Again sorry if the camera angles aren't the best at times! Also... there may be a part 3. She threw another (unexpected) tantrum on her first proper ride out. Stay tuned 🙃 But as for good news... Must be a good feeling to get the bike back together at last and know that everything is dialled and pristine (minus the warning light immediately after but we'll gloss over that lol) 😆 Just a note for anyone watching though who is maybe new to biking: be very careful cleaning the chain like that, with the engine running. James works on bikes all day every day and knows what he's doing far better than you or I, and in this case he was using a tool so it's not so bad, but it's a really great way to lose fingers. People let the engine run so the chain turns, try to hold a cloth over the chain to wipe it off, cloth gets caught by the sprocket and boom, pulls your hand in too, round between the chain and sprocket, and all the way around before you can reach the clutch to back it off. Like three people just from those I follow have lost bits of fingers doing it over the years. Turning the wheel by hand takes longer, but it's genuinely not worth the risk taking a shortcut.
I’m no mechanic, but impressed with this chap. It’s a shame we didn’t see you ride off into the sunset. Dying to know how the first ride goes after the service… actually enjoy these type of posting, not just your channel, but motorcycle channels in general.. 😊😊
Bike should feel so much better having all those issues sorted out..... I so need a spin on me own fireblade but roads r either covered in snow or ice....all the best from Tommy In Ireland
Cool vid! I learned a lot from it! I also noticed the er6f in the back ground.. fond of it as I have the er6n. possible vid on that maybe? Finding TH-cam vids on those bikes are scarce.
Not sure if you have a rad guard in there, couldn't see one. But a worthwhile investment as stones get washed into the roads during this crappy weather
You should consider a Scottoiler if you ride all year round. Basically most of your chain maintenance issues cease to exist instantly. I deep clean my chain once a year (at the end or beginning of the season) then let the Scottoiler do the rest. If I can be 12000 miles in with just the odd chain adjustment on a bike with 120bhp, then your chain could potentially last until the end of time!
I have very short legs so I bought built up special boots. Made a massive difference I can now flat foot over the bike. I was lucky enough to buy them in brand new condition off ebay at a used price. Apparently Putin where’s them cos he’s so short 😂!!!
Bear in mind that modern sophisticated bikes (no offence meant), that have the capability to know that the front and rear wheel are turning, and can detect the relative difference in speed when running on the stand, may bring in an engine light that you will need to be able to interrogate the ECU to clear. It can also prevent the bike mode changes and cruise etc.. Ask me how I know!
Sorry but I felt I had to feedback on this video. I refrained on part one as was giving the guy the benefit of the Doubt and he may have been nervous with a camera on him. NEVER clean your chain with the bike running and in gear. You might get away with it but one day it will catch you and drag in your hand. It’s a shame he didn’t show you how to adjust the chain using the marks on the swing arm, as that’s what most people use and it’s perfectly accurate. Your Cush drive is fine. It does not need replaced. Save your money. In the first part the wheel bearings were replaced. Given the state they were in the seals should have been replaced also. The rear wheel should have e been removed and checked as well. There are a few occasions accross both parts when you ask a question and the answer you get is incorrect. The ECU controls the mixture of fuel/air using sensors on the bike, but not in the way he said. The spark plugs on a modern fuel injected engine will give very little information unless your burning oil. This is an old technique used with a carburetor. If you had the service manual and referred to it in the videos this would bring some credibility to what is happening rather than using the phrase “aged out” for everything that is changed. Oil does not deteriorate with age. You highly recommend this guy. Given what I have seen I would not. And would question exactly what quality of work would happen if a camera was not pointed at him.
You're entitled to your opinion. I don't have enough knowledge to counter or agree to most of the things you've said, but I can say that my bike runs much smoother now. I will say though, you've seen around 30 mins of footage out of a day and a half's work, and it's been edited by me - where sometimes I didn't have the camera on for something others would deem important, or I've edited something out to help with the flow of the video - because this isnt a complete service tutorial. So if something hasn't happened in video, it doesn't mean it didn't happen at all. I just don't have the knowledge to know everything that I should have included to make that kind of tutorial, and preferred to make more of a summary / update video.
@ and that’s fine that you don’t have the knowledge and are learning. And you took your bike to someone instead of trying to mess about with it yourself. And I understood it is not a tutorial. My criticism is not directed at you or how you edited or presented the video. But…you did video the process and post it. There are plenty of people who do know what they are doing. Others who view this content many blindly follow your high recommendation, they may try procedures shown by your mechanic. Hence why i chipped in. I’m sure your bike does run and ride better. But, for example, when the front bearings fail again will you look back or just assume that’s how long they last? The guy talked some utter nonsense but he did the job and you left. His work was not all bad that I saw, but it’s out there now for all to use as a tutorial or not 🤷 Thanks for your videos and taking some time to reply
@ get a Haynes manual. Even if you don’t wish to do the mechanical stuff yourself. When you need a job doing have a read of that section, then you will have some idea if the work carried out is needed and correct. Learn a wee bit it will give you so much confidence
NEVER EVER CLEAN YOUR CHAIN WITH THE BIKE RUNNING AND IN GEAR, THIS IS TRULEY IDIOTIC BY THIS MECHANIC! he got a warning with the white rag being pulled in. AGAIN DO NOT CLEAN YOU CHAIN IN THIS WAY, ITS JUST LAZYNESS and lazyness will cause you harm!

Got one on its way, courtesy of R&G 😁

Wow I hadn't seen those before!
@ game changing, trust me 😃
Looking forward to a first ride impressions video, although have just read your comment - what’s happened?
Radiator damage 😩 something we couldn't predict but I'll explain properly in the next video
Poor Noxie always getting hurt 😔
😫
