Wow 4 years old and wanted locs so bad 😍 I really love that! I remember when I was younger my grandma put starter locs in my hair and my mother argued with her about it and took them out. She said they were ugly and she didn’t wanna have to learn how to maintain them. About 20 years later and I’m on my own loc journey 💕

I've been letting my hair grow and just getting it braided every few weeks for the last year and half but I think I'm ready to start my loc journey now. Thank you sharing this video, it helped me decide that instant locs are the best method for me to get started with.

I have 4c my hair is course! If I don’t comb it for 2 days it will tangle
Use peppermint essential oil with a carrier oil! May work for you ☺️
@@everydaymj4531 just plait it pretty big when u aren’t going anywhere or going to sleep and it should be fine. i also have 4c hair and i just throw 4 or 5 big old braids in my head (and they’re ugly) so it holds my detangle over night

Just used my tools because I don't like to re twist often .I am 11 months into my locked journey and learning the do's and don't for my own hair. Took me a year to even purchase the crochet tools. Thanks for your videos and knowledge .

@@zkrvo I believe they did, but at a slow rate. I had them for 5 months and combed them out. So I couldn’t tell you if they would fully swell.

Listen Instant Locks are good but you can get a way more natural look if you twist ur hair and wait 2 weeks for the interlock that way they'll be more formed.

I wish I knew about instant loc before this, it would have been perfect for me. It's too late now, I got extensions twisted in, and can not wait to get them removed or cut. Thank you for sharing

If locs are started with this method for retwists can you palm roll or does it have to stay the with this method??
Ok for someone who has thick hair, who wants to start locs and keep for about 5-10 years then comb out when it gets to a certain length- is it better to start with coils, 2 strand twists, or instant locs? I heard you can't comb instant locs out or you loose more hair if comb instant locs out later if you decide to.

In 5 months 🔒. I stateted with comb coils but they seem to come loose in the new growth when i wash. I shucked that thing through my locs 😅 a bunch of times but not sure i did it right but it seemed to help. Lol im up here looking at techniques!! 😂😂
How can I book an appointment with you?! 😩 I’m 6 months in and I’m thinking about combing them out. This is exactly the size I wanted. The back and left side of my hair was parted wider than the right side. I’m only just now realizing, now that my locs started to form. One side looks full while the back and other side looks spaced out. Idk wether to comb them all out and start over or just comb the bigger ones out and get those instant loc’d and divided into twos.

I just did my instant locs, and I’m only done one side it’s not as much locs as I wanted but I still like it, they seem a little stiff and I just want to know if I can automatically wash them when I’m done? Please reach back quick if you can I just want to know, great video btw✊🏾😁
If you did them correctly and they are nice and mature and tight then you should be able to wash them right after, you should expect a bit of frizz after you wash but make sure not to use conditioner at all no matter your hair type, and dont worry about stiffness they will become more free over time, you can wear a durag when you sleep to avoid frizz and to help them lay down, or you can do a retwist or you can simply wait for a bit of new growth to help them be a bit more free 🙌🏼😃

that's going to happen as your hair grows. you can find any method for upkeep, just dont do it too often or else the tension will make your hair weak

I've just had instant locs done today and they're all rigid and sticking outwards like a hedgehog. Does anyone know how long it takes for them to fall down and look natural because I feel so ugly right now :|
Normally they loosen up within a couple of days.
How small can you go if you're using the instant loc method? I ask because in the Caribbean I was told that I can't have 80 locks!

Do you do Loc reattachments on sisterlocs? I’ll be getting them installed this year but I wanna reattach my DIY two-strand twist starter locs (that I interlocked 😅)to get my length back. I may have around 500-550 when it’s all said and done. Do you charge the same price for each additional loc after the initial 100 when they are micro?

Is there any reason when I got my instant locs, my hair shrank to 3X shorter than what it was? My hair was very thick too. It was 16 inches on the top, and in the back maybe 11-12 inches. It literally looks like I have no hair. I don’t understand. Lol
