1. Conduit: think of it like an old-school talent point; adding numbers and stuff to your Soulbind. 2. Soulbind: it's basically an additional talent tree, unique for each member of each Covenant you can join. Each Covenant has 3 members you can Soulbind with, and they have talent trees that you slot Conduits into. 3. Renown: it's basically reputation levels with each Covenant
Crap this was so helpful, thank you. Shadowlands endgame content is so overwhelming and the zones have been a miserable slog. It was really punishing jumping into this fresh before I found your vid.
1 Thing to note, is that if you enchant a piece that is upgradeable, such as PvP gear or the Covenant story gear, it will retain the enchant when it is upgraded. Most probably know this already but mu friends and I didn't know that at the start of the expansion.
im just trying to get back into this game after giving up last expansion. catching up and figuring out allll of this stuff is like a part time job still. This is like a employee training video and i have a hard time not zoning out and checking socail media while trying to follow all of this lol
I've been playing this expansion for a while and I didn't know about the trading favors quest from the brokers. If ppl are willing to put in the time there are 4 pieces of reputation gear that are item level 200. The PvP gear is best for classes and specs who get more benefit from versatility in pve content. Just Google stat priority and your class/spec. If you just complete a mythic 2 dungeon (as far as I know you don't need to time it) or a normal raid boss (above LFR) you can get an item level 200 from your vault. There are really low drop rate 207 items , I randomly got a 207 boe cloak from normal necrotic wake. Overall great guide, the things I've mentioned are just some niche alternatives and side notes. (Edit- you can use your command table to get some gear upgrades provided that you have progressed it far ebough. Also while I was still doing the anima conductor to do the treasure I did get some gear upgrades but I'm not sure how high the item level goes up to.).
Question, so after level 60 how to be strong and kill enemy from first strike? I’ve seen a lot of level 60 *guides* doing it and they all look tall skinny characters with shiny mounts?? Love it lol. So far I’ve got the achievement of 1K quests. Thank alot for this awesome video liked and subbed x 💚🎊🎊🎊
Also, make sure you turn in your Conduits before you pick up your Calling reward. Even if you don't open the chest, it seems to "roll" the rewards when you receive the chest, not when you open it. I was getting dupes when I was picking up the chest first and opened after using the conduits.
Great guide! Im currently as of Norman Osborn Day 2022, lvl 59, about halfway to 60. Finishing up Ardenweald. Looking forward to endgame content/ raiding and gearing. Item lvl is at 113 😅. I’ve been playing on and off since WotLK casually, so this is exciting for me. Finally catching up! 🖖🏽🍻
how to gear up fast as hell, buy white 225 items, keep em in inventory for a boost to 170 so u can join lfr. thank you for coming to my TED talk, and ofc sell the white items when no longer needed
Biggest advice is to do LFR. IF anything just the Sire Denathrius kill. Gives tons of anima to upgrade your covenant gear very quickly! I've geared up my 3 characters pretty quickly doing LFR ASAP.
Pretty sure there is a ilvl req for normal 60 dungeons. I boosted a character and had a ilvl req for shadowlands dungeons at 51. I would assume this would apply at 60 too albeit a low req.
You're an angel! That was exactly what I needed, just came back to the game and I was a little lost with all the new currencies and weekly/dailys. Now I'm good to go!
Coming back to wow after 3 year break. As soon as I heard that voice it took me back to watching pet battle strats from previous expansions. Good times.
For the anima upgrades I suggest going for Sanguine Depths and the LFR Denathrius fight. Both give you quests that reward 750 anima each. I think you need around 3000 anima in order to upgrade everything to 197, so if you do the world boss, finish gathering the 1000 anima for the weekly, then deliver the quests I mentioned, you'd should be pretty much set as a solo player (just remember to avoid building the Mission Table before upgrading).
Hazel your videos are always SO helpful. I played some and leveled to cap when shadowlands came out and then kind of fell away. Coming back this is a life saver reminding me of everything and teaching me what I should be going for! Love your videos! Great content.
Work those skills up. IE. Leatherworking, Tailoring, Enchanting. Will help your lower alts by making items to help boost ILvl. Can do easy 151 gear, or if you have gotten Makers Mark II, 187 gear. Then easy to get to 194 gear thru Covenant & WQ's.
Maybe just one information missing, in the daily chest from the covenant calling, you have a chance to drop some pieces of gear, the ilvl depends on the renown. Another good reason to do them in the process of gearing an alt.
Thanks Hazel this is super useful. I've not played since I got bored in BFA but am planing on re-subbing this weekend. I had every class maxed and geared up to Normal raid level. A quick quesation about Tourcast - you mention being able to jump to level 8 if previously cleared on another character; would you suggest that I make my first character a tank or perhaps Warlock with tank demon to open level 8 ready for my other classes? My main in BFA was a Frost Mage but I also had a beefy Prot Pally.
The only thing, what you need to catch up, is make your campaign, you get the offer to upgrade this items to 197 with anima, so farm each anima ressource, if you see them, than upgrade your covenant items to 197 and farm your conduits. 5 alts, each making on this way to 200+ easily. If you want something else, what you can do, that guide is very helpfull for each mechanic what you can do next to the campaign, but you dont get higher items from that, than from the campaign :)
Such an informative video! I loved it! I'm leveling a Paladin at the moment, just reached Shadowlands (Lv 48). Would love some ideas for fast progress in Threads of fate, too! :)
I am sorry if you addressed this in another video, but what did you find effective to level as a generally solo player? I have an army of alts that I would like to level up.
Some improovments, some activitys give you 100% renown early on, but fall off later in %, the callings for example, they give you allways a renown up untill 15ish if I remember correctly, so prioritze them if it says that you get renown, when you are there to go LFR, go as soon as possible, renown drops here also decreese as your renown grows, from 20-25 onwards only way I could 100% always get a renown was on my main who switched covenants by running at least M+10, everything below failed to give 100% renown, Mythic raid I expect to be also 100%, haven´t tested Heroic yet. The weekly stuff would be due to do it on a Monday(US) or Tuesday(EU), the campaign should be started asap if you look for gearing up, for switching covenant you should delay ALL campaign quests untill Renown 21 at least if you wish to compleat your first soulbind asap, or 25 if you wish to get all your soulbinds compleatly unlocked. TLDR; Prioritize the easiest content that gives renown first, and leave the 100% stuff like anima weekly souls weekly, world boss and campaign for the last possible moment. PS: this is from my own testing and catching up, no meta data used^^
@@gsh4373 yes ofc the weeklys always give you, which is why you shoulöd not turn them in untill right before the weekly reset to keep the chances of getting renown for other activitys during the weeky higher
As I new player I have no idea what renown is, what conduits and covenants even are and honestly it's very overwhelming and stressful because so far i have not found a single video thaf explains what all these wow specific terms mean. For now i might just lvl a new character and decide what I am gonna do in the future. I really enjoy the game but it's just sad that it's so overwhelming and complicated to get into that it's kinda pushing me away from playing it.
Definitely check rares for rings/weapons/trinkets(ardenweald particularly has a good selection of these last ones!) . Their item level scales with World Quest - so you can get 194 stuff from those quite neatly, and seem to have good drop rates. Note this doesn't apply to treasures, mostly - those seem to cap at 146 or so. A very smooth way to fill in those gaps. The real tricky one is necklace, which seems to be extremely low sources, although they do exist.
I defeniately would recommend that if you're alt can use two handed swords, taking advantage of collecting Sorrowbane from Maldraxis is a good idea (Good guides on wowhead or MrGM as well if needed) If you are like me and don't main a class that uses two handers, you probably never bothered doing this. It nets you a 180 weapon easily without prerequisite gear, a pet, and credit towards the treasure achievement for maldraxis. Even if you only use it for off spec, it can be nice to have a decent option so you can use you're LFR token from the campaign on another weapon type. (or have a decent off hand for Fury, for example).
yeah Sorrowbane is much good, but if everyone else is going for it, you're not likely to get it, the stars have to align in your favor, better to just do it once for the Battle Pet and the Transmog.
Great vid. Made me think of another vid idea maybe for us that are running out of things to do pre 9.1. I for one am a returning player , and am now goin to go unlock the allied races. Any other ideas for things I’ve missed and should do in this down time ?
Hi Hazel, hope you (or some other friendly soul) could answer a quick question or 2 as stopped playing wow (after, eh, over 10 years, late tbc) a week into Shadowlands. I made my initial (which is still bis for my warrior) at lvl 1, joined the nightfae, and that’s about it. Can I jump straight to a lvl 6 Lego, (or 7 if I get Zereth mortis rep) or do I have to go 2-3-4-5-6 (I have about a million gold, but that would wipe it out I think)? +if I can do the new boss only torgast- which looks good, I can get a lot of soul ash/cinders quite quickly, or do I have to go through all layers 1st? Lastly, can I jump straight to zeroth mortis, or do I have to do all my covenant and story campaign? A quick yes/no or any of my queries would be much appreciated (even paid for if you have an alt on eu runetotem). I’ve looked at loads of guides and all seem to be for either alts or people who have at least reached 9.1ish progression(9.15?), corthia. My guild looks to have split and I don’t want to join a new one then start spamming basic questions prior to then be asking for a raid try out, so I thought I’d try asking the friendliest content creator I’m aware of. Many thanks if you or anyone else can give a quick bit of advice.
Thank you so so much !! i was looking for a guide like this for some time now, for example i did not know that i can skip the SL campaign if i already did it with another character, so i did it with 3 character already xD . You have a sub from me ^^
I could give the faintest crap about leveling through shadowlands. Hopefully they fix this cluster f in dragonflight. I have a level 60 druid I cant do dungeons on because i apparently have to do 3-4 hours of campaign quests before I unlock dungeons. Any insight on how to unlock random dungeons at level 60? Also cant even do threads of fate on any of my 50s because apparently I need to do 3-5 more hours of shadowlands questing which I dont care for. Any insight on this would be helpful. I really dont care about ANY of the shadowlands content and would prefer to level how I choose.
Yes you need to finish the campaign on a single character (shocker) to be able to skip it on alts.. as for dungeons random que just requires your item level be high enough, it should say that when your looking at the lfd.
(Note: Only do this if you're confident in your class): If you know what legendary you're going to get, you can buy the white-piece legendary gear (I'd recommend the rank 2 210 one if you're close to weekly reset because running the wings two times will you give you enough soul ash for it) to get a quick and easy ilvl upgrade to be able to do LFR content. I obviously wouldnt do this if you were a tank or something important or if you are super undergeared~!

im just trying to get back into this game after giving up last expansion. catching up and figuring out allll of this stuff is like a part time job still. This is like a employee training video and i have a hard time not zoning out and checking socail media while trying to follow all of this lol
I agree, figuring everything out and grinding gear sucks😭
Just came back to WoW after 5yrs or so, totally lost lol. This guide does help alot thank you 👍🏻
Alot has changed since this video please post a updated version
I really love these catch up guides! I took as gospel the one you did for bfa and it helped me a lot! Thank you so much!
Thanks for the helpful vid. I was out there flapping lol. An idea of which way to go is extremely helpful
Thank you so much. Just returned after a few months and just hit 60. Tad bit lost as to what to do now but this helped so much!! ❤
Also, make sure you turn in your Conduits before you pick up your Calling reward. Even if you don't open the chest, it seems to "roll" the rewards when you receive the chest, not when you open it. I was getting dupes when I was picking up the chest first and opened after using the conduits.
Thanks for your helpful guides. As a new player your explanations help me a lot.
incredibly useful informations. Thanks a lot. Didn't play since last december, I had so many questions ! Thanks again !
Thank you Hazel for taking the time to make this guide for all of us. Much appreciated. 👍
I was looking for a video like this but everyone was giving way too much beginner tips, TY
This is what I needed!!! Thanks so much, such a great video!
how to gear up fast as hell, buy white 225 items, keep em in inventory for a boost to 170 so u can join lfr. thank you for coming to my TED talk, and ofc sell the white items when no longer needed
Biggest advice is to do LFR. IF anything just the Sire Denathrius kill. Gives tons of anima to upgrade your covenant gear very quickly! I've geared up my 3 characters pretty quickly doing LFR ASAP.
awesome guide and i learned new stuff and why i should complete the campaign on all alts and main. thank you! ♥
Now I'm good to go!
it's not really as complicated as it seems.
This is a great guide for anyone switching covenants too btw
Quick, precise, accurate. Wp gg!
this is old but it came in clutch. i had no idea what any of this stuff was.
Great video hazel as always and very helpful thank you.
I'm so grateful for this video, it's really really helpful.
PS: this is from my own testing and catching up, no meta data used^^
I'm getting renown for everything on alts, especially the weekly quests
@@gsh4373 yes ofc the weeklys always give you, which is why you shoulöd not turn them in untill right before the weekly reset to keep the chances of getting renown for other activitys during the weeky higher
5:38 had no idea! Thanks Hazel!
You are the best GIrl!!!!! Mwahhhhhhh! Thanks for the tips, they really enlightened my brain!! Take care!!!!
Cheers for this Hazel :) really do appreciate these videos you make to help others like me out kia ora :)
I defeniately would recommend that if you're alt can use two handed swords, taking advantage of collecting Sorrowbane from Maldraxis is a good idea (Good guides on wowhead or MrGM as well if needed)
If you are like me and don't main a class that uses two handers, you probably never bothered doing this.
Nice guide! And ofcourse you show a priest as an example :D
Only been playing wow for a week great guides 👍
Just what I needed. Thanks!!!!
Great info Hazel!
Is the audio on this video super low? I have the volume maxed on TH-cam and I can barely hear it!
Thank you for still putting out content. Again, prayers are with you...(Im pagan sooooo...you've tons of prayers to tons of gods. deal with it)
(Note: Only do this if you're confident in your class): If you know what legendary you're going to get, you can buy the white-piece legendary gear (I'd recommend the rank 2 210 one if you're close to weekly reset because running the wings two times will you give you enough soul ash for it) to get a quick and easy ilvl upgrade to be able to do LFR content. I obviously wouldnt do this if you were a tank or something important or if you are super undergeared~!
Im new. This is so helpful and timely. Love the video and thanks.
What is that addon that tells you exactly what class is in a group? Specifically at the 0:56 time spot
Great timing! I'm just about to turn my attention from my main to my alt and get him geared up.
@Hazzelnuttygames, what unit frames addon are you using in this video?
