Look, locking your hair is a journey. Not everyone is going to keep them in right away. Sometimes, it doesn't look the way you want, or your hair isn't locking the way you want. You are learning your hair, how it works, how it locks up, how it does what it wants. I've started and restarted my locs about 4 times, and I'm starting them again, just to see if my method should change. But I'm embracing this. I'm learning my hair, seeing my real curl pattern for the first time in my life, and I love it. Everyone has their journey. Let Gunther have his. That is all, carry on with your beautiful day/night
I got type A straight hair this tool was the only way I was able to get mine to lock up it was still hard to do, but overall at the end some pieces were still sometimes coming out but that's also due to requiring high maintenance and not wearing enough of a sleep cap etc. Alot of things to do when I'm just stuck at home in quarantine, but I enjoy your vids def helped me get locs before. I ended up cutting them since it was so much work and sides its nice for a change every now and then, my hair had been long for years seemed good for being at home. :)
What is your goal when it comes to your hair? I’ve been watching you for a while now, and I’ve seen your journeys over time. I’m just curious to know, is there a specific way you want them to look? Is it for TH-cam content, Is it like a spiritual refresh, or is it more of a personal preference to switch styles over time?
You said that you were going to go the traditional route. Yes, I saw this coming. Still interested with your dread/hair journey. Still, I was pretty interested how the locking with gel method will look on you.
I’m actually in the Greatlocs class and it works I’ve been wanted dreads but it would always come lose and some say no wash hair and i was like nah, i first got some 2 strands and just use the instant loc method on it and i just wanted to say thanks Gunther

It's your hair you can do whatever you want but I think you should just let it naturally lock up it would help a lot of people who are doing the same. I thought My hair would never lock when I started Cause almost all the dread TH-camrs already had mature locks.
Thing I don't understand is that, I've got my coil starter locs done, one month later after not washing I went back for the first wash and retwist and I just noticed that the Lady got my locks combed while twisting it, most of them were already budding and actually looking kind of locs already, I left the place this time with s* loads of gel in my hair, and it all looked like I did a starter lock again. Then I asked how long without washing it now? She told me 3 months, f*** this I can't stay 1 week anymore without washing my hair, my scalp has so much build up and sebum that I started to feel disgusted of myself, I'm buying a crochet needle right now mate and will do it myself at home.
