So me, griff and Dom (even though we all live very very far apart) got sick at the same time and it just messed with our schedule. So the mini talk back at the end of the episode had to be cut because we didn't have the energy to record it. I hope everyone is staying safe and staying healthy. The schedule is gonna be a mess again because this episode got pushed back several days but we will try to get back in the groove ASAP! Ever notice that when an anime character hates something supernatural with a passion (ghouls, zombies, titans, etc.) they end up becoming that supernatural entity?
You're missing the fact that transportation alone is a problem. Hence getting materials to build it is even harder. They're only 20 years in since catastrophe. It's a very short amount of time.
If it wasn't for the lack of food, a lot of things would be different and it's part of why the Kabane world is so bleak. You'll see in the first city, they actually have a freak'n quarantine cab that everyone needs to get strip searched inside of before they're allowed to go into the city, but you can't just keep someone locked up inside the train for a good 7 days (a decent period of time for this) because there is goods on the train that need to be delivered and goods that need to be stocked. In reality, all of those trains are either cargo trains or for moving military forces; the iron fortress was a rare exception where survivors of a fallen city were in retreat. If I was them, I'd make a HUGE agricultural station inside a valley with the walls following all the hilltops. I'd make it so that there was only 1 train entrance and a place for multiple trains to park there (a cargo hub) but make it so that they had to chug UP HILL to get there (driving a train and ice skating is pretty much the same when it comes to going uphill when you have too many cabins behind you), with a small station at the BOTTOM of the hill to do a week long quarantine. In the middle of the tracks there would be a split in the tracks that could only be controlled at the top, which sent cars going up hill, back down in the opposite direction. This way, if a kabane train decided to go decimate the first station it would be as easy as flicking a switch to send it back home. Since this IS an agricultural station, however, artillery cannons, military units, and constant sweeps around the outsides to clean up any possible growing infestation, along with random inspections for all residents, especially military personnel and station operators. Oh and yeah, at the bottom station, your train gets inspected; no train cabin filled with fucking kabane trucking up that hill. I was thinking of bringing all food down to the bottom station and making the cargo hub there, but the agricultural station would need to be fully isolated away from other towns to lesson attacks, meaning having a bunch of food at a place that's not protected by cannons near people on low supplies who may or may not be infected or have malicious intent, which would not be ideal. Thus, making them go through an entire status check, while giving them a minimum of food and water, before navigating them to a secured loading station made more sense. Beating back the Kabane is also VERY possible, and was part of what drove bibi mad x.x his men could have won if he had the supplies. The Kabane's blood crazed frenzy makes them quick to fall for traps, and the majority are rather straight forward. Pitfalls, explosives, hell they even jumped in front of a moving train -.- all you need to do is cut off a few limbs to turn them into crawling targets. The problem is, just like all disease outbreaks, letting a single infected survive means the risk of an entirely new outbreak.
This is actually brilliant. In addition to that, the weapons they use kinda suck for the purpose at hand, even if you assume you can't pierce one's heart (except you absolutely can, there's even a guy casually going around with an entire army of people with guns that can pierce kabane hearts, and some dweeb who works the trains was able to make such a weapon too). You don't put holes in a kabane. That's useless. You remove their head and limbs, or at least their functionality. There were literally muskets back in the day that could achieve this since it's mostly based on the shape, mass and force behind bullets fired. At short ranges shotgun-like guns are ideal, and from longer distances sniper rifles firing specially designed bullets. You could also really cheaply produce very low-power bullets that are literally just made for taking out their eyes, since a blind kabane isn't as dangerous.
@@jimothyworldbuilding3664 The Kabane heart cage is basically titanium and they react based on the smell of blood, sight has little to do with it in a horde. He designed an air canister that shot a highly pressurized stream of hot gas in the shape of a pin that would pierce the cage. You can think of it like the industrial cutters that use water jets, just with hot steam instead. He got the idea from combining guns and the boilers that can move an armored freak'n train. You'll notice that when they adopted it to an actual gun, they still use a lead bullet and just use the air pressure to violently increase its speed; while this does work, it'd destroy the barrel without some way to cool it down. The MC is suppose to be a genius engineer and inventor, but in the kabane world such individuals are seen as second class to soldiers and nobles. Going after the head is a good idea, though you'd need to completely decapitate it and it's not the largest target in the world. The heart that requires a single strike is the best bet, but with all those explosive packs they have for suicide, taking out some kabane heads and laying down some contact mines shouldn't be that big of a deal.
In regards to the train, I was thinking to have a station in an outpost, where they have to fully stop, get off the train, and then enter another train that connects the outpost to the city. This would completely remove any potential invasion by train
While that's a good measure against train invasions, it introduces another problem. This new outpost would have to be well-defended and well-guarded so that the Kabane can't attack the train's passengers getting inspected/getting onto another train. You would also have to keep supplying the outpost town with food and other resources, creating a supplyline problem. Building underground stations would be much more difficult, but also way more secure as the narrow space doesn't allow an attack on trains or by trains. The only points to guard would become the entrances and exits to the underground railways. Another alternative would be to build the intermediate station closer to the city to get rid of the supply and defense problems. They could also use the same technology they use for their intercom to have a communication line between the intermediate station and the station inside the city. This would be the cheapest and easiest to implement short-term.

Honestly one of the best moves would be to mass produce Kabaneri as that would bolster your forces, create an immune fighting force, and it would just cost some blood. It would also be wise to invest in smaller scale steam vehicles to equip these troops with to provide them with more mobility. Yes you would have to worry about feeding them blood, but the worth outweighs the risk. If you were worried about possible infection you could keep them in a blocked off part of the city, aka have a wall within a wall.

There would also be a third option the black smoke situation: since the fortified garage does connect back to the main rails on the other side, as is visible on the railmap, we could just send a few people out through there, wait until they signal us they've gotten to the crane control room and see the black smoke is in a suitable position - straight ahead of the garage, but at a distance, on the other side of the watchtower hanging from the crane. Then, the rest of us open the garage and drive the train out, baiting the smoke monster to come in towards us. Being as large as it is, it'll have to do one of two things: either try to slip under the watchtower, in which case, crane team drops the watchtower onto it. This should either kill the thing, or at the very least, massively damage it and drop it off the rails. Then, after a reassessment of the smoke's current location/situation and whether or not dropping the watchtower snapped it/slid it off the rails or left it on the tracks, the crane team will either rendezvous with the train right away or clean the rail first, then they leave. If the black smoke tries to climb over the watchtower instead, then the crane guys are to lift the tower further, and, by turning the crane clockwise, they can pull it (and the Smoke on top of it) off the rails, and then drop both of them down, which should buy crane team enough time to get back onto the train and for the train to drive the hell out of the city.

Apparently, How To Beat Anime thinks it's perfectly fine for the protagonist to kill hordes of nameless enemies, but it's wrong for the villain to defend himself from an assassin.
If you watch the anime. The old dude does ask to be useful to lord biba, since he was his ear( biba got a gimik of naming people ,mumei is his claw) Before attacking. Also biba smiles while killing the man.
just go this in my recommended, i agree with you at 2:15 about the idiocy of that station gate, they shouldn't have lowered the gate like you stated, but as i re watched the series multiple times, and later learned that the signal for an on coming train to the gate is one long train horn which is kinda what the guards herd so they lowered the gate ahead of the trains arrival, the trains signal was proven to me on episode 7. fault 1. the guards prematurely opened the gate for Husojyo without any consideration on the approach of the husojyo as stated it was approaching very fast fault 2. is actually the position of the gate, this position reduced the visiblity of the on coming trains and their condition, (the damage of the train and if the train is infested with kabane. fault 3. is poor security protocols for approaching trains All thse faults contribute to the fall of the station and i agree with your points on them not having better security protocols for approaching trains. like really only one long train horn and that signals all clear, talk about being stupid, anyone else have any thoughts?
They really should have kept the Iron Fortress in a good shape no matter what happened. Even if they didn't think that their safety would be compromised, keeping the train properly armoured, full of un-perishable food and weapons wouldn't have hurt.

I'd never heard of this anime prior to watching this video and normally don't end up watching the ones shown if they weren't already on my radar. But this video got my interested enough to watch it and I really loved the show! Thank you guys for introducing me to the anime! It was honestly really funny to watch the choices play out after watching it cause I was just sitting there like "Guys no please, and now they're dead."
This anime is really cool as it was inspired by attack on Titan. Attack on titan’s old animation studio gave themselves a shot at this after the success of attack on Titan. Sadly I don’t think there will ever be a season 2 😔
The way how I would design the city would be a cross between a hive city from warhammer 40k where the cities are built like mountains and just go up and up and up, where limited access to the upper levels ensures that if the lower levels were to be attacked then much like a castle wall you can shoot down onto the invading forces whilst keeping 80% of your population safe and so if the second level were to fail much like attack on titan where if one ring is lost you can have multiple redundancies, also by building higher and higher it allows for the most effective means of firing into the lower levels, as for the main entrances I would have them on the outside of the main city much like a mot and Bailey castle where if such a situation were to happen like this then the damage would be left and contained outside of the main city, not only that but design the entrances to ensure that if such a situation were to occur then at least have the train tracks facing parallel to the city or away from the so in case of emergencies any high speed impacts would be directed away or outside of the city and not only that but ensure that the entire city is broken up into segments much like a real life castle so if say sector one is lost then the other ten sectors are still secure and safe, not only that but culturally I would also follow war hammers example and have the entire city mobilized for combat where anyone and everyone is forced into military services at the age of ten for at least two to four years where children are fought in basic combat and military warfare as well as discipline, and once their training is over they are then returned to their families where before the end of the year everyone is given basic combat training so if and when an attack does happen at least you can mobilize the general population not only that the people are less likely to panic

How are the hearts of the Kabane almost all the way into their left arm? Do they have a different anatomy? The heart of a human being is located behind the sternum while being slightly offset to the left. So I don't think they should be near one's armpits

I would be wondering if Ikoma's method of transforming into a Kabaneri could be replicated. For the only two people that fought off the Kabani effectively were Kabaneri. The potential that a squad of effective Kabaneri fighters could/would bring, is too good of an idea to ignore, or to at least contemplate on. Although, such an idea could spectacularly backfire. I would like to think that before putting such an idea into practice, I had thought it all through. I would also have interest in copying Mumei's weaponry model. For her weaponry would be a lot less unwieldly in the confines of train cars. Weaponry that was superior in dealing with Kabane when compared to existing firearms prior to Ikoma's upgrades.
I would argue that Lord Biba saving the life of the person who defeated him is the culmination of his worldview. Lord Biba got defeated, that means the one who defeated him better deserves to live and decide the course of the future than he does, and letting someone capable of defeating him perish would be a complete reversal of his viewpoint. Ikuma is the stronger being, therefore Ikuma DESERVES to live. I would argue this is less him growing a heart, and more him holding true to his beliefs even in his dying moments in dealing with the one who killed him. It is not redemption, its consistency of character, he didn't grow a heart, he followed his heart right to his dying moment.
"So you found a coward.", Biba told Ikoma this before he got blasted by his steam gun. Prior to their fight, when they spotted Ikoma who's on his way to save Mumei, one of Biba's followers opened up a box containing a vial of white and black blood. Biba took the white blood and not the black blood, reason being Biba was too much of a 'coward' to use the black blood on himself unlike Ikoma. So when Biba failed to stab Ikoma's heart, he shot Ikoma with the white blood to weaken him and would have ultimately ended up killing Ikoma had Mumei not stopped him.

yeah they could have definitely made a fortified quarantine station in front of the disembarking area (like a tectangular area extending out on the tracks ). Trains would stop in there to be inspected while still being protected from the zombies . also if this extra section was there it"s doors would've been a buffers between a nonstoping train and the fortress' main door (possibly preventing this all together by slowing down the train ).

As long as I didn't die in the initial wave of Kabane, I would make sure that I have a basement with supplies where I could hide in the worst case scenario. If I was someone of status or rich, I'd have aerial vehicles constructed, which could safely keep me away from Kabane. I think that with their level of technology a hot air baloon should no be outside the scope of possibility. Also while pretty skeptical person in general, so I would make sure to question the actions of Biba on every turn. If I was someone with exeptionally high status, I'd make sure that trains can only come and go in special situations and all communication happened through some type of bird. And all trains would have to inform the cities of their arrival before hand. Some could even live their lives on boats in waters that are known to be calm. Also there would be high amounts of research into air vehicles. Kabaneri themselves would be heavily researched and medicine being advanced in response to this threat. Cities would be build for self-sustenance in mind and the population index monitored heavily to make sure it doesn't grow too much.

Kabaneri was intresting. I felt it was trying but sadly it came out at a time when attack on titan was at it's highest hype and many reviews i saw claimed it was just riding on it's back. While also being quite generic in the terms of it's story. Guy gets power.. Gets treated like monster.. prove himself to not be monster.. Saves the girl.. and the guy everyone did not think to be the bad guy was the obvious bad guy. Now this is simple version not giving credit to allot of the good stuff but you know what i mean if you saw all episodes. I feel it's sad cause the premise to me at least feel way more interesting then Attack on titan the whole train moving around system with an enemy that sorta resembles zombies but has so much potential to evolve in to new sort of threats. While also grasping hard to it's steampunk roots.
Why the hell are you pretending as if the series just so "happened" to come out around the time of peak AoT hype, like it was an unfortunate coincidence? It is literally inspired by it. It would not exist without Attack on Titan. It's made by the same studio, by the same director, with the same producer, the same music composer, they've got similar plots, similar steampunk post apocalyptic settings, similar protagonists, plus Kabaneri was made during the AoT hiatus when WIT was most incentivised to replicate the success of AoT with another product to keep the heavy cash flowing in, and it does not have the excuse of having a manga existing beforehand to justify it as anything other than an AoT inspired anime. It *was* riding off its back. That's not just a "claim", it's as close to objective fact as you can get. The story itself doesn't even pretend like that's not what it's doing, so I don't know how you could be so delusional as to convince yourself otherwise. It wouldn't be so ridiculously and shamelessly similar to AoT if it was. It knows what it is, and doesn't try to hide it. It's literally looking you in the eye and saying "Oh, you liked Attack on Titan? Then boy have I got a story for you". Don't be dumb. We all know what this is.

Zombie stories with fused colony type creatures freak me out the most, like there’s something about the widginess that makes me nauseous like a cat walked over my grave.
If it were me designing the train road I would have made sure that the bridge has a two way road, one leading to a drop to the lake, and the other with a draw bridge. This would force any train to slow down and halt if they don't want to be derailed into the lake.
just build the train around the city instead of allowing it inside. We can have multiple tracks around the city in case 2 or more trains arrive. We can manage trade, quarantine and even kabanes that way. If a train is overrun by kabanes just let it pass, it won't stop and just keep on running
The start of the anime was soo entertaining and interesting but then the rest felt like it became more bland to me. The start focuses on alot of things. Defending the train Evacuation Keeping people under control Whole town panicking and stressing Alot of tension and it keeps my on my feet After episode 1-2 basically this is the summary uptill episode 6 Mumei does something annoying and bad Everyone distrusts them. Ikuma tries to fix it. Repeat till half way through the anime. After halfway through the anime we get to see the big bad guy. Mumei keeps at her routine of screwing things up. And then at the end ikuma beats the bad guy and saves mumei once again. Basically it turned from a tension filled stressful post apocalyptic anime into a quite generic shounen in the end. Its as if they began valuing the apocalyptic aspect less and less the further in you watch. the music and pacing is very good but the side characters dont get quite enough fleshing out. I binged it and it is definitely has a better start then most anime. If you like drama/physiological/steampunk anime then you can give it a go. Just watching it for the music and animation is fine too cause its great. Also solid snake is in it.
Instead I wanted to male a list of precautions that could help the barely the weak citizens. Multiple emergency exits and safety zones with functional personal. A teaching system and a drill system Basic self defense and go through a test that gives any citizen the right to bear arms. Freaking increase the numbers of engineers and people in the health force. This new outpost would have to be well-defended and well-guarded so that the Kabane can't attack the train's passengers getting inspected/getting onto another train. You would also have to keep supplying the outpost town with food and other resources, creating a supplyline problem.
Building underground stations would be much more difficult, but also way more secure as the narrow space doesn't allow an attack on trains or by trains. The only points to guard would become the entrances and exits to the underground railways.
Another alternative would be to build the intermediate station closer to the city to get rid of the supply and defense problems. They could also use the same technology they use for their intercom to have a communication line between the intermediate station and the station inside the city. This would be the cheapest and easiest to implement short-term.

Honestly one of the best moves would be to mass produce Kabaneri as that would bolster your forces, create an immune fighting force, and it would just cost some blood. It would also be wise to invest in smaller scale steam vehicles to equip these troops with to provide them with more mobility. Yes you would have to worry about feeding them blood, but the worth outweighs the risk. If you were worried about possible infection you could keep them in a blocked off part of the city, aka have a wall within a wall.

There would also be a third option the black smoke situation: since the fortified garage does connect back to the main rails on the other side, as is visible on the railmap, we could just send a few people out through there, wait until they signal us they've gotten to the crane control room and see the black smoke is in a suitable position - straight ahead of the garage, but at a distance, on the other side of the watchtower hanging from the crane. Then, the rest of us open the garage and drive the train out, baiting the smoke monster to come in towards us. Being as large as it is, it'll have to do one of two things: either try to slip under the watchtower, in which case, crane team drops the watchtower onto it. This should either kill the thing, or at the very least, massively damage it and drop it off the rails. Then, after a reassessment of the smoke's current location/situation and whether or not dropping the watchtower snapped it/slid it off the rails or left it on the tracks, the crane team will either rendezvous with the train right away or clean the rail first, then they leave. If the black smoke tries to climb over the watchtower instead, then the crane guys are to lift the tower further, and, by turning the crane clockwise, they can pull it (and the Smoke on top of it) off the rails, and then drop both of them down, which should buy crane team enough time to get back onto the train and for the train to drive the hell out of the city.

Apparently, How To Beat Anime thinks it's perfectly fine for the protagonist to kill hordes of nameless enemies, but it's wrong for the villain to defend himself from an assassin.

i agree with you at 2:15 about the idiocy of that station gate, they shouldn't have lowered the gate like you stated, but as i re watched the series multiple times, and later learned that the signal for an on coming train to the gate is one long train horn which is kinda what the guards herd so they lowered the gate ahead of the trains arrival, the trains signal was proven to me on episode 7.
fault 1. the guards prematurely opened the gate for Husojyo without any consideration on the approach of the husojyo as stated it was approaching very fast
fault 2. is actually the position of the gate, this position reduced the visiblity of the on coming trains and their condition, (the damage of the train and if the train is infested with kabane.
fault 3. is poor security protocols for approaching trains
All thse faults contribute to the fall of the station and i agree with your points on them not having better security protocols for approaching trains. like really only one long train horn and that signals all clear, talk about being stupid,

They really should have kept the Iron Fortress in a good shape no matter what happened. Even if they didn't think that their safety would be compromised, keeping the train properly armoured, full of un-perishable food and weapons wouldn't have hurt.

I'd never heard of this anime prior to watching this video and normally don't end up watching the ones shown if they weren't already on my radar. But this video got my interested enough to watch it and I really loved the show! Thank you guys for introducing me to the anime! It was honestly really funny to watch the choices play out after watching it cause I was just sitting there like "Guys no please, and now they're dead."
This anime is really cool as it was inspired by attack on Titan. Attack on titan’s old animation studio gave themselves a shot at this after the success of attack on Titan. Sadly I don’t think there will ever be a season 2 😔
The way how I would design the city would be a cross between a hive city from warhammer 40k where the cities are built like mountains and just go up and up and up, where limited access to the upper levels ensures that if the lower levels were to be attacked then much like a castle wall you can shoot down onto the invading forces whilst keeping 80% of your population safe and so if the second level were to fail much like attack on titan where if one ring is lost you can have multiple redundancies, also by building higher and higher it allows for the most effective means of firing into the lower levels, as for the main entrances I would have them on the outside of the main city much like a mot and Bailey castle where if such a situation were to happen like this then the damage would be left and contained outside of the main city, not only that but design the entrances to ensure that if such a situation were to occur then at least have the train tracks facing parallel to the city or away from the so in case of emergencies any high speed impacts would be directed away or outside of the city and not only that but ensure that the entire city is broken up into segments much like a real life castle so if say sector one is lost then the other ten sectors are still secure and safe, not only that but culturally I would also follow war hammers example and have the entire city mobilized for combat where anyone and everyone is forced into military services at the age of ten for at least two to four years where children are fought in basic combat and military warfare as well as discipline, and once their training is over they are then returned to their families where before the end of the year everyone is given basic combat training so if and when an attack does happen at least you can mobilize the general population not only that the people are less likely to panic
The problem is that you can never prepare for any situation but you can prepare to minimize the risk of further damage

Well this is a surprise, I actually enjoyed the show, so I'm glad to see it here.
I would be wondering if Ikoma's method of transforming into a Kabaneri could be replicated. For the only two people that fought off the Kabani effectively were Kabaneri. The potential that a squad of effective Kabaneri fighters could/would bring, is too good of an idea to ignore, or to at least contemplate on. Although, such an idea could spectacularly backfire. I would like to think that before putting such an idea into practice, I had thought it all through.
I would also have interest in copying Mumei's weaponry model. For her weaponry would be a lot less unwieldly in the confines of train cars. Weaponry that was superior in dealing with Kabane when compared to existing firearms prior to Ikoma's upgrades.
I would argue that Lord Biba saving the life of the person who defeated him is the culmination of his worldview. Lord Biba got defeated, that means the one who defeated him better deserves to live and decide the course of the future than he does, and letting someone capable of defeating him perish would be a complete reversal of his viewpoint. Ikuma is the stronger being, therefore Ikuma DESERVES to live. I would argue this is less him growing a heart, and more him holding true to his beliefs even in his dying moments in dealing with the one who killed him. It is not redemption, its consistency of character, he didn't grow a heart, he followed his heart right to his dying moment.
"So you found a coward.", Biba told Ikoma this before he got blasted by his steam gun. Prior to their fight, when they spotted Ikoma who's on his way to save Mumei, one of Biba's followers opened up a box containing a vial of white and black blood. Biba took the white blood and not the black blood, reason being Biba was too much of a 'coward' to use the black blood on himself unlike Ikoma.
So when Biba failed to stab Ikoma's heart, he shot Ikoma with the white blood to weaken him and would have ultimately ended up killing Ikoma had Mumei not stopped him.

yeah they could have definitely made a fortified quarantine station in front of the disembarking area (like a tectangular area extending out on the tracks ). Trains would stop in there to be inspected while still being protected from the zombies . also if this extra section was there it"s doors would've been a buffers between a nonstoping train and the fortress' main door (possibly preventing this all together by slowing down the train ).

As long as I didn't die in the initial wave of Kabane, I would make sure that I have a basement with supplies where I could hide in the worst case scenario.
If I was someone of status or rich, I'd have aerial vehicles constructed, which could safely keep me away from Kabane. I think that with their level of technology a hot air baloon should no be outside the scope of possibility.
Also while pretty skeptical person in general, so I would make sure to question the actions of Biba on every turn.
If I was someone with exeptionally high status, I'd make sure that trains can only come and go in special situations and all communication happened through some type of bird. And all trains would have to inform the cities of their arrival before hand.
Some could even live their lives on boats in waters that are known to be calm.
Also there would be high amounts of research into air vehicles.
Kabaneri themselves would be heavily researched and medicine being advanced in response to this threat.
Cities would be build for self-sustenance in mind and the population index monitored heavily to make sure it doesn't grow too much.

Kabaneri was intresting. I felt it was trying but sadly it came out at a time when attack on titan was at it's highest hype and many reviews i saw claimed it was just riding on it's back. While also being quite generic in the terms of it's story. Guy gets power.. Gets treated like monster.. prove himself to not be monster.. Saves the girl.. and the guy everyone did not think to be the bad guy was the obvious bad guy. Now this is simple version not giving credit to allot of the good stuff but you know what i mean if you saw all episodes.
I feel it's sad cause the premise to me at least feel way more interesting then Attack on titan the whole train moving around system with an enemy that sorta resembles zombies but has so much potential to evolve in to new sort of threats. While also grasping hard to it's steampunk roots.

It is literally inspired by it. It would not exist without Attack on Titan. It's made by the same studio, by the same director, with the same producer, the same music composer, they've got similar plots, similar steampunk post apocalyptic settings, similar protagonists, plus Kabaneri was made during the AoT hiatus when WIT was most incentivised to replicate the success of AoT with another product to keep the heavy cash flowing in, and it does not have the excuse of having a manga existing beforehand to justify it as anything other than an AoT inspired anime.
It *was* riding off its back. That's not just a "claim", it's as close to objective fact as you can get.
The story itself doesn't even pretend like that's not what it's doing, so I don't know how you could be so delusional as to convince yourself otherwise. It wouldn't be so ridiculously and shamelessly similar to AoT if it was. It knows what it is, and doesn't try to hide it. It's literally looking you in the eye and saying "Oh, you liked Attack on Titan? Then boy have I got a story for you".

If it were me designing the train road I would have made sure that the bridge has a two way road, one leading to a drop to the lake, and the other with a draw bridge.
This would force any train to slow down and halt if they don't want to be derailed into the lake.
just build the train around the city instead of allowing it inside. We can have multiple tracks around the city in case 2 or more trains arrive. We can manage trade, quarantine and even kabanes that way. If a train is overrun by kabanes just let it pass, it won't stop and just keep on running
One of the best anime out there. It has very similar vibes to Attack on Titan. I recommend you guys to watch it. Trust me, it was worth it👌🏼

I loved this anime.
Great story and animation.
The start of the anime was soo entertaining and interesting but then the rest felt like it became more bland to me.
The start focuses on alot of things.
Defending the train
Evacuation
Keeping people under control
Whole town panicking and stressing
Alot of tension and it keeps my on my feet
After episode 1-2 basically this is the summary uptill episode 6
Mumei does something annoying and bad
Everyone distrusts them.
Ikuma tries to fix it.
Repeat till half way through the anime.
After halfway through the anime we get to see the big bad guy.
Mumei keeps at her routine of screwing things up.
And then at the end ikuma beats the bad guy and saves mumei once again.
Basically it turned from a tension filled stressful post apocalyptic anime into a quite generic shounen in the end.
Its as if they began valuing the apocalyptic aspect less and less the further in you watch.
the music and pacing is very good but the side characters dont get quite enough fleshing out.
I binged it and it is definitely has a better start then most anime.
If you like drama/physiological/steampunk anime then you can give it a go.
Just watching it for the music and animation is fine too cause its great.
Also solid snake is in it.
