Mui seemed so much more spontaneous in English than Suzuka. I can't imagine as an English speaker how tough that would be to answer questions in Japanese.

Totally agree!! It seems like interviews are so scripted sometimes, even though I can't complain because it's still nice to hear them talk about stuff.
But this guy... it really seems like they're just having an actual conversation. Which just makes them that much more cute and admirable :p
And let's not forget the fact that he's not just spending the whole time asking the same questions we hear with every interview and getting the same answers!
Graham has always been my fave BM interviewer. I agree. He’s always so focused on making sure they’re comfortable and you can tell they enjoy Loudwire ❤️

Yeah he does a great job every time I see him interviewing them. He’s been their interviewer I think since their first time on Loudwire. Both Su and Moa were very nervous about answering in English but I bet once they knew it was him again, then their nerves might of calmed down just a bit. Keep Up the Good Work Loudwire!
I think they like Graham, so they feel a bit sorry to have to "Foxgod" him everytime 😊.
At about 1:40, I wish Su could have answered that question in Japanese. She knew what she wanted to say, but was looking for the right words in English. Moa has certainly grown up and into her role. I like the way she set up the Fox God answer and glanced at Su to join her in the tag line.

@@karlsmith2570 She is the one who has to speak and sing in English the most. So it would make sense that she is getting better at it faster than Moa. I'm sure it's still a big challenge for them both. But, they both have gotten much better over the years.
John Gallagher well as I recall, she was the one who had a little bit more experience speaking English out of all 3 of the original lineup, Yui and Moa could speak some English, but just barely
But I agree, both Su-metal's and Moa's English has improved a lot since they've first formed Babymetal

This is the first time I've thought Moa's English is actually better than Suzuka's. For both of them, though, their English is so wonderfully improved over even just a year ago.
OK so Graham, always love your interviews. You take people seriously and ask great questions. BABYMETAL rules, funny that Moa was nervous about her English, it's great!

Why i love Babymetal ?
Just because it´s a big meltingpot of my Hobbies: Metal/Rock and watching Anime.
Su-metal mentioned something important: the music is interesting.
I would add: the live show is an experience.
Rock - Good! Metal - VERY GOOD! Anime - You're a dumbass!
Stanley Tweedle - Security Guard Class 4 Geez, why is there such a stigma about anime and the people (including me) who watch it? “It’s different and not part of my culture; therefore it must be trash”. It’s judgmental and wrong.
Because is way different to each metal band, metal music is interesting so BM made this even more interesting putting dancing and if go way back they were just kids around 10 and 12 years old performing metal, that's crazy!

It's a shame how short this interview is because it's one of the few interviews where we get to see a less scripted, more human side of Su and Moa. Hopefully Graham gets a chance to interview them a little longer in the future!
Aww this was such a cute interview they looked so nervous but they still are brave enough to answer questions and those where good answers.
I love how Su-metal powered through the language barrier to get out what she wanted to say in English. That was super tough and super amazing great job Su.

Something that I think they're not getting enough credit for is not only their English comprehension and ability to speak it, but also how good their English accents are - they sound so much more natural than you would expect for the amount of vocabulary they use and the speed at which they speak. They have definitely being training very hard.

Moa's "you're asking me?" at 0:23 sounds so much like British English to me! Fascinating since those who learn English usually seem to pick up an American accent. They really have become so good at English over the years, I wish I could say the same for myself with a foreign language 😅
I really hope one day they are contractually able to tell us what it takes to put on a tour or even just one show. The work ups and behind the scene stuff must be incredible. I wonder what a day is like for them on tour. It always seems like they have them going 100% thru every hour that they are awake. It's got to be incredibly hard and rewarding at the same time. You can see in this interview how they've turned into true professionals.

Moa got really good in English. I hope Su would improve even more cause she has some kind of difficulty to express what she want to say and to choose the correct words.
That looks more like just her taking her time to get it right than actually having difficulty.
It's a new language. And Su looks quite cute trying to think up the right words. And many of us are not even able to express in our mother tongue 😂

There's an interesting difference in their answers. "Trust your instincts" -- that's advice to a leader's younger self. Su may have had misgivings about getting into the whole metal thing at first, and maybe there were people around her who said it wasn't right for her, but she made the decision to pursue it.
"Make sure to warm up" -- Moa and Yui were so small then, they'd just happily go along. No hesitation or second thoughts.

su and moa are passionate and true love to there performances and audience. there band members are magical. baby metal brought Japanese neon to rest of the world and they did a good job. i love catch me if you can. my first song was gimme chocolate 🍫. su has her unique powerful vocals. moa also i listened singing and she is amazing too. both can dance and sing good. there signature dress is fresh. su beauty, i like. good question for them and they did good and answered there thoughts honestly. monochome song with all the lights from fans was beautiful.

They are sooo goood at everything!! Learning another language is hard but speaking it in conversation is harder. Much easier to read or learn grammar. The hard part is communicating and they do it so well in song, dance, and speaking. Plus so adorable!
To any foreigners worried about messing up your English, let this video and its comments be an example of how much native speakers commend the effort of trying your hardest whether you're perfect or not.

Wow, Moa's pronunciations floored me with how far she's come. As her vocabulary expands, she'll do very well in interviews on future tours. As for Su, she can converse rather well now, but I think she still struggles to convey more complex concepts in English, as that fabulous mind of hers generates thoughts that she can't quite translate...yet. When they come back to the west again I bet they will both be pretty much fluent in English.

This was a great interview. Especially with Moametal's, "You asking me??" AND hearing Su-Metal crack up at the start. LOL! Totally gave off a comfortable vibe. Their English has greatly improved. Other recent interviews during the 2019-US Tour seemed like the interviewer was intimidated/nervous? Maybe those interviews were done at the wrong time? Like right After the performance, and the ladies needed to split to get to the next city ASAP? ...I don't know... Nicely done Mr. Graham.
