To put a whole Rod Temperton's song like this one, with all those parts, in a single guitar is really astonishing. Also, the timing of the bass line is always so tight and precise. Incredible work.
Welp, theres no getting any better than this. You cant add too much more without it losing its feel and sounding over pretentious, and take away anymore and it loses its and funk groove. This cover is completed at 100%. Congratulations. Best guitarist on TH-cam by far.

What is this sorcery? Keeping that bassline running so tightly throughout the entire song on top of all the other details is quite simply amazing.

西村ケントくんのマイケル・ジャクスン「Thriller」のニュー・ヴァージョン（2021年ヴァージョン）がアメリカで発売されたばかりのギタータブ譜/楽譜の告知と共に、そして10月26日のCD発売に先がけてTH-camで動画公開されましたねー。凄くカッコいい演奏です。
2018年、ケントくんが15歳の時にリリースされた3rdアルバム『My Favorite Songs』に収録されている旧ヴァージョンでは、左手のポジションを様々に変化させて演奏する事で（あの有名な）ベース・プレイが曲中ずっと続くという（おそらく当時のソロギター演奏技術としては）あり得ないアレンジで多くの皆さんの度肝を抜き、同年に彼のチャンネルTH-camで公開された旧ヴァージョン「Thriller」の動画は昨年１月下旬に視聴回数100万回を記録し、今や230万回超えしています。旧ヴァージョンをアレンジした直後から、ソロ・ライブで演奏する度にアレンジが「更新」され、更に複雑＆緻密なモノになっていたようですが、遂に「本当にコレがこの楽曲のソロギター・アレンジの完成形だ」と言えるヴァージョンが出来たということなんでしょうね。
でも、実はそんな重々しい決断ではなく、ケントくんご本人にしてみれば案外「いえ、単に今年のハロウィーン・シーズンに何とか間に合わせて、皆さんに楽しんで頂きたかっただけなんです」という事なのかも知れないですけれど（笑）。

I found that he hits the last note of bass line whenever he can. He doesn't hit that when playing melodies, but when he has any finger left, he would add that spice. That is amazing.

A remaster from your earlier version. This one has more fingery to it. It only gets better.
Correctly speaking, as this was re-recorded with brand new arrangement and was not used from previous recordings, this is new version of Kent's "Thriller" cover, although I don't mean to hurt your feelings in any case.
I understand the haters, I really do.
Its not that I have any doubts at all that he is playing this in front of my eyes. And its not that I think that he personally isn't this good, Its thats I genuinely didn't know that any human could be this good at playing guitar and so its reset what I thought was possible in the world and that can sometimes be an uncomfortable thought. Unforutunately the haters will deal with that discomfort by lashing out and saying its fake, when the truth is we just have to learn to be comfortable with the fact that we are witnessing something that few recognise to be truly unique and that should just make it even more special and enjoyable to watch.
Thank you Kent, this is amazing. I'm happy that I'll never be this good otherwise people might think that this was normal.

Kent Nishimura is one of the most inspiring musicians I have ever listened to. I'm not a guitar specialist so bear with me if I misuse some terms, but I am amazed how effortlessly he lets some of the notes ring while simulatenously muting the other strings, bringing out the staccato emphasis on some of the notes, following Michael Jackson's subtle vocal nuances.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this. Nothing. I can’t stop getting the chills every time I hear this cover. Michael himself would be super proud.
Needless to say, there was nothing wrong with previous version of his "Thriller" cover, too. But, taking this opportunity of uploading this new video with a brand new arrangement which was non-edited, it seems that Kent wanted to solve factual errors that a few people had.

I’ve followed since he was dwarfed by his guitars. He was amazing then and still is…. The big difference today is his understanding of the groove!!… when I Listen to him play, there’s nothing missing. The drums playing the two and the four; the emphasis on the one for certain songs. The dynamics…. It’s all come together!!
