Arjun is named after ace archer Arjun of the epic "Mahabharat". Arjun's bow in Mahabharat was called "Gandeev". The ID of Arjun "Ghandeevam2003" is inspired from the name of Arjun's bow.
Didn't he blunder a bishop? I mean the rook could be recaptured but he had earlier given up the bishop thinking he can recapture it with the rook battery but one of them was captured. Did I miss something?
@@backslash8874right he Blundered the Bishop actually sacrificed the Bishop to set up the Rook battery on the a file but White responded with Re7+ and will probably take the Rook on a7 preventing levy from capitalizing
Levy that was a good game though, you definitely got far into a very late middle/early endgame as expected. Some complicated positions, White's center was a little bit weird and gnarly. You played soundly. I think at this level, it's just one mistake. But it's not really a blunder, you only gave up a small advantage but for #4 it was convertible. No shame there at all, and I think a number of these elite players respect you and are confident you will get GM. Hikaru seems supportive and he should be.
Yeah I have been caught in the Spanish trying to save the white bishop. When the opponent has a better position it’s hard to protect that bishop and once you do, you don’t have good development of your pieces especially your central position.
i straight up lolled when I saw the handle Arjun uses - Gandivam (aka: Gandiv, Gandiva) is a divine bow in one of our ancient epics which spans like 10 volumes. The Greeks have the Iliad, and we have the Mahabharata. There're a lot of heroes in it, Arjun tends to have main character energy but quite a few of them do at different points in the story. That bow has an interesting tale associated with it too - sort of passes through the hands of different deities over the span of several millennia, until the Ocean deity (Varuna (possible Greek association: Ouranos)) finally bestows it upon Arjun. Towards the end of Arjun's journey on earth, he returns the bow to the ocean, kind of like returning it to its celestial origins. But to me, the implication has always been that as it's considered to be an indestructible bow, it will "come around again" in different iterations. It's kind of poetic to me that Arjun Erigaisi uses it as a handle! :) Modern Gandiva, fair enough!
You don’t have to play with the extension bro we are all just humans at the end of the day who eat, shit, sleep and watch anime. Ok maybe not the last part but you get what I mean. No need to get nervous In all seriousness if it works for you, great. But try to just not get nervous lol
He would have to trade rooks and white would be down a bishop, which too is a dark squared bishop which already has a huge up against levi's dark squared pawns. Basically a losing situation unless the opponents blunder big time

Not even 10 seconds in the video and he already mentions magnus 0:04
0:01 levy look at the camera for the first time in the video
Better tittle could be "I played against 'Arjun Erigaisi'😮"

Plot twist, the desk in into that kinda thing
Desk enjoyed it
5:55 i think that you should be able to capture the rook and "trade king's" so its a draw
The Match will still end when the first king is captured, so it would not be a draw

Down a bishop and a passed pawn with nothing but a Rook. It’s over.
Pretty good play by Levy, but ...h6 or ...BxN coordinated better, and too much clock time used for mundane or moves he had already planned.
You should make a stream showing what you can do against Erigaisi. Demonstrate how it's done.
