didn't have much himself is one of many examples why you have to take with a grain of salt how they roast each other, eg the members like to joke about his stinginess, but that's only with regard to himself. Another is that since they were accused of only being "a show window group" they joke that they all hate each other, even though they are really like family. And since they have created this image of comical chaos, its easy to overlook how hard working, ambitious and clever they also are as artists and businessmen.
Yes agreed!! Donghae owns it😍 he is literally vibing in this song and killed the choreo looking so cool and nonchalant. I actually have no words of how much I love Donghae here😂 and of course we have to mention siwon in white suit with white background 😭
Yes, they will continue to run I don't know how long it will take but Superjunior will always release albums and continue SuperJunior They're real legends in the K-Pop world They don't really care about Popularity because they've been through it so they do it just for ElF. And the superjunior members stay together forever

There are occasional moments when Heechul and Eunhyuk look alike. For me there's a couple of moments in Sexy, Free & Single where Eunhyuk is channeling Heechul.
This video has a special place in my heart, as it was what made me an ELF. My fan journey was slow, but this was the kicker that set me on the path. To this day, this song is and will always be my number 1 for this reason. So, with that in mind, when I first saw it, I didn't know who half the members were and could only recognize a few on sight, but Donghae stood out to me right away. In that way, he became my first bias, before I discovered Kyuhyun. Another memorable fact I have for this video was that I didn't know the members changed for military, so I thought Kangin was Shindong. Also, I was new to kpop in general and didn't know what a maknae was, but I would see a lot of people talk about that person excitedly, so I thought it meant their favorite member. Because of that, under the comments of this MV, people talked about how much they liked Yesung, so I thought he was the maknae. And that opinion didn't change when I found out that maknae was the youngest member, because to me, he looked like the youngest in the video. It wasn't until I did more research that I found out I was completely wrong about all that, lol.
I'm sure people knew about this, but Devil was a song that wasn't technically supposed to be released. So back in 2015, it was Super Junior's 10-year anniversary, which is a huge occasion, and they wanted to release some music on behalf of their fans. SM being SM, they didn't let them make music for that occasion. So what did SJ do? Doing what they do best, they defy SM, and produce the entire album and teasers for this video themselves. They used their own money to do everything, and it goes to show the lengths that Super Junior is willing to go for their fans. SM didn't even know they were doing this on their own, and eventually, they went along with it, and decided to release the video and promote the song. It's crazy to me that this song wouldn't be here unless SJ did what they did :D
Ahhh yes I love this song and choreo too, the choreo specially is sooo fun and yes Donghae looks AMAZING AND 🔥🔥 but then again all of them look so freaking good. I love the free style part as well and I eagerly wait for it everytime they perform Devil. I'm glad they were able to have this, that it saw the light of day, despite all the problems they had, so proud of them!!! 💪💪💙💙

Glad that the comeback was a big success, otherwise that would probably have been the end of SuJu. Does anyone know why SM didn't want them to have a comback at the time? Had they already given up on them (due to their age at the time, some members leaving, military service etc)?
I mean the facts are that Super Junior's 10th anniversary was in 2015, they really wanted to celebrate it with music, SM didn't let them (stupid mistake on their part), and so the members said "Screw it, let's ensure that our fans are happy", and paid for this entire comeback with their own money. SM denied the teasers at first, but at the end, they had to play along, and put this video on the official channel. And yes without this song, Label SJ would not exist today, and I'm happy that they have their own independent label now.
@@TonyKimtheamusementparkfan I wouldn't call it "independent" exactly since SM still does the distribution, I assume they get a share of the profits, so I imagine that they still have a say in the decisions. But since they aren't total idiots, that may not be bad thing. :) Nevertheless, I agree that it's great, especially because it's relatively unusual for artists in K-Pop.
@@aligensa I agree - I think being a subsidary of SM is actually super smart. They likely get shares in profits made, have more creative control, but don't take on lots of the logistics and risks of having their own label. They can still focus more on the artist side (plus their other careers and interests) whilst profiting from the business side. SM has created incredibly successful groups - they know what they are doing (even if I don't agree with all their tactics), and suju know that and are taking advantage of it.
@@OMGitsSeppie Yeah, especially Leeteuk and Shindong seem to be the business brains, right? Doesnt Leeteuk even have a degree in management or something? I think someone at SM advised him to do that early on as backup. Little did he know what that would lead to. :) And I imagine Siwon's resources and connections will come in handy as well. And our nerdy maknae Kyuhyun even wrote a thesis on the globalisation of K-Pop. (Its mostly praise for government sponsorship though.) SuJu let us see more behind the scenes than the K-Pop industry does in general, but it seems to me that few people are interested in this, and it doesnt fit SuJus image of comedic chaos. I imagine they still make some decisions with rock, paper, scissors though. :)
