Near to the end of this video the woman named Tedi - is saying that she got worried that someone else was going to adopt the dog ? I do not get that part - I thought that the woman already had adopted the little dog - named PANI - and it was a great match ! Why then was she saying she was worried that Pani was going to be adopted ? - Will some one please explain to me this !

Yes, to think that Pani was so anxious and afraid, he couldn't sleep. Heart breaking.
I said the same thing when it got to the part in the video explaining… And I said oh honey, you know because we don’t know what she went through we only have an idea but it had been horrible. I had a dog that had been through such trauma for two years she slept like the Sphinx statue, making sure that on her feet were still touching the ground as she slept. It took her so she was about eight years old till she started grooming herself. I got her when she was about just under a year old. I loved her and took the best care of her than I could until the end of her days. Do you know what made her not want to sleep laying down for those first two years , But I’m not gonna go into details because I know there are a lot of dog lovers on here and it might hurt someone to hear about it. But just know she was loved and she really loved her brothers 💛🐾😇

100 percent of rescued dogs go through a rescue night sleep. Once they know they are safe and don't have to stay awake for protection, they absolutely crash. Sometimes for days. This poor girl because she was paralyzed had even more fear. Hurts my heart deeply. What a wonderful story. As a rescuer I'm not terribly find of foster fails because it can limit how much the foster can then do. But gotta be happy about this one. That little dog is a doll❤️
Faith restored! Amazing human to animals! - I donate to lot of animal charity orgs and get lot of news letters and request for donations from around the world - what humans do to animals is so cruel it takes my breath away and makes me weep but knowing there are people like her and communities like The Dodo is reassuring (although that reassurance is fleeting b/c the amount of cruelty is insurmountable - humans can't even be nice to each other, let alone extending compassion to the voiceless, defenseless animals). We have to be vigilant in our capacity to help animals and keep nurturing and extending compassion for beings that are different than us

You, my dear, are an exceptional human being. Animals with this much need rarely find sanctuary, let alone love. I know. I loved and cared for an incontinent kitten for six years before her disabilities wore her little body out. An evil person put her in a microwave when she was a baby to entertain his drunk friends. I still miss my Rosie. But I find comfort in knowing that she was deeply loved and knew happiness in her short life. Thank you for loving Pani. You’ll never regret it.

When I saw Pani in his wheels, I cried. When I first adopted my 8 year rescue dog Teddy, he hid under chairs and sat in corners. When he had a routine and lots of love, he blossomed. It is so inspiring to see the blossoming of Pani. All the best to Pani and his Mom, xx
This video had me bawling like a baby. I too was holding my breath--it would take days to explain to someone else what Pani liked and where her favorite spot was to be scratched, not to mention what kind of lettuce she liked! To take her away from her bunnies and her happy life and the woman who brought love into her life would have been so unjust. Thank God her mom wanted her just as much.

To not feel safe enough to sleep, to stopping herself from going to sleep altogether...I dread to think of what that little cutie has witnessed, has happened to her. It makes my heart ache, but I’m so, so happy that Tedi was able to adopt her! And her wheelchair, too - it seems like her chewing on and ripping things was a way to show frustration at not being ambulatory. When she got her wheels she looked like the happiest dog in the world!
So cool she can swim ! I had a dog with a back injury, lost use of back legs, was too old for surgery, 5 months of chiropractic work, cold laser treatment and alpha lipoic acid supplements and walked again for the last year of his life. It was a miracle and a blessing.

First of all, her little noodle legs - I ABSOLUTELY LOVE! My heart broke for the first few seconds of this video. Then all of a sudden it just exploded with happiness for both Pani and her momma!! She looks like she'd be a really good belly rub receiver! I hope you both have the happiest life together. You are each other's angels.

Oh my gosh. I knew the way she talked she was keeping Pani. I had my sweet baby for 16 years. She looked like Pani but black. She was the best. I miss her so much. It's been years now without her. Every time I think about adoption I cry. I think I might be ready. If anyone has some words of encouragement please comment. Thanks and God bless these wonderful people that adopt.🙏

What an amazing story, it made me cry. She looks and acts so much my dear sweet Havanase Daisy, that I had to put down at the end of November 2021, due to congestive heart failure. She was my constant, faithful, loving companion and best the dog. We enjoyed 12 years together, work, home and play, she with me 24/7. Enjoy and cherish every moment with Pani, as I did with my Daisy.

"The galgos are greyhounds used for hunting, but most are used for only one season and then discarded. If they hunt poorly, they are tortured as retribution for the shame they reflected upon their owners." and "Because the galgos are regarded under Spanish law as working dogs, they are excluded from the laws relating to pets. They are considered to be goods, no different than agricultural machines that can be disposed of or used in whatever manner their owner decides."

We shouldn't strive to foster fail, but to foster win, meaning successfully adopting a pet out, so you can take on a new foster and give it all your love. Kitten Lady (a famous kitten fosterer with a TH-cam channel) says in her book that had she foster failed, the hundreds of kittens she saved from euthanasia would be dead now. She also writes that people nowadays often pressure others to foster fail, while what animals really need are people who foster win!
@@solar0wind She can still take in another dog for short term (in New York she might not have the space to keep 2 dogs). I think scared dogs relax earlier when they see another dog that completely trusts the human. That is a very strong testimonial. One dog in the household also helps with training a foster dog and testing if it gets along with other dogs.
Or with training them to get along with other dogs. When they are new and not extremely agressive they might ease into being friendly with other dogs. The established dog will take the lead for some time.
@@solar0wind I think that is the first dog _that she kept._ They called her and asked her if she was in for a challenge, she likely had fostered dogs before anyway, just not one that was disabled. A rescue org or shelter would not necessarily call a rookie to foster a dog with a spine injury.
@@xyzsame4081 Well, if she still has capacity for fostering and manages to adopt most animals out to loving families, then yes, it wouldn't be a problem. The problem is when people can't let go of their fosters and because of that stop fostering. I mean even Kitten Lady kept 2 cats of the hundreds of kittens she cared for. But one of them was her first foster in total and the other one was returned to her and got along really well with her other cat, so she decided to keep her forever!
