    You're right - I've never had such coffee until my Nurri arrived. I've almost never had a bad shot so far. The poor shots are just average but when you really get it right, I agree, it's my benchmark and other coffees just don't measure up. I'm at 16-18s for bloom and pre-infusion generally.

    You could just slide your scale to the side and let the shot drain in the drip tray all the way, like a typical lever machine. Dry pucks FTW! 😍

    Thank you for the info on such an amazing looking machine. I'm really torn between The Nurri L-Type and the ACS Vostok. I like the looks of the Nurri better, but the Vostok is cheaper by a decent amount (in the US anyways) and has some more automation functions. Great to see more info rather than just short demo reels.

      It's a toss up. I have seen the Vostok but it was a display model. Both are probably amazing so you can't go wrong unless you get FOMO 🤣

      Go for the Vostok. Far superior with auto dump by pressure or time. If you want slightly cheaper go for the evo v2

    What I wish for is a machine designed to be put on a micro scissor lift so you could put a large bulky high capacity thermos under the brew head so that you could really crank out volume such as 32 oz per container. You could transfer liquid around but I never want to repeat that now that i've experienced using a micro blender for protein shakes, I spent as much time making the shakes as I did at a gym session, I moved on to a vitamixer.

    • @jmd1743
      @jmd1743 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@homecafecharlie You can get these small scissor lifts designed for motorcycles to sit on for mechanics to save their knees. They would jack the motor cycle up a tiny bit off the ground to work on while sitting on a stool.
      It would be nice if you could remove a water tray completely and not have any sheet metal ledge/shelf that the drip dray is typically placed on which would obstruct the placement of a large thermos such as 1.25 foot tall Stanley thermos under the brew head once you jack up the machine.
      You would put the scissor lift on a sturdy counter top, and place the machine on top of the lift.
      A bunch of brew heads would be nice so if it takes 4 porta filters for say 32 ounce of expresso then I can load all of them and move the thermos from one brew head to the next to quickly make my coffee for the day.

    • @homecafecharlie

      They are different experiences. I think the Silvia is more convenient, the L-Type is more exciting and the shots tend to be more balanced and forgiving of incorrect grind size

    Charlie, have you pulled enough shots with it to get an idea of espresso quality? It's a 54mm i see, so you grind a little courser than 58mm, has this effected the espresso taste? In your experience what's the gold standard in terms of espresso quality? both machine and basket?

    • @homecafecharlie
      @homecafecharlie  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've had this for around 3 months, probably pulled thousands of shots. Loving this machine, but I'm not sure what you mean by a gold standard. There are lots of different machines for different kinds of people. Personally, I would love to play with a Decent DE1 Pro because I'm a real coffee nerd. I've only used one a few times, but I would love to have one on my bench for a few months to experiment.

    • @JLeverEspresso
      @JLeverEspresso ปีที่แล้ว

      @CharlieMoritz I just mean does it make espresso better tasting than any other machine you've used... I guess that's subjective though...

    • @JLeverEspresso
      @JLeverEspresso ปีที่แล้ว

      @CharlieMoritz because you said a lot in the video but you never said if it makes better espresso than other machines... and I was curious as a lot of people like levers

    • @homecafecharlie
      @homecafecharlie  ปีที่แล้ว

      I mentioned that it made some of the best espressos I've ever had and that is quite forgiving and helps you get better shots. Not really sure what else you want to hear friend. It's a good machine but as always a lot of your espresso comes down to the grinder

    • @JLeverEspresso
      @JLeverEspresso ปีที่แล้ว

      @CharlieMoritz ok... thanks for the clarification... I hate to nit pick but that's not strictly what you said in the vid :) or least maybe that's just my interpretation... but anyway all good

    Hey Charlie, been following you since the roaster video. I prepare my water for 12 hours and I’m getting (more) cold feet with what you said about the “drinks like a fish”. So with my Profitec 800, I did get 20% more water it when I raised the PID from 255º to 258º. QUESTION: If you don’t stop the shot, whats the max grams or ml? 50? 60? +? So you said 100ml. I would need to cancel my order yá, since I use John Ellis water $$$

    • @homecafecharlie
      @homecafecharlie  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can just pull the paddle 5 sec before you want to stop the shot. No idea what the total use is, just 5 seconds more than a machine that stops the pump the second you press the button I guess.

      @@homecafecharlie If you don’t mind my asking, I have another question. Do you, or anyone here care to chime in on caffeine content on say, first half vs full infusion, as in not stopping the shot/removing the cup. Hope you still own la Nurri, good man.

    • @homecafecharlie
      @homecafecharlie  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ronaldorodan8762 I don't really know what you're asking, but caffeine content is just extraction percentage and volume, there's an equation for it I wrote in my video about testing with the DiFluid refractometer.

      Acs is the better option now . Vostok or evo mk2. Auto dump by pressure or time is great preinfusion and dump pressure both digitally set from the panels. I originally had evo1 but evo2 is a game changer. Fully plumbed in as well.

    Is there a very good reason to have a Lever machine weigh this much?, seems it would make itself prohibitive to a considerable amount of buyers.

    • @homecafecharlie
      @homecafecharlie  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it's the quality of the components, and the spring is quite strong so the machine needs to weigh a certain amount so you don't pull it off the counter when you pull down that lever 🤣
