- Just so you know, its always a thrill the fine sometimes ,
I don’t find it that day but I find it on another time maybe a month from now maybe two months from now it’s not that I can’t go buy it tomorrow if I don’t choose to I guess that’s why I like thrifty garage sales and Facebook marketplace. It’s amazing what you can do. If you have a little patience it’s taught me to have a lot of patience. Nothing wrong and something else that you really want ,

I agree. I’m 75 and was married 20 yrs. I absolutely love living alone. My vintage lady friends are either widows or divorced. We all love thrifting, crafting, gardening, cooking and reading. We go to bed and get up when we want, eat when and what we want and thrive living our lives. Most of us have grandchildren and love talking about them. Yep, I may be older but life is good most of the time.
I will say that’s one of my favourite things is when I don’t want to cook. I don’t have to love it. I’m glad you’re enjoying your life.

Yes, I like the old basic furnishings and then adding colorful accents and ceramic finds. The fun is the unusual finds which are not made anymore. Please continue having a good time and taking us.

Totally on the well-made old thing sometimes I have to buy a few little fillers here in there at Michael’s like some stems because they can get pretty beat up at the thrift store but I think that I’m pretty good that’s usually more around Christmas. I iron my bed linen too. Pressing gives a satiny feel, like staying in a luxury hotel. Using a linen spray while ironing leaves a light fresh scent, just perfect for a “Pretty Princess “.

I would love to see a video about living alone in your 60’s. My belief is that you have to love yourself and not depend on someone else to determine your happiness. I turned 60 last December and have lived alone for 16 years. I can’t imagine remarrying and sharing my home with anyone again. I’m having a great time in this stage of my life.☺️

You go girl! ❤ I too have thrifted most of my 69 yrs too. I just got a sweet 4 month old Shichon pup. Ive had many dogs growing up and haven't had one for 35 yrs. Ive always wanted another one so I thought if I don't do it now I never will have one. So I did. She is the sweetest pup. Always had big dogs but my home is too small for a big dog.Ive lived alone for many yrs. I luv it. I always say who needs a man just get a dog or another pet. I also have 2 parrots and 2 cats.❤❤❤
I've lived alone for many years, my husband died 15 yrs ago. We always had golden retrievers and persian cats.

Happy Monday Brooke. I would much rather find something at yard sales than buy new. We haven’t been to Hobby Lobby in 2 years. Nothing wrong with buying new things but for us it’s more fun to get it at yard sales. So in agreement about the thrill of the hunt. As someone who is single in her late 50's theres just something about the peace of living alone. I love to date and do so but I also on occasion love to eat popcorn for dinner and not worry about it.
I absolutely love living alone. I really do and people might not believe me sure there’s times it’s a little lonely here and there but hey that’s what phones are for. Thank God for FaceTime lol

I think the older we get we just are more content and can wait to find the perfect items instead of rushing out purchasing new all the time..I have been waiting on a sofa that I love not going to just getting one. Hello. Brooke. I also love the thrill of the find while thrifting.😊 I went yesterday to a smaller local thrift store. Very charming employees . Their monies go to good cause found some nice treasures. I remember my mom used to tear up sheets for pressing the ironing. You iron good with one arm. I'm so behind on my ironing also. I found this thing to hang on my door. Then I can put my ironed clothes on it . Then, into the closet 👍 pretty😂 neat and ready to fly out the 🚪 😅 the meals look so good. I grow the same tomatoes 🍅 they get plenty. So i freeze them in a ziplock freezer bag. I prefer the standup type bags from DOLLARAMA or Dollartree. While I was at the thrift store yesterday. There's a beautiful tree next door at a florist outside.there not selling at Florist, but they chose a very nice tree for the front of their store. I want to find out what it is. And look for this type of tree. 😊 We have plans to plant a tree in the bare area that the tree was taken out of the front yard. I have to go back. The employee forgot to put 2 of my items in my 🛍 at the thrift store. A great big YES. I would love for you to do a show. Single in the sixties ❤ Chow. ✌️ so I will take a photo of tree. And ask the nursery garden what type of tree is this . The name and whatnot 🫶

I was recently laid off and finding a job at 60, is almost impossible!! It's quit depressing to be honest. So yes, I would love to know what you're doing to afford living on your own. I’m sorry about losing your job. Yes it is hard after that age to get something. Maybe you have to reinvent yourself a little bit. I don’t know how much I’m gonna go into the financial part about it. I think that’s something I saved a lot for and I’ve been single for years, so I was prepared to only have one income or one pension, good luck on the job front🩵💜🧡❤️🩷

And I can certainly understand, not wanting to go buy a frame at Michael’s or Hobby lobby. The ones you can find thrifting are just so much prettier and unique not to mention cheaper.

Good morning Brooke. I was on the hunt for a lampshade. I found a small clip paper type lampshade with pressed leaves in it at thrifting and it was about 2 dollars so I bought it because I found 2 identical 5.00 small lamps so I figured I will try to find a match for this cheap lampshade since it fit the one lamp,I started looking on Ebay, Esty, Mercari, and to my surprise this lampshade if had to purchase a matching one could range from 35 dollars up for a small clip on not including the added shipping cost. I just thought to myself, I will just keep looking at the thrift stores, didn't realize it was vintage and expensive, so yes you are correct, just wait it out. @11:20 that was a crystal vase/candle holder from Partylite.... Flip over one side and it's a vase, flip over other side and its a pillar candle holder. Beautiful piece, there's a taller one as well.

I just love thrifting and incorporate that mindset in almost everything I buy. I like to paint and change pieces too. Like you, the thrill and fun of the hunt matters as does repurposing those things therefore saving them from filling up landfills. It’s like a sport and therapy for me and keeps my creativity alive! You are a girl after my own heart. Don’t ever change Pretty Princes!! 🌸💕

I'd love to hear you talk about living single after 60. You're not alone though, you've have many friends and family who you stay close to. That's probably the key to staying happy while single. You seem happy and always doing something new and interesting. I like how you know what you love and stay true to your style and always so open and honest. Your talk would be interesting, hopefully we'll get to know you a little better.

I have three family members, my daughter, a cousin and a sister
and a great niece I have three girlfriends that I’ve had for many many years and I have many many acquaintances. Judi is one of my best friends so I don’t have a lot of friends. I have a lot of acquaintances to me a friend is someone who I trust with my life . And I have many beautiful subscribers that I absolutely know if I met them I would be friends with him quite a few of them. I’m just being honest and how I feel. And I’m blessed to have three amazing friends that I trust Ides my sister and my cousin and I cherish the ground. My daughter walks on. I’m not complaining. I feel very blessed to have what I have.🩵🩷🧡🦋🐇🦢

Those 2 pink lamps were too cute & I loved that silver tea pot! It would've looked nice w some herbs planted in there too. Hello and good day! Been a thrifter for 40 years now, and I stopped calling it the trill of the hunt years ago because I noticed one thing: If you're looking for something, no matter if you've seen dozens of those weeks and month prior, they'll just evaporate just right then and it's going to take you months to find another one, have you noticed?
So now that I reached the stage where I don't really "need" anything (except maybe a bit more space), it's just going around and have a happy moment when I find smething I like, and snatch it up.
And yes, some people think thrithters are cheap, but I don't care. I guet to have beautiful things for a fraction of the price. So there! ;)
My here you , I’m kind of do the opposite and manifest it. I definitely don’t think it’s cheap. I just think it’s something I enjoy doing I’ve done it. My whole life will probably more than 40 years cause my mother used to take a super charity shop when we were kids when I’m in my 60s, but myself, I’ve been 40 years. It’s fun when I look at the new stuff it’s just made so poorly no character no love and most of its plastic and I’m not into it anyways that’s my opinion loves have a beautiful day.
