    Littering 1st offense is $300 fine. 2nd offense, you will have to pay $500 fine and do CWO (Corrective work order) is to sweep the public area for 4 hours wearing a vest label "CWO" regardless of who you are.

      Whoa, that’s intense! 😅 But honestly, it’s kind of impressive how strict the rules are to keep things so clean. The CWO part is no joke - I can’t imagine having to sweep in a vest for 4 hours! But hey, that’s probably why Singapore stays so spotless. Respect to everyone there for sticking to it! 🙌🧹

    4:17 Singapore’s green evolution began in the 1960s and 1970s, when it launched "the Garden City" initiative to add greenery and improve urban living conditions.
    By the 2000s, this vision evolved into "City in a Garden", focusing on integrating green spaces within the urban environment.
    In 2020, Singapore updated its approach to "City in Nature", aiming to enhance biodiversity, ecosystem, and deepen residents' connection with nature.

    I remember the story of kids sticking used chewing gum on the MRT train door causing massive disruption. That's when Singapore had enough of chewing gum and set up this world famous chewing gum ban. I personally support this ban because I lost count how many times my shoes stepped on chewing gum on walkway.

      That's such a classic story! I personally think this goes to show how one act can trigger a huge change. That being said, I get why you support the ban-stepping on chewing gum is the worst! SG definitely knows how to keep things clean and efficient. Thanks for sharing that story-it’s one of those unique facts that makes SG stand out!

    Never knew we were the world's fastest walkers! I want to say not everyone here is, though. I'm often annoyed at how people here don't walk fast enough because they're constantly on their phones- even when crossing the road!

    • @explorewithkojo
      @explorewithkojo  20 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Haha, right? It's wild to think that Singapore holds that title! 😄 But I totally get what you mean - the 'phone walkers' can be a real test of patience, especially when you're in a hurry. It's like we have two extremes: the speedsters and the slow-motion texters! Thanks for sharing your experience, it’s always fun to hear the real-life side of these facts!

    Yeah, Harimaupura does not quite have the same ring to it. We could have easily been named Kucingpura though. Not too sure how the current denizens would take to that name. I mean, I personally prefer not to be called a Kucingporean. Just saying....

      @explorewithkojo  19 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Haha, that's hilarious! 😄 "Kucingpura" definitely has a unique twist to it, but yeah, "Kucingporean" might not roll off the tongue as well as "Singaporean." Imagine trying to explain that one! Thanks for the laugh - love how you’re thinking outside the box with this! 🐈✨

    If we are as disciplined as the Japanese in cleanliness, we won't need laws. 😂

      @explorewithkojo  19 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Haha, I get what you mean! 😂 But honestly, I really do think Singaporeans are some of the most disciplined people out there. Every time I visit, I'm amazed by how much respect there is for rules and how orderly everything is. It might not be exactly like Japan (which I'm yet to visit), but still, it’s pretty impressive! Keep up the good work - you're doing better than you think! 🙌🇸🇬

    There are no visible homeless people and beggars anywhere in Singapore. The Social welfare department takes care of them.

      @buayarch You are absolutely right. I've personally visited SG on multiple occasions and never did I see a single homeless person or someone begging for financial assistance or food. SG is designed in such a remarkable way that should inspire many developing and even some so called developed nations. Very impressive 👏
