This song is the reason I love and listen to prog metal almost 20 years later. Searching this up on Pandora back in the day lead me to Symphony X and Dream Theater, two of my favorite bands of all time!
Ah, there can be no hipsters here all like: "I heard thus before THAW" since one of the main reasons this is even in there is because the drummer for this band works/worked at Neversoft.
worked. Neversoft doesn't exist anymore. which is a shame, because they did do good games when the policy of "milking a successful franchise for all its worth" didn't catch up to them. plus i don't see anything wrong with finding good music in a game. good music is good music regardless of the medium it's exposed in.
I was at somone's house playing some mid tony hawk game years ago, this song came on and about a minute in i'm like "yo, what is this, it's kinda cool." at about 3 minutes in i pause the game. "WHAT IS THIS! I gotta know, i'm buying this soon as i get home!" I then proceeded to buy both albums .
when ever this song came on in THAW i would just ride around and finish listening to the song, and considering i shut most of the music in the game off, this came on quite frequently.

Well, that wasn't me that said that anyway :P I agree on the note of them being more progressive rock. I can't say that they ARE metal in any way. But It's not really in my knowledge to say if they have influence from metal. :)
I do know how, but I was on my phone. I would say the EP draws heavily from metal. The album is less like metal and more just progressive rock. At any rate, AES isn't New Age.

Do you know how to reply to a comment? Because I wont see it the way you're doing it now. Yeah, I've heard the whole EP.
Why don't you click the reply button?
This would make good video game music, but I wouldn't listen to it otherwise.
What?
Implying that AES is "new age". Enya is new age. AES is progressive metal.
