    With regards to being a bit more than other quotes, don't lower your prices to suit someone else's budget or another sparkies quote, Know your worth. (I am well known for adding another 10% now if anyone asks "is that the best you can do". We call it a "tw@t tax")

    A pdf on pricing would be brilliant, i always question my pricing and would hate to think i was too cheap. I've been playing with a format for rewires.
    £70 pp breeze block
    £80 chopped in
    £90 patched up
    £100 carpeted and furnished
    £500 PP If occupied 😅

    £85-95 per ways for Fusebox SPD RCBOs CU replacement including EICR exclude any major rectification work and any additional job which quote separately all exclude VAT, just charge £200 for EICR if customer don't agree additional cost if any C2 or FI codes found. getting agreement in advance of carrying out EICR. if no fault found, just the fix price per way

    Just done a board relocation with an eicr prior for just under £800 .. not a full eicr , more an R1R2 and then an IR tbh and even then I thought I could’ve priced it higher .. pdf pricing would be a nice insight too ..

    Your prices seem very fair Nick and comparable to our electrician in Chester. He did a board change upgrade to rcbos, and a kitchen rewire in 2021 for about 2k if memory serves with all the certificates etc. 8 sockets, two double pole isolaters, cooker point and two 2 way lighting circuits. 4 days work in total. 6 downlights and two led undercupboard striplights. All went well, was happy with price, materials quality and love the light on the cu cover

    I work for one of the big 6 "cover" Contract company's getting 6 7 8 jobs a day, we quote and do upgrade work also but I really hate the time constraints we are put under for fuse board changes etc. Love your videos and more so the time you get to do a quality job 👏 ..

    Very interesting how everyone has there own way of pricing. I think with the cost of rcbo’s and boards atm £650 is the minimum now for say 8 circuits

    • @Marco-mg9tv
      @Marco-mg9tv ปีที่แล้ว

      Cost of 8 RCBOs and board less than £200. 450 labour is nice and I agree what should be charged but unfortunately wouldn’t be competitive in coventry would be nearer 500. And that’s not for a vat reg spark

  • @carforumwanker

    EICR before will mean you have a leg to stand on when issue occur later .. Like
    swapping out a RCD twin for a RCBO. with old wiring and stolen earths and neutrals will end up been a farce when it all starts tripping

    The roller door was too tall after the plasterboard was fitted. The simple thing would have been to cut a bit off the bottom of the door runner legs, rather than chop back the plasterboard.

  • @sunshine3187
    @sunshine3187 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Hey nick, as an apprentice i have a question for you. If you change the DB, dont you then become responsible for the entire installation? If so wouldnt you want to carry out a condition report so nothing bites you in the arse? I assume you do a quick walk about and do visuals as a minimum first?

    • @Nick_Carlos
      @Nick_Carlos ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would say as long as the defects are listed on the installation certificate and customer is fully aware of the issues then you can change the consumer unit.

    • @Marco-mg9tv
      @Marco-mg9tv ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Why would you/should you become liable for the whole installation when you have only changed and improved one component ? Does a mechanic become liable for the brakes on a car if he changes the gearbox ? Your EIC is a certificate to cover YOUR installation- ie the CU. Your testing will need to cover each circuit however any remedial work is not your liability to correct or become liable for. That’s why the certification has ample opportunity to record notes and defects. As a minimum before starting any work you must verify/correct any earthing /bonding deficiencies (to be pay for by the customer)
