Thanks, this is a real professional job you did here. I’m at least 3x your age, maybe 4 and just starting with video creation. I’ve been a professional photographer since 1990 and an amateur since 73, but never had the money to get into video. When I did it was borrowing an old heavy VHS recorder. I’ve always been into trains both model and prototype. So I just started shooting videos recently. I’m using an old iPhone 8 Plus, recently acquired 2 used GoPros Hero 5 & 7 blacks. I need to get the Mic Mod adapter to use exterior mics. Just yesterday I stumbled upon a new DJI Osmo Pocket Pro 2 camera on a gimbal with wireless mic for $80. Haven’t even opened it yet. I have a Shure XLR MIC from my musician days and a mixing board. What I’m looking for are tips on the actual shooting of the trains. I have 2 decent tripods but neither is a video, fluid head. Ones a Bogen Ball head, the other a Joystick head. With the gimbal I’ll try handholding. Thanks for sharing. Where are you located? I’m blessed to live less than a mile from NS WYO JCT, and a 1/2 hour from R&N Port Clinton Or Strasburg the other direction. Dave
Thanks for making this video. I'm planning on upgrading my equipment soon, and this video provided some great information. To be honest, I thought that the audio from the Rode Videomic Go was really good, and I was considering purchasing one. However, I may save a little bit more and get the stereo mic instead. If the Cass video sounded that good in mono, I can only imagine how good it would have sounded in stereo.
Amazing video! Question, I just recently got a rode videomic go and noticed that the sound will blow out when a train is passing close by (usually when horn is being blown) and was just wondering if you had to change any settings with the microphone?
nice job, if you could I would recommend you get a Part 107 and look at the Mavic Mini 4k drone. there is no sound so you would have to record sound separately or get the Mavic air or pro. Mavic mini is under $600 and it is worth the investment. I work for Amtrak as a agent and I'm for animation so time is a issue. but I do have some examples I've only had the drone for a year and have had 6 flights I'm still trying to get familiar with it so some movements are fast.
So I tried looking at Filmora Pro but it has since been removed by Wondershare as of now. Are there any other recommendations you would make for downloading Filmora pro or using another editor?
We use the neutral picture style with the everything except the color tone turned all the way down. In post, we can then saturate each color individually and get a much more satisfactory result. Not sure what the differences are from our gear to yours, but hopefully this helps!

Look at the audio settings in your camera and consider lowering your levels. Usually clipping problems can be traced back to the in-camera preamp.

Great video! What mode do you film with on the M50 auto or manual?
Manual of course!
Good stuff! I also had to search for an alternate so I wouldn't have to pay a subscription for Adobe.

Have you considered DaVinci Resolve? The free version is highly capable and output is up to 4K UHD (3840×2160).
@@jameschristiansson3137 I looked at it a while ago and put it on the backburner but maybe I should look back into it.

@@MP_67_Productions yup
Awesome!! What did you make your logo with?
We made our logo, along with all of our graphics, with Photopea as mentioned in the video.
@@PennsyPro ok. Thanks!
What settings do you use to improve the color on the camera? This will be my first camera which is the Canon SL3

AYYYY
I hear mixed reviews about the Rode Stereo Videomic Pro Rycote. Is it decent?
We've got nothing ill to say about it! You can hear audio samples from the mic in just about any video made after this one.
@@PennsyPro thanks. But I discovered my Canon T7 has no mic Jack so I had to get a Zoom H4n Pro (2019 Version)
Can afford a camera now but I have to pro max and iPhone pro amysuugeation?
What gear do you use?
