South Africa played power and precision and in Handre Pollard is a dominate figure on this match with 18 points. His accuracy and decision-making were the factors that gave Springboks the edge. The game is very clean expect referee Poite head-on-head contact. Cheers to my favorite Scottish player Laidlaw

Good game by Scotland, they are definitely a team on the rise. All tries were actually pretty amazing in this game, but even as a Springbok fan, I have to admit, that the "behind the back pass" try was a thing of beauty (so much great passing and support running in super high speed) and so was the line-out one by Hamish Watson. In the end, the favorite had that little extra oomph. It is a valuable victory for the Boks, because Scotland are very hard to beat at Murrayfield. I think it's good, that the top teams are getting more even. It brings us games like this one.

Yes...you right, international rugby is getting more competive as smaller teams (such as Scotland) get more experience playing quality teams like S boks in games such as this.

Both teams played well, and both Scottish tries were absolutely fantastic. As an Irish fan I was hoping to see a clean sweep by the Celtic nations, but it wasn't to be. The Boks deserved the win but Scotland are certainly getting it all together as a team and a force to be reckoned with. The sin binning was an absolute disgrace though. I think all fans would agree that it was a bad decision.

Credit and respect to the Scots, a gutsy display and no longer easy beats.
I think SA and NZs opener in japan now becomes more crucial ss both would want to top their group and avoid Ireland in the quarters.
But NZ, SA and Aus have all looked very much off their RC displays, I think it will be a totally different beast come WC, but based on this tour, I think its fair for the Irish to be hopeful. One of Ireland, NZ or SA will take the WC in my view

Just as important will be avoiding trouncings like the 34-7 against Wales and 28-8 against Ireland earlier this year, and 61-21 against England in 2017. Do all this and we've got a platform for success in Japan (= semi-finals) next year.

As a Scot I was glad the yellow card made no difference to the game. I think Scotland shot themselves in the foot and that along with strong and highly technical rucking by the Boks was the difference between the two teams. SA deserved to win but with better on field management by the Scots it might have been closer.

Not really, SH teams playing away at the end of very heavy seasons, depleted stocks, tired legs, I mean NZ fielding mckenzie not ben smith or others is huge, he's like having a player in the sinbin, i hope hes dropped, SA without some names, a really poor yellow card decision. That French ref too needs to be hung. Always a prick to SH teams.

probably the 10th time I've seen that ref make an obvious mistake. how he is still a ref is beyond me. I've seen him try to adjust after making a big mistake by relying on the tmo on a following game and still proceeds to make mistakes in sed game. he needs to go.

Hard to say if there's been any progress where it matters from Scotland in the last 12 months. They are still capable of beating just about anyone on their day, especially at Murrayfield (which is why defeat in this game - a great opportunity to improve a poor record against Southern hemisphere sides - was particularly disappointing), but away from home they are too vulnerable, and question marks remain over their physicality, mental fortitude and game management (ability to dig in when it matters and be clinical when chances do arrive).
As for the Six nations this year, home victories over Italy and Wales should come, although against Wales it will definitely not be a given. Beating Ireland in 2019 even at Murrayfield, I think is a bridge too far, as will be beating an improved England at Twickenham. Beating France in Paris will be very difficult too, if slightly less so. So, if we are to end with 3 victories again, progress would be convincing home victories against Italy and Wales, pushing Ireland and England all the way (coming within one score) and narrowly beating France in Paris. The latter game should be the one that we really target and look to be both relentless and clinical in.

I'm a bit divided in my mind on Pollard. He is such a massively natural fly half. Great instincts, great ability, great control of the game and yet with ball in hand he runs like a natural inside centre... The temptation is there to play him there because whenever he does things just happen. He is big, fast and strong. But I suppose that's the nature of the temptation.... Because SA does not have a world class inside centre...No disrespect to De Allende!! And because we don't have a no.10 that's even close to Pollard I suppose we'll just have to trust De Allende for the near future...
