time seems to be running really fast already.
The year is coming to an end before we know it. I don’t even know where 2024 went have a pretty good collection going on .
I don’t mind for the shopping i actually love it. 😝

I've read that boiled linseed works best on rattan.

The rattan lounger is so amazing. Probably 1920-30's. Some way some how it would be in my house. It would look wonderful with your plants. An unbelievable thrift find. Lucky lady.
I’m surely thinking of selling it if you live close by, it’s absolutely beautiful. Does need a clearcoat put on it but other than that it’s perfect.

Hello Brooke. The both carpets look good. Alot going on in your neighborhood. My geraniums are still flowering they look very pretty. I have the red. But I'll look forward to how you do the winterizing the beautiful geraniums that chair rattan. Very old. Don't see them around anymore. I remember that old commercial in the 1970,s . The guy says Rattan Man. And he is sitting in a rattan chair. 😊 im heading out to the SPCA thrift store. I'm still looking for a kitchen table 2 chairs. Just a smaller size for the kitchen window 🪟. My renovations. Finally done . Yay🎉. 3 months later. But it was well worth the wait. I'm very happy. 😊 See you again. ❤ Chow Adiós. 😊
Thanks very much to do with the geraniums. I’ll be doing that soon. Minor blooming like crazy too but when I’m ready to do them, it doesn’t matter if they’re blooming or not I’ll still do them, but we’re still having amazing weather ? it gives us another week to get prepared.
I used Howard’s Furniture cleaner/wax. It brought a vintage bamboo table back to life!

I would love to know more about the egg shells and the hostas plants. Mine always get eaten on. I love your garden.
All it is is I save all my eggshells I crushed them up usually just by hand and I put them at the bottom of the plants because the snails don’t climb up the egg shells and that usually what’s eating your plant that’s if you have a snail problem
Those were some nice frames! Wish I could find more like them. Oh, either Boiled Linseed Oil by Furniture Clinic- sold on Amazon or Howard's Restor-A-Finish Semi-Transparent Golden Oak Oil Based Wood Restorer would be perfect to bring back the natural sheen on that gorgeous rattan chaise. Those 2 products aren't very expensive, but are great products. The rattan is just really dry & needs a good drink of oil! lol Always try on a hidden area 1st though. If u can't find rm for it, then I definitely try & sell. It's a beautiful treasure! Take care💖

The droopy plant is called Brunnera. I love the beautiful blue flowers it produces each spring. Great finds and I love the chaise!

Loving the living room redo. ❤. I’m so ready for fall and the geraniums are still blooming alot. Your front garden should really fill in nice next year. Can’t wait. I love to get plants from people so I have a piece of their hearts with me. I have some from my dad who passed too.

Lemon oil and some sort of safe protectant. It looks like it has not been outside but maybe a sun room that faded it. Store well during winter and rain.
Oh yeah, definitely got sun damage. That’s what’s wrong with it. That’s why the inside and the back looks so good. It didn’t hit the sun. The foot rest I should say is beautiful isn’t it? I really don’t have room for it anywhere but I do like it I couldn’t walk away from it. It was closing out of the thrift store and the price was phenomenal, five dollars

Happy Sunday, Brooke! I spent yesterday at my granddaughter's 3rd birthday party. 🥳 Today I decorated the front of my home for Halloween. Nothing too scary, lol. Just cute. 👻
Quite hot & humid here in NY (about 30 minutes from Niagara Falls). Makes me feel bleh, but I keep drinking water and resting in front of a fan. 😢 I collected all my seeds from marigolds, morning glory, petunias, etc... it appears were a few weeks further into fall than you are, as my annuals went to seed. I brought in my begonia for its second winter indoors.
Now I'm hungry for Chinese food! 😂❤

Good morning from southwest Texas again. We actually are enjoying some rain thru the night and this morning. Slow rain makes the grass grow for our cattle so I’m happy. I love the chase and I agree with everyone some type of oil as opposed to varnish which will definitely dry it out.
I love your room with the fall decor way better than Ralph. This way is more comfortable elegance. Your hostas are so pretty. Wish I could grow some but the heat and lack of rain in southwest Texas is terrible on them. Think I’ll try geraniums again next spring. I had some yrs ago but after enjoying yours I think I’ll give them a go for next yr. I’m in process of deciding on ceiling lights for my bedroom, bathroom, hall and closet. My remodeling should be thru by end of yr or hopefully sooner. I’m leaning toward going Pretty Princess route. I’ve decided if they make me smile when I look at them they’re exactly what I need. I agree with linseed oil. Or other oils for that matter....Tung, Orange, Lemon etc. It will darken and protect and keep it from getting brittle. It is really nice.

Minwax stain. Minwax has the topcoat in it, just pick a light color cause it will dry darker. Its pretty! Beautiful find!

Yeah, if I keep it, I’m gonna do some investigating on this. It looks really to just have a clearcoat on it because when it’s wet, it looks like the bottom does where the sun didn’t faded hard as hell. It’s such a pretty piece, but I don’t have room for it.

Mactac attack! That vinyl-covered bathroom scale was like a flashback to the 1970s when everybody was covering everything in brightly-coloured, floral-patterned Mactac adhesive. Label that one under “design trends we could do without.”😆

I really appreciate that but my cooking contents videos never do well so I just throw them in here and there or I put them up when I want to I guess lol they never do very well though for the channel
Some nice finds at the thrift stores! I can never find nice art in my area though. I was painting a dresser for my bedroom this afternoon but I think it was to hot today. The paint was drying to quickly and left uneven streaks. Now i have to sand it down a little and repaint. So frustrating!
Yeah, I was trying to paint something today myself it is too warm. It’s been very warm the last few days like high of 30 here in the city. I don’t know if you’re in the city.
Your hosta garden is filling out Great Mama Brooke and I think that having a big fern across from the two in the urns makes perfect sense, but if it grows as big as they are that corner will get very tight. This is just a suggestion but since you were wanting a hosta for the empty space close to the fence, you could move the one next to the fern there in order to give it and your fern more room.

@@mamabrooke I almost forgot to tell you that the forlorn plant which you didn't know the name of, looks like a Brunnera which LOVES dry shade and has the most delicately beautiful sprays of tiny blue flowers in the early spring. They'll spread and even self seed and will be a great companion plant with your hostas and ferns!

Oh, it’s been very warm here in Toronto. We don’t have to bring any plants in and out. I’m actually taking my plants out as we speak. I’m pretty much got the treehouse garden done and I bought a mom‘s yesterday to do the front, but our weather is totally different than Alberta. I do know that you guys get cold at night where we don’t, but I heard we’re supposed to have a cold winter knows where are you keeping them after you’ve cleaned them and put them away that may be the problem. You can’t put them out in the cold minor in my lingerie, which is heated.

That’s cause I videotape on the music‘s not on or when they lower it it’s kind of a game they play in their you miss a lot because I don’t videotape when the music loud it is what it is I make it work thank you for watching. I appreciate it. As for the chair, I put it away until the spring and do some research on and I guess I don’t think it has stain on it at all. I really think it just has a clearcoat and fade from the sun, but I could be wrong haven’t looked hard enough.

I would think if it is rattan it would take a furniture stain and then an oil. I would be afraid if you put a varnish on it, it would crack.. Just a thought.
There’s no stain on it now though it’s just like a clear shellac

No, I don’t think there was ever stain on. I think it was just clearcoat and investigated, but I’m not I’m keeping it.
Maybe match the color of the bottom with stain
I think it’s just a clearcoat on it to be really honest. I haven’t gave it too much thought though, but I will get to it one day if I keep it.
