Love the narration. Tasteless and Artosis have done a good job so far in these tournaments. In my opinion they bring excitement on the right moments during battles. The series were played on the highest level possible. Never seen such playing skills, these young players deserve all this glamour showed in this tournament. Keep up the good work.

TY has won $300,000 since December... I mean, just wow. The dude has been one of the very best for a LOOONG time but just just never quite won a tournament. Glad to see his patience and dedication is paying off. The way he's performing it wouldn't surprise me if he won a GSL, SSL, dreamhack, and/or blizzcon. He could end up earning more money in a single calendar season than any player has over their entire careers... I believe everyone is still chasing MC, Life, and Polt. None of them has earned $500,000 in their careers and TY could do it in 11 months. Insane.

Why is Tasteless roaring like a madman in every cast lately? People adore this duo for their intelligence and the depth of their casting mixed with game knowledge, not for fake enthusiasm
To be fair, Artosis is actually his 'normal' self and only puts on the fake enthusiasm when he feels baited by Tasteless. Also, their normal work in Korea they get to do what they love without quite the audiences and pressure of these international tournaments.
I also found Tasteless to be annoying throughout IEM Katowice. But he's awesome in GSL so I cut him some slack because they are the best casters around these days. I do like some of the others- Rotti and the PiG/Maynarde combo can be good at times and RapiD as well as Valdes are just unbearable and I'm not a fan so I'll always take these two even if they are 'putting it on' at times.
The difference is the huge English speaking live audience. It's a different dynamic compared to casting for an online audience when they do GSL. Yeah, they're not quite as good at it and go a little over the top, but cut them some slack. You're judging them sitting at your computer, not in the audience immersed in the hype. It's not the same.
He's just trying to make it exciting and do his job well. Commentating at that level isn't about consistency of tone (or fake enthusiasm as you put it), it's about the hype, the intelligence, and the depth that they possess and broadcast to the audience; which is actually very similar to what you said above. I can understand why it's rather annoying, but he's just trying to do his job well. You know what I mean?...i'm agreeing with you, but not in a conventional way.
I watched this live and their hype and passion is great. What on earth is "fake enthusiasm" suppose to mean??? Please don't tell me you are seriously suggesting that they're not genuinely passionate about casting SC2, cause that is just not true. "Fake" is a really inappropriate word here.
Perhaps not the greatest word, but they are not entirely genuine there. Of course they are passionate about the game... it takes a certain type of individual to move to Korea and make casting starcraft his/her livelihood. But a lot of the screaming and the 'batman' voice was definitely not real. I watch every gsl cast... they are never like this, even with the greatest matchups in the world in front of them. It's a "fake voice effect" attributed to "exaggerated enthusiasm." Perhaps that's more appropriate for you... and it's just my opinion. No need to get all riled up about it. You loved the batman voice. Cheers to you.
Edit: I realize the original poster also used the term "fake enthusiasm" and I was actually responding to that; therefore, you were likely referring to his statement, not mine. My mistake.

I remember I watched Tasteless and Artosis cast back in 2011, then I wanted to play this game. It was the same so-called "fake enthusiasm" that brought me to this game. I am not big, just another gold-silver league player, so I guess it's not enough to make the SC2 esports grow. But they will always be my favorite casters.

Count me in. People here are just not familiar with the Korean style of casting, which is where tasteless usually commentates. He isn't fake, people here just aren't used to it.
I don't get being upset about it. Is he supposed to be all business? Calmly saying how many probes were killed, calmly talking about position or big attacks that are coming? If he were like that, the same people would be upset that he isn't excited and doesn't care. Who cares what they think.
Tasteless is awesome, but Tastosis is better. :P

You all sitting in your basements maybe don't realize this is a huge live tournament with thousands of people in the audience? It's inherently different than GSL. The hype is obligatory.
My theory is that Tasteless was sick or lost his voice and used a combination of coke/meth and Ricola as a remedy, the former having the most effect.

i think it is pretty much proved how OP adepts and reapers can be from these guys. feels like Z is lacking a unit with this kind of power and cost efficiency and safety in a T1 unit :/
just seems like P and T have gotten SO many cool tools for both super early and late game. while Z doesn't really seem to get much to make up for this heavy spike power that we see T and P have. they seem to do ok against it on top lvl, but just kind of feel like Z need to Outplay the opponent for a good 15-20 min of fighting to actually land a win, while 1 mistake and they auto lose :/

Love Tastosis, but their over the top live casting sucks. Still better than Apollo's smugness or Khaelaris girly shrieks, those two have legit made me mute several tournaments, and simply not watch others altogether, they are that annoying. Bitterdam will always be the best casting archon to me.

That was the worst commentary I've heard. They missed so much of what was actually going on in the game while they tell us their stupid theories. It was a fantastic final and they ruined it.
