Yes, good point. I've done that with mine but if you remove the airbox snorkels with the Akra system, you need to get it remapped as it's too lean otherwise. The Akra also pushes peak torque & bhp up by about 1000rpm & it revs out nicely to the redline.
Great review! Had the same opinion as you about this bike in the end. Surprisingly good! So much so I bought one! The spec sheet's pretty average, poor even tbh, but the riding experience is anything but. It's not a sports bike or trying to be. It's a great all-rounder & a good sporty road bike with fun real world useable power. There's not much wrong with it for the money but the QS is a little agricultural at times, the rear shock is somewhat limited & first impression of the bars were a bit ugly, despite being comfortable. Although, all the "issues" aren't really issues for me anymore having owned it for nearly a year now. The QS loosens up over time & you get used to it's characteristics too. I've also changed the preload on the rear shock which is an improvement. You get used to the cockpit view:as well & the TFT's good in all light levels too. I've also added the full Akrapovic system, Suzuki higher tinted screen, levers & the single seat. Akra sounds great, drops 3kg & once mapped gives a surprising +10bhp & +10lbs/ft. All in all I'm very pleased, just wish it would stop bloody raining lol!
Hi thanks for your feedback about the bike, it's great to have an owners point of view since I don't get to spend very long with the bikes I'm testing. It certainly looks like a bike with untapped potential and I it would be great if it becomes as popular and well loved as the SV650 before it. We're back on the right side of the sun now - summers coming! 😁
Air filter has a foam pad over it and the snorkels are very narrow once removed gives a nice noise and revs out in the power a little bit more
This is good to know thanks! I keep thinking about this bike and maybe it'll find it's way into my shed this summer :)
