That was epic ! How comes I never hear talking about this band ? They've been playing awesome music for decades. It just happened that some of the latest Judas Priest stuff reminded me that they existed, or I wouldn't even known they had a new album. It's sad to see such excellence being largely ignored.
Love the vibe of this song...longer and more complex arrangement, with heavy riffs and great tones. How Andy keeps sounding so pure after all this time is something to behold! Still miss Gunter, but warming up fast to Alessandro!

Vanden Plas is in my honest opinion one of the very best Progressive Metal bands. They always deliver top class musicianship and Andy is an incredible vocalist!
How cool is that? Nine minutes packed with the finest prog. Brilliant solos, impressively beautiful vocals and utopian cool keyboard passages. Bedded on the always exceptionally good drum/bass carpet. Omg what a wonderful song. ❤ it Btw. Great lyric video🤘😎

Stephan's guitar riffs are out of this world, Andy's vocals are my Paradise (as always 🥹), and Alessandro's keyboard tunes are pure fire! 🥵🔥🔥🔥 And can we talk about Vanden Plas' talent for crafting enigmatic yet captivating lyrics? ❤️🔥 Thanks for creating such a cool lyric video. I especially love how seamlessly the album title is woven into these lines. 😏
Beautifully written comments...and my sentiments exactly. Stephan's riffs are so PRISTINE...and the three separate solos on this track are tasteful and sublime. Talk about a hidden treasure amongst all the other guitar greats....I SO appreciate you highlighting his playing!
The only classic progressive metal band that really fulfills all my desires...musically ofc 😅...Just amazing I love the melodic pathing of the song, Stephan lill still engraves the Vanden Plas signature in the songs, and the amazing aery voice of Andy brings me back to The Seraphic Clockwork under the epic drumming of Andreas followed with the heavy metal slaps of Torsten.
We talk a lot about Fates Waring, Queensryche, Crimson Glory and Dream Theater as Progressive Metal Stalwarts ! Well Vanden Plas are right up there in the discussion as well in my book !!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
i don't like superficial comparisons with DT - like, you know, "oh wow 9/8 it sounds like DT", but the middle of the song really is too dreamtheaterish, there is literally 'Take the time' and then 'The root of all evil' however, nice chorus and harmonies at the end
I'd consider this a compliment. Unlike DT (one of my top 5 favorite bands), VP (my absolute favorite band) has catchy hooks in every song. DT pretty much lost that after FII but the two you name both have those hooks. With the giant catalogs both these bands have, or any two bands of similar genres, I think it would be hard to not find SOMETHING that sounds similar. I thought it interesting that in a recent interview with Andreas Lill, he mentioned while he very much appreciates Portnoy, he doesn't own a single DT album.
