as a casual player, this just isnt enough to get me back to the game. the content for me is basically new daily quests, or world quests. it seems like all world of warcraft is about, is getting the best gear and doing raids, or mythics. i dont have time for raids, and dont like timed M+, so there is absolutely no reason for me to grind for gear with a few item levels more.. i was very hopeful for torghast, since it looked like its gonna be fun gameplay, for the sake of fun gameplay... but they also had to turn that into a chore for raiders... would have wished for more, but this just isnt enough to bring me back to the game. i'll watch the lore on youtube and skip the rest of the expansion.
As someone that really love these long grinds that usually comes in mmo i don't understand when players complain when it is grindy and takes a lot of time, aint that usually what mmo is?

Nowadays that's impossible without having to engage in all those overly complex system blizz seems so eager to send our way.... Tbc was casual friendly... shadowlands isn't
Casual player here too. I don't like pvp and have not had the time to try m+. I do LFR on my two mains and level professions on alts. Got 8 toons up to 60 and maxed all professions. My goal is to equip my mains with free legendries. After that I am going to take a couple months break.
They spend so much of their time inventing complex systems designed to keep you running on that digital treadmill that they forget to actually make the game fun.

Not really... Do the highest dungeons you can every week for drops, valor, and vault. Find a raiding team and clear as much of the raid as you possibly can. Do Thorgast once a week on both wings and run around the new zone killing everything in sight and opening chests. Done.
Chains of Domination not just an expansion patch, but also Blizzard's design philosophy.....They Chain you to their game to Dominate you into upping that play time so it looks good on their quarterly investor calls
Maybe a way you could look at it is it gives the game longevity. If you love playing you don’t want to get bored with it. It gives you something to do every week and something to look forward to. It also makes the rewards much more rewarding and satisfying. You’re more proud of your accomplishments
They were farming to clear current content. Once that content is old, who cares how much they farmed because it's new content and new farm. That's literally how everything has and should work. You want last tier gear to be the best for the next tiers? Get out of here. Lol

After 7 months of no new content Blizzard has turned around and literally slapped us in the face by making us remake legendaries. They basically said that long 7 months of no content was wasted cause now we have to do it again. Screw this company man. I'm tired of making excuses for them. They are just bad devs designing bad systems for a game that at this point is also bad.
It is just bad communication on Blizzards part. If you watch some other videos talking about the recrafting, its not as big of a deal as you think (I also thought this and was really upset.) Basically you will get so much soul ash doing TG going forward (which you have to do to get soul cinders anyway) that recrafting wont matter unless you're low on gold. I tried to find the video that explains this really well but forgot which video it was lol.

Absolutely ridiculous. Upgrade here this and that with currency x, but not to much upgrade, you have to wait a few more weeks for this because currency x - y + z = 64

Can’t wait for wow to lose all it’s players so that Activision sells it to the nerds that created it. Which in turn will not only make the game legendary again, but also transfer it from a public company to a private company. This would be the ultimate win for us.

As a casual pvper..... I think the ranking gear is a huge turn off. Players that I could never beat in my wildest dreams will still also have a huge gear advantage. I know I'm not alone as far as being locked behind rating (in part because of glads dropping rating to sell carries.) In past seasons I was typically able to manage 1800-2k with friends. This last season we could hardly pass 1400 with double the effort and a 50ish% win rate. Im not saying there shouldn't be perks to being better at the game but maybe we could dial it back to just shoulders and weaps or something cosmetic like it used to be😅

Instead of layering systems with time gates, why not make actual, enjoyable content? Is that so hard to ask for? We pay for the expansion and subtime but they have the audacity to sell us transmogs as well. Using sub money for dev time to milk us further. Remember the toy crowdfunding fiasco? The game is just not the same anymore and does not respect our time.
That's true for everything except the raid content. If you like raiding then you're gonna do it while it's current, otherwise it's useless. I'm definitely not starting for 1-2 months at least because all the other time-gated garbage begs you to not play the game until an arbitrary point in the future but before the next patch.
During covid i started playing WoW again and thought it would be a great idea to play with my 10 year old daughter. We both had a lot of fun exploring the shadowlands. Now its become to boring and finding out about this patch made it even more boring. I feel this game is going towards level items instead of great content. WoW is no longer carrying on that passion towards my 10 year old. I had to cancel both subs. I hope blizzards find answers.
No story no interest is my motto. The game of an RPG is only there to tell a good story. But they have to keep it up. WoW is only a MMO not an RPG if you're not playing for for the story. The story of the Azeroth has become so slow and wide it cannot be followed unless you watch videos or read books outside the game. The game is ok but not in the long-term. The best part of WoW is the story and you can get it better outside the game.
you got Divinity 2 the original sin which is a great game where you get to explore the map and the lore, I had great fun with my friend and there's also that co-op game on steam "It takes two" I hope you guys get to play more games together :D !

Instead I can save money and time, not pay blizzard the money they don't deserve but can still keep up on the lore that I still enjoy while playing games that are actually fun still.

For everyone complaining about how they are not gonna play - I have been playing and actually enjoy everything. As always it's a bit grindy and overwhelming but it's actually pretty fun. Sucks that everyone is on this cancel culture lately of everything but yeah give it a chance.

12:55 Yeah, that was one of those really, really frustrating, bad moves by Blizzard. This will make quite a chunk of the active player base feel mighty frustrated about the time they put into their legendaries. And the [worst] part about this, which will probably quite magnify the level of frustration for some, is looking at other players who were simply "lucky" enough to pick an armor piece that doesn't clash with 9.1's domination socketed pieces. Blizzard really, really needs to hotfix a way to get at least about 75% of the legendary investments that players made. This may or may not include the crafted piece of armor itself, but it most definitely needs to include the farmed Soul Ash. And it is these kinds of extremely bad, frustrating, stupid decisions that mount up and push away a percentage of the active player base from the game. I don't even understand why Blizzard seems to intentionally disrespect its player base's time and investment of time in the game. I mean, yeah, WoW is technically a time sink for people to waste their time, but they should at least have fun while wasting that time and not feel like a big chunk of it literally just went down the drain.
There is too much drama about the recrafting. It doesnt take long. Your Torghast runs give you soul ash and soul cinders and you can keep running them until you have enough. You can recraft your legendary rank 4 in ONE week.

Correct me if I'm wrong but there's no reason to recraft any of your leggos unless you don't plan on upgrading them to the new ranks. The raid won't be out for a month so at minimum you have weeks to farm soul cinders. You have to rebuy a base item for rank 5 and 6 anyways. The only reason to recraft them is if you plan on using that same rank 4 leggo month(s) into 9.1 while also raiding. Am I missing something?

Super TLDR for gearing alts: Do all MOs for 210 pieces, finish with Tazavesh for maximum efficiency, if you have the spare time do low Mythic+, but never EVER use catalog research or Stygia on gearing, it is not worth
I have been playing Monster Hunter Rise for the past month and it covers all the things I like about WoW without worrying a out wasting my sub time or not being optimized with my gear. You have incredibly good mobility abilities, you have cooking, you have mining, herb gathering, skinning, twelve different weapon styles which feel like specific classes, theme park zones, very charismatic monsters with telegraphed mechanics you have to deal with as if it were a boss encounter, a simple non-convoluted story... All the things that you do when soloing in WoW are here. You can buy Monster Hunter World if you prefer, but I like how straight forward Rise feels in comparison (also the portability it offers). If you don't want another MMORPG to substitute your WoW needs, I think Monster Hunter will do the trick.
What would you consider exciting content? A new raid? 9.1 has it. A new mega dungeon? 9.1 has it. New legendary raid item? 9.1 has it. What else do you want?
If every expansion is only good in the .3 state, I may as well move onto a different game. It's like going to a restaurant over and over when the food is crap, but the dessert sure is yummy!
I jumped ship and gave FF a fighting chance. Made it to level 29 today. No regrets. I hope Blizzard figures out something better than what they’re doing now.
Actually thought about coming back for 9.1, but damn I somehow forgot how much weekly crap there is before doing what you actually want to do. Domination sockets being relevant for M+ is tragic, came back after 10 years and loved that I could do just m+ since I find raiding boring :/
As a new player I kind of avoid Raids. I don't understand, if I want to play tons of hours a game I can only do it once per week, and even to engage with that content you have to spend so much time studying each encounter... I want so badly to make Raids but it is not satisfying at all for me. Anyways, I am really having a blast doing Mythic +, PvP and exploring the world. Sadly it seems I didn't come at the best state of the game but I really like it... The unique thing that was weird was the legendary system. I don't even know how to craft it, lucky for me I got two rank4 I crafted for less than 15k.
So my pvp char has 209 ilvl. I have 2 choices, farm a shitload of honor to buy ilvl 177 gear and upgrade it... or wait for conquest gear. WoW. Truly well done Blizzard. I thought your gearing couldn't get any worse. Or maybe it doesn't. Who tf knows because everything is so complicated.
I sometimes think back to classic, burning crusade, lich king, Cataclysm, even pandaria, I wonder what made those expansions and games experiences so Fun and engaging without all these secondary systems.
I really don´t get the negativity regarding recrafting legendaries from most content creators.... By the time you have enough soul cinders to craft your r5/6 Lego, you will also have easily enough Soul Ash to cover levels 1-4. And you have to buy /craft the new base item, anyway. So, your actual cost for an R5-6 lego is exactly the same either way.... The only real waste was if you decided to "pre prepare" by already recrafting your rank 4 before the patch dropped. And even then, the only actual waste was gold /crafting mats..... And arguably the 2 missives, but those are more or less negligible in price....
LMAO at those clowns that come up with that kind of rocket sience for something so simple as gearing you kill something you use whatever is in it, no need for 500 different difficulties in raids and dungeons, upgradeable gear, something forged clowngear (atleast they got rid of that one in that horrid addon), mcguffin slotted gear, recraft legendaries because of said mcguffin slotted gear in the most boring soul draining content next to dailies and worldquests. What a bunch of jokers and the most hilarious part is the gear will be completly irrelevant coming next patch, if there will be even a next patch in that expansion, maybe they pull another wod, but if my guess is they introduce artifact power again because that system was soooo fun.
So redoing your legendary is not as bad as you made it sound. You would have to buy the new piece at the higher rank anyways, then you have to farm soul cinders to even craft /upgrade it, at the same time your grinding the cinders you get a ton of soul ash. The only thing your really out of the end is missive costs and a bag slot.
It's not about the cost of materials or gold, it's the time investment loss. I crafted 6 legendaries, each taking about 3-4 hours. Quick maths, that's too much time in torghast. Is torghast the main form of shadowlands content? Punished for making alts I guess.

@@Squeebop How are you not getting rewarded? If you do a Vault full of dungeons a week that is 10 dungeons. You get on average 2 pieces of gear according to your average, you also receive 1350 valor to upgrade those items, or any previous items you received, then on reset you also get a chance at one more piece of gear. Do you really expect an MMO to let you deck yourself out in the newest gear within a few weeks? What would you like? Get gear every 2 dungeons and have new items for half your slots every week just for doing 10 dungeons? Then suddenly the argument is that gear is too easy to obtain and meaningless because anyone can get it with ease. You are already being rewarded with gear mutch better in ilvl then the content you actually finished (under a +17 or so) so I don't see what the complaint is about. I'm a filthy casual and even I'm okay with 2/5 people in the dungeon being guaranteed loot and the rest at least receiving currency to upgrade their current gear with (which you will get even more valor in 9.1 based on how much the other 4 players scores improved from that run so upgrading will be even easier). A raider needs to progress trough all of normal, then all of heroic then all of mythic just so they can upgrade their gear, and even then each week they have 1 shot at getting an upgrade and have to compete with 10-30 other people in the raid to get some of that loot. So dungeons are still by far a much easier gearing route. I raid 8 hours a week just to get 1 if I'm lucky (which I rarely am) 2 pieces of gear a week because my vault is useless given the fact that 1 +15 a week gets me a guaranteed 223 piece of gear from the dungeon side of the vault. In 8 hours you could do about 15 dungeons maybe even more, which by your estimate will give you 3 pieces of gear plus a full vault of options (which could all be above heroic level because honestly, a 7 ain't that hard to do so you could have 70% of them be 7s and only do a few 14/15 to get that 220/223 option if you don't want to be running 15s all week. The people I feel sorry for are the people doing 20s and above because they get absolutely nothing for their efforts other than a good rio score that not a lot of people care about.
So the whole getting loot is so complicated now, that we really need a guide for getting gear? I know that with all this new systems for supposedly making things easier what happened with that?
I mustve spent 400,000 gold across 4 chars for my legendaries in 9.0... I had 800,000 gold at the expac launch and thats the most Ive ever had in the game. Theres no way im remaking my legendaries. They either add a way to socket other pieces or I'll just stop playing... Seems a shame after 16+ years that this expac is killing my love of the game.
so you're planning to run in ilvl 235 legendaries then? Or you're just not very bright and don't understand that upgrading your current legendary costs the same amount of gold as crafting brand new one of higher lvl already?

I'm a new player and I like the systems. Because you have many options for gearing, and once you get upgrade it feels very rewarding

@Martin J ehh i dont think Tali is bias tbh. Sure hes more positive about the game than all of the rest of the other wow youtubers but he calls them out on there shit and just asks them to do better. I think its good that theres people like him just like its good to have someone like asmongold who calls them out in a rougher way

After 7 months of no new content Blizzard has turned around and literally slapped us in the face by making us remake legendaries.
They basically said that long 7 months of no content was wasted cause now we have to do it again.

It is just bad communication on Blizzards part. If you watch some other videos talking about the recrafting, its not as big of a deal as you think (I also thought this and was really upset.) Basically you will get so much soul ash doing TG going forward (which you have to do to get soul cinders anyway) that recrafting wont matter unless you're low on gold. I tried to find the video that explains this really well but forgot which video it was lol.

You have to remember, Blizz doesn't design the game for the players. They design the game for themselves and their quarterly earnings.

Absolutely ridiculous. Upgrade here this and that with currency x, but not to much upgrade, you have to wait a few more weeks for this because currency x - y + z = 64

Can’t wait for wow to lose all it’s players so that Activision sells it to the nerds that created it. Which in turn will not only make the game legendary again, but also transfer it from a public company to a private company. This would be the ultimate win for us.

As a casual pvper..... I think the ranking gear is a huge turn off. Players that I could never beat in my wildest dreams will still also have a huge gear advantage. I know I'm not alone as far as being locked behind rating (in part because of glads dropping rating to sell carries.) In past seasons I was typically able to manage 1800-2k with friends. This last season we could hardly pass 1400 with double the effort and a 50ish% win rate. Im not saying there shouldn't be perks to being better at the game but maybe we could dial it back to just shoulders and weaps or something cosmetic like it used to be😅

@@billymays9296 Reason being is Blizz intentionally designs systems that wastes player time. They are either incompetent or doing this on purpose. Instead of layering systems with time gates, why not make actual, enjoyable content? Is that so hard to ask for? We pay for the expansion and subtime but they have the audacity to sell us transmogs as well. Using sub money for dev time to milk us further. Remember the toy crowdfunding fiasco? The game is just not the same anymore and does not respect our time.

That's true for everything except the raid content. If you like raiding then you're gonna do it while it's current, otherwise it's useless. I'm definitely not starting for 1-2 months at least because all the other time-gated garbage begs you to not play the game until an arbitrary point in the future but before the next patch.
During covid i started playing WoW again and thought it would be a great idea to play with my 10 year old daughter. We both had a lot of fun exploring the shadowlands. Now its become to boring and finding out about this patch made it even more boring. I feel this game is going towards level items instead of great content. WoW is no longer carrying on that passion towards my 10 year old. I had to cancel both subs. I hope blizzards find answers.

No story no interest is my motto.
The game of an RPG is only there to tell a good story. But they have to keep it up. WoW is only a MMO not an RPG if you're not playing for for the story. The story of the Azeroth has become so slow and wide it cannot be followed unless you watch videos or read books outside the game. The game is ok but not in the long-term. The best part of WoW is the story and you can get it better outside the game.

Thankyou Bellular if you didn't release these videos I would consider re subbing to check out new content for the lore. Instead I can save money and time, not pay blizzard the money they don't deserve but can still keep up on the lore that I still enjoy while playing games that are actually fun still.

@Martin J The thing about unrated bg's is that you are supposed to get stomped by high rating honor farmers, do some random rbgs/arenas it should be easy to hit at least 1.6cr, why would you do pve for unrated pvp?
For everyone complaining about how they are not gonna play - I have been playing and actually enjoy everything. As always it's a bit grindy and overwhelming but it's actually pretty fun. Sucks that everyone is on this cancel culture lately of everything but yeah give it a chance.

Finally, a video old style where you just expose information in a concise way. The new videos with the other dude are horrible, you really need to ditch him.
12:55 Yeah, that was one of those really, really frustrating, bad moves by Blizzard. This will make quite a chunk of the active player base feel mighty frustrated about the time they put into their legendaries. And the [worst] part about this, which will probably quite magnify the level of frustration for some, is looking at other players who were simply "lucky" enough to pick an armor piece that doesn't clash with 9.1's domination socketed pieces. Blizzard really, really needs to hotfix a way to get at least about 75% of the legendary investments that players made. This may or may not include the crafted piece of armor itself, but it most definitely needs to include the farmed Soul Ash. And it is these kinds of extremely bad, frustrating, stupid decisions that mount up and push away a percentage of the active player base from the game. I don't even understand why Blizzard seems to intentionally disrespect its player base's time and investment of time in the game. I mean, yeah, WoW is technically a time sink for people to waste their time, but they should at least have fun while wasting that time and not feel like a big chunk of it literally just went down the drain.
There is too much drama about the recrafting. It doesnt take long. Your Torghast runs give you soul ash and soul cinders and you can keep running them until you have enough. You can recraft your legendary rank 4 in ONE week.

In other words, you spent 20 hours divided by 5 or 8 weeks farming that crap, and now you'll spend 15 hours in one week farming the same crap, and that's okay because you're spending that time in one week rather than 5 or 8? Are you, people, on Blizzard's payroll or something?

Correct me if I'm wrong but there's no reason to recraft any of your leggos unless you don't plan on upgrading them to the new ranks. The raid won't be out for a month so at minimum you have weeks to farm soul cinders. You have to rebuy a base item for rank 5 and 6 anyways. The only reason to recraft them is if you plan on using that same rank 4 leggo month(s) into 9.1 while also raiding. Am I missing something?
The raid (normal/heroic) opens on week 2, July 6th.
@@kubi0461 You're right, had my dates mixed up lol. The point still stands though, unless you're raiding but not upgrading your leggo, there's no reason to recraft a leggo aside from crafting it to rank 5-6.

Super TLDR for gearing alts: Do all MOs for 210 pieces, finish with Tazavesh for maximum efficiency, if you have the spare time do low Mythic+, but never EVER use catalog research or Stygia on gearing, it is not worth
I have been playing Monster Hunter Rise for the past month and it covers all the things I like about WoW without worrying a out wasting my sub time or not being optimized with my gear.
You have incredibly good mobility abilities, you have cooking, you have mining, herb gathering, skinning, twelve different weapon styles which feel like specific classes, theme park zones, very charismatic monsters with telegraphed mechanics you have to deal with as if it were a boss encounter, a simple non-convoluted story... All the things that you do when soloing in WoW are here. You can buy Monster Hunter World if you prefer, but I like how straight forward Rise feels in comparison (also the portability it offers).
If you don't want another MMORPG to substitute your WoW needs, I think Monster Hunter will do the trick.
Dungeons are a nice way to get starting gear if you are having trouble

Domination sockets being relevant for M+ is tragic, came back after 10 years and loved that I could do just m+ since I find raiding boring :/
As a new player I kind of avoid Raids. I don't understand, if I want to play tons of hours a game I can only do it once per week, and even to engage with that content you have to spend so much time studying each encounter...
I want so badly to make Raids but it is not satisfying at all for me.
Anyways, I am really having a blast doing Mythic +, PvP and exploring the world.
Sadly it seems I didn't come at the best state of the game but I really like it...
The unique thing that was weird was the legendary system. I don't even know how to craft it, lucky for me I got two rank4 I crafted for less than 15k.

So my pvp char has 209 ilvl. I have 2 choices, farm a shitload of honor to buy ilvl 177 gear and upgrade it... or wait for conquest gear. WoW. Truly well done Blizzard. I thought your gearing couldn't get any worse. Or maybe it doesn't. Who tf knows because everything is so complicated.
I sometimes think back to classic, burning crusade, lich king, Cataclysm, even pandaria, I wonder what made those expansions and games experiences so Fun and engaging without all these secondary systems.

I really don´t get the negativity regarding recrafting legendaries from most content creators....
By the time you have enough soul cinders to craft your r5/6 Lego, you will also have easily enough Soul Ash to cover levels 1-4. And you have to buy /craft the new base item, anyway. So, your actual cost for an R5-6 lego is exactly the same either way....
The only real waste was if you decided to "pre prepare" by already recrafting your rank 4 before the patch dropped. And even then, the only actual waste was gold /crafting mats..... And arguably the 2 missives, but those are more or less negligible in price....

LMAO at those clowns that come up with that kind of rocket sience for something so simple as gearing you kill something you use whatever is in it, no need for 500 different difficulties in raids and dungeons, upgradeable gear, something forged clowngear (atleast they got rid of that one in that horrid addon), mcguffin slotted gear, recraft legendaries because of said mcguffin slotted gear in the most boring soul draining content next to dailies and worldquests.
What a bunch of jokers and the most hilarious part is the gear will be completly irrelevant coming next patch, if there will be even a next patch in that expansion, maybe they pull another wod, but if my guess is they introduce artifact power again because that system was soooo fun.

So redoing your legendary is not as bad as you made it sound. You would have to buy the new piece at the higher rank anyways, then you have to farm soul cinders to even craft /upgrade it, at the same time your grinding the cinders you get a ton of soul ash. The only thing your really out of the end is missive costs and a bag slot.
It's not about the cost of materials or gold, it's the time investment loss. I crafted 6 legendaries, each taking about 3-4 hours. Quick maths, that's too much time in torghast. Is torghast the main form of shadowlands content? Punished for making alts I guess.
So is Mythic + loot still only dropping at a 20% chance? If so, no reason to come back.
It's never been 20%... If you beat the timer you get 3 item drops at the end chest for 5 people. Do the math

@@Squeebop How are you not getting rewarded? If you do a Vault full of dungeons a week that is 10 dungeons. You get on average 2 pieces of gear according to your average, you also receive 1350 valor to upgrade those items, or any previous items you received, then on reset you also get a chance at one more piece of gear. Do you really expect an MMO to let you deck yourself out in the newest gear within a few weeks? What would you like? Get gear every 2 dungeons and have new items for half your slots every week just for doing 10 dungeons? Then suddenly the argument is that gear is too easy to obtain and meaningless because anyone can get it with ease. You are already being rewarded with gear mutch better in ilvl then the content you actually finished (under a +17 or so) so I don't see what the complaint is about. I'm a filthy casual and even I'm okay with 2/5 people in the dungeon being guaranteed loot and the rest at least receiving currency to upgrade their current gear with (which you will get even more valor in 9.1 based on how much the other 4 players scores improved from that run so upgrading will be even easier). A raider needs to progress trough all of normal, then all of heroic then all of mythic just so they can upgrade their gear, and even then each week they have 1 shot at getting an upgrade and have to compete with 10-30 other people in the raid to get some of that loot. So dungeons are still by far a much easier gearing route. I raid 8 hours a week just to get 1 if I'm lucky (which I rarely am) 2 pieces of gear a week because my vault is useless given the fact that 1 +15 a week gets me a guaranteed 223 piece of gear from the dungeon side of the vault. In 8 hours you could do about 15 dungeons maybe even more, which by your estimate will give you 3 pieces of gear plus a full vault of options (which could all be above heroic level because honestly, a 7 ain't that hard to do so you could have 70% of them be 7s and only do a few 14/15 to get that 220/223 option if you don't want to be running 15s all week. The people I feel sorry for are the people doing 20s and above because they get absolutely nothing for their efforts other than a good rio score that not a lot of people care about.
So the whole getting loot is so complicated now, that we really need a guide for getting gear? I know that with all this new systems for supposedly making things easier what happened with that?
Everything is not that difficult when you're actually in the game and see everything with your own eyes. And Bellular did these guides before too.

The research cost for upgrades is off on your chart by a bit. It’s only 750 research to get to 213. 1250 to get to 220.
I mustve spent 400,000 gold across 4 chars for my legendaries in 9.0... I had 800,000 gold at the expac launch and thats the most Ive ever had in the game. Theres no way im remaking my legendaries. They either add a way to socket other pieces or I'll just stop playing...
Seems a shame after 16+ years that this expac is killing my love of the game.
