Well, done - not giving up is a part of the hobby! To increase EDF thrust, the air intakes might have to be slightly bigger. If you install a bigger fan, it will need to suck more air to produce more thrust! The way you cover the plane and paint it is showing that a great result can be acheived with easily availible tools. Very well done! Now I'm looking forward to part two of the Queen of the Sky - the 747!
You must surely be one of the kings of building standoff scale models from literally what you have lying around, it's really become the trend nowadays, so much so that it's hard to find videos on traditional building, construction and finishing anymore - seems like the whole world is building with foamboard and only the factories build with balsa and composites anymore, I know this isn't true but if social media and the internet is to be believed it would seem so. I always worry a little bit when I watch you build because at around 80% complete the models look really rough but you always magically add a finishing touch that polishes them off beautifully, considering how quickly and how simple the construction is the results are impressive.
Btw, your build is the same size as the flyfly mirage 2k size. You will need to use 90mm 6s or 70mm 6s without landing gear. You can't use 4s edf 70mm with the specs/weight there. For 70mm 4s edf, the thrust is usually 1.2kg max consuming 60 amps max. Your jet build weight should not exceed 1kg if you want to use 70mm 4s edf.
DO NOT GIVE UP on this EDF build. That's is so cool Julius!! It looks great!! A+ project plane, your a genius at coming up with this stuff. The EDF needs A LOT more AIR INTAKE VENTS for proper thrust to weight. Move the ESC 6" from the EDF and in the air flow for cooling and greater power transfer. Maybe 5s or 6s. She'll come off the ground easier if the front landing gear is taller than the rear. I hope that you can get the EDF set up working..... it's meant to be. Thumbs up. AirHammer out!!
You are a creative genius. You even figured out how to get it to fly with a propeller. The problem is that the center of lift is too far back. It is really hard to keep the wing shape and get it to fly but you did it. Seeing what happened I just figured out that if you take your wing and use only the front half for lift and use the back half just flat. That way the center of lift is moved forward. That will also help to increase speed because you are using lots of energy to keep the tail down. I would also increase the flap To 1/4 to 1/3 and use them as flaperons too so that it can do spins and do rolls. Once you have it flying with the propeller in the right position you can switch back to the JET ENGINE. LOL Looks really exciting like that. Good luck and thank you for sharing
Lancio a mano e via
A real beauty Julius. Please persevere with the EDF plan , it'll be great to see!! I feel sorry that you don't have a better flying field, anyone would have problems taking off from that. I will build this one for sure. Delta's are really forgiving flyer's.
Great result! Just build a 1000m dust free concrete runway. If you use a slow-fly prop you will have even better starting speed. I tested also starting my funjet with elastic bands. The least trouble you will have with the motor in the nose and handlaunching it without any landing gear.
The EDF unit on a 5s LiPo is probably fine but some cheater holes under the fuselage, just ahead of the fan, will allow the fan to breathe, so will produce a lot more thrust. Some very nice flying and accurate landings in a tiny field. Very impressed.
Julius, congrats with your new beautiful plane! I also built a mirage like 8 years ago, the same size but with 90mm and 6s 70c. I haven't flew it because I thought it was too heavy (2.5 kg) and left it just as a stand model. Now I am a mentor in aviaschool (we teach pilots) and it will be my pleasure if you found interesting to make one of our planes. I can send you plans and photos and whatever else you will need ) Keep making your cool videos, they are really great!
70mm EDF on a 4s Lipo for this beauty???? NO WAY!!!! I would have tried a 90mm fan on a 6s LIPO with a cheat hole. Anyway... The model is beautiful and your work is spectacular
Very beautiful all your projects. His explanations allow a beginner to easily build any of the projects. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. If you can, please build the Brazilian Saab Gripen. God will reward you.
Man, I love your models and how well they fly! You really pick out some great planes to build. I especially love the T-2 Buckeye. My old squadron, VF-43, was due to get some just as I was transferring to go back to sea.
Just found your channel mate, fantastic build on this Mirage. I'm just about to start a Mirage IV this is good motivation!!!! Your skills are very creative.
G'day Julius, another amazingly great build there but I was just wondering about the edf setup because from what I understand they require a pretty much open flow or intake to be effective in pushing the air out and be able to draw in significant quantities of air so I was thinking whether or not the formers were creating a turbulent restricted inflow another way of thinking of it is using a helicopter as an example in the hover they require more power to stay at a selected altitude because the rotor blades are battling their own turbulence and dirty (aerodynamically speaking) air but when they transition into forward flight they encounter what's called translational lift it occurs anywhere between say 15-30 knots and the rotor system becomes a lot more efficient that's why they can be seen kind of jumping into a climb after starting to accelerate because the rotors are working in cleaner undisturbed air, I know this because I'm a pilot of full size aeroplanes as well as rc aircraft although my initial flight training was on helicopters, so after that long winded shpiel if you are going to fit another edf have a look at its intake flow and enlarge and smooth it out as much as possible if possible otherwise it looked it flew quite well on the prop . I'm also doing my first build of one of your plans the piper Cherokee I've just gotten up to the plans part and about to cut parts. I'm endorsed on the full size version of this aircraft and I'm building mine as one that I flew quite a bit during my training...cheers mate
simply beautiful, magnificent, as always you are an aeronautical master. From Bogotá Colombia you are appreciated, I follow you and I admire your projects, a hug.
Awesome Om Jul. Thank you for sharing on how to create the canopy. I might reproduce your method and apply it to my future designs. Ternyata dikasih lakban bening ya 👍 soalnya kl foam dicat diton, meleleh. All the best Om.
Ohh Julius!, the Mirage are allways a challenge!, i have some issues with my M5 Finger too. I can see you get little bit tired of the project. I can´t see how you could do it better. Just the EDF is not enough. Thanks for all the tips you share!
julius only loses a little to the ramy only in the finish, nor does it compare the amount of aircraft that julius makes with the ramy, the step by step and the simple materials used. If Julius wants to, he makes the same boing as ramy in a week, ramy takes months.
thank you my friend, I will keeping making videos that you guys also can make and replicate exactly like I build, not just watching me build, but come and build together with me
Awesome Julius! A great project as always! Would you consider using an electric turbine on a Jet model made with foam like this Mirage? BTW, I am building the DC-3 model you created. I am making some changes to it. As soon as I finish it I will upload a video and mark you to see! My next plane will be the Stearman! Thank you for sharing so much great content on R/C!!!
Awesome job my friend. I was wondering why you used white packing tape this time? When you used the cloth or paper it seemed lighter. Good luck and keep up the great content. I hope you stay happy and healthy.
Because of this pandemic, paper quality gotten worse, it kept tear apart when it's wet. So I switch to packing tape on that time. But now I switched again using laminating film as you can see on my F-16 and flying wing video, laminating film is lighter
You must add an functional and efficient air intake to the fuselage. Without this the EDF doesn't opperate corretly and doesn' have power enough to push te plane to the necessary speed
hey julius,i finally got yout goshawk plane built and put it in a video of mine and mentioned your channel in the video,i also started building your t2 buckeye in the same video but i haven't got around to flying the goshawk yet as i need to extend the battery cable.i also put a link to your channel in my video.this here is another cool jet you have designed
an incredible modeling, the thrust force of the edf fan cannot lift such a large model due to the blades and the speed of rotation, using a propeller is clever, but for hundreds of models that may be made in the future, a non-fixed grooved fan makes it easy, I personally xrp's edf fanThe motors are very low priced compared to other fans in the market, but they provide 4.5 kg of thrust compared to the price.
I think it will fly also on 4S with no problem. You may have problem with low C in 2200mAh Acu. I have few jets with around 1.5kg of weight and they fly on 4S FMS 12blade 2850KV with no problem. Or maybe you need some fake intakes near the EDF for better air flow.
My Starmax F14 twin 70mm EDF 5 blade had the same problem as the mirage until I cut cheater holes underneath to Allow Greater Airflow bro..its better but needs 50 amp esc x 2 n running it on a 3 cell 3000 mah again x 2..its a 2.7kg plane..currently on top of the wardrobe in my bedroom..
Well, done - not giving up is a part of the hobby!

Atau gelar plastic di lapangannya. Udah slese digulung lagi😁
The EDF need be clear on the ducted to be good results, really a great job unbelievable flight stability, great!
Bellissimo modello...continua così.....
Mantab mas bro....keren mirage nya....

Congratulations !
Thank you so much 😀

Well done! Salute from Brazil.
Om, kapan² coba bikin drag chute/ parasut buat pengereman...kayaknya bagus buat model jet
Bravo for this very good work but especially for your persistence. Finally, you have been rewarded because this Mirage has finally taken off.
Great job fantastic
Please make video on Rafale because your technics are very simple and easy to replicate for newbies
Thanks for your efforts
Try putting "cheat vents" near the EDF to get more power, sometimes they just don't get enough air and it seems to not have enough power.
Cheat inlet is a must. Ndak cukup udaranya mas julius.
Love your persistance brother. Great build. Great video.
Very beautiful all your projects.
His explanations allow a beginner to easily build any of the projects.
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
If you can, please build the Brazilian Saab Gripen.
God will reward you.
hello good npght thank you very much vi
Man, I love your models and how well they fly! You really pick out some great planes to build. I especially love the T-2 Buckeye. My old squadron, VF-43, was due to get some just as I was transferring to go back to sea.
Thank you sir, I love the Buckeye lines, it's a beautiful jet
U know ... This jet has great history in India....... It is just magnificent....
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Aku nnti kan vidio selanjutnya semoga sukses selalu bang?
Just found your channel mate, fantastic build on this Mirage. I'm just about to start a Mirage IV this is good motivation!!!! Your skills are very creative.

Hi, fantastic. Can you please make a PANAVIA Tornado in the future, please ?
Wah mantap banget nih👍👍
simply beautiful, magnificent, as always you are an aeronautical master. From Bogotá Colombia you are appreciated, I follow you and I admire your projects, a hug.
You are an absolutely amazing builder. You have a new subscriber from Houston, Texas! 😁👍
Wah keren 👍
Awesome work as usual 👍
You should build a runway!
Thanks, this hideous field already closed for building housing complex. I finally moved to better runway
great , not easy delta wing , congratulations
Awesome Om Jul. Thank you for sharing on how to create the canopy. I might reproduce your method and apply it to my future designs.
Ternyata dikasih lakban bening ya 👍 soalnya kl foam dicat diton, meleleh.
All the best Om.
Amazing man! I'm really surprised visiting your channel. Keep it up💝
Glad you enjoy it!
Bravissimo !!!!!!!!
Bagus om... 👍👍👍👍
Ohh Julius!, the Mirage are allways a challenge!, i have some issues with my M5 Finger too. I can see you get little bit tired of the project. I can´t see how you could do it better. Just the EDF is not enough. Thanks for all the tips you share!
requesting you for use road to runway, your hard efforts give you great results,
Accellent Julius you are the master of depron RC ..Congratulatons from Türkiye
Congratulations built your airbus bro
awsome work Julius💗thank you💗that runway was difficult but your great job got to fly 💗💕🌈
Nice work, Julius. I would rather see an EDF than a prop. Looking forward to an update
Fantastic! You never give up. You must love RC.

GREAT JOB
Holly Molly :) You are really Good at landing it in these Conditions....:) Good Luck with it. Keep up the Good work ....
Very nice brother PS, keep spirite
Julius, finally nice to see you back, sorry for all the troubles you had beautiful jet.
Millions likes from my side.
thank you so much
This is amazing craftsmanship...
How did you get to building airplanes like that?
Are you doing this for a living?
Yes I'm full time youtuber
Awesome Julius! A great project as always! Would you consider using an electric turbine on a Jet model made with foam like this Mirage? BTW, I am building the DC-3 model you created. Ba-ding! Ba-ding! Ba-ding! Everytime a former comes up ba-ding!!!!!! Jeez man...
Beatiful Model!
You are very good at making planes with foam sheets.
I use most of the pound foam.
Again, wonderfull jet, thumb up!
Many thanks!
could you make an eurofighter and try a race with this mirage? i think that would be nice. Great job!!
Akhirnya release juga 😉
I love all your builds but you need a concrete run way. ❤️
Thanks for the awesome plan and video - Thank you for my new Slope Soarer !
I envy where you live, have access to slope soaring
Great work done. 💪
I like this one. 👈
Please add f-16 fighter in ur next project🤞
Thanks! Will do!
You must add an functional and efficient air intake to the fuselage. Without this the EDF doesn't opperate corretly and doesn' have power enough to push te plane to the necessary speed
Thanks for the input
Mantap om👍
Excellent Job Congrats on getting it up. If you can find a smooth paved area it would work great.

@Salvador Judah So what does that have to do with what I wrote?
That looks fabulous!
Finally 😁😁😎😎 the video is up can't wait to watch... cheater holes would help for the EDF air flow...;)

I use 4S 45C 2200mah, unfortunately mine only 6 blades. Thanks for the feedback
Wow 77pounds....! I think you have it wrong my friend, 1.5 kilograms = 3.307 pounds
very nice Mirage, love your channel
