And considering Myles warming up for 70 minutes, their shows tend to "only" last about 1,5 hours. Because all of their songs are so going through the registers (that's right, saying "singing high" is simply nonsense) and through time it's really fatiguing for the vocal folds. Even when you're singing with full technique.
The fact that this song was not on the base album is honestly shocking. This is so much better than like 95% of the songs that get cut from albums by other bands
I get why they left it off though. Fortress had some very dark themes. Pain, brokenness, destruction, desperation, exile, apocalyptic references, just to name a few. Even the feelgood song that did make the album, All Ends Well, has a central theme of desolation. Outright, as great as it was, wouldn't have fit on an album all about darkness. Having said that, it would have been great if AB released it as an official bonus track and not just a promotional bonus track.

Sounds a little like Mayfield Four. That was another great band that should have been huge. Love this album so much. May be my favorite AB album thus far. They never disappoint!!
This is just my opinion. It is a great song, and no doubt about that. This is their jumpy and cheerful song in the album, while the entite album is heavy, minor, and classical sounding.

After such a heavy album that is Fortress, which I love and can't stop listen to it regularly, I'd like to get a catchier rocker album for the next one (something like blackbird --> Rise Today, Open your eyes, Watch over you)
I think it didn't because its too uplifting (doesn't fit the tone of the album), although all ends well is uplifting, it's has a slightly darker tone throughout the song and isn't as upbeat as this one. Despite the fact that I love almost EVERY alter bridge song in existence, i totally agree with having a catchier rock album next time round!! I only recently joined the AB bandwagon at this year's download festival but I'm soooo excited for the years to come!!

I always find that with most albums I listen to, especially ones that become favourites of mine, the first couple of listens I think "this is cool...but." or I might even dislike it. Once I have listened a few times I'm like "I get it now" and get absolutely obsessed like you wouldn't believe. As far as this album goes I thought it was cool right from the get go, but initially I preferred ABIII. But now I love this album.

Like Mark and Myles said in an interview i watched this is the uplifting song in the album and that every album had one like this.Also AEW is a melodic song not that hard and fast but it's pretty awesome however thats just my opinion on hte other hand this song rocks also
As incredible as this is, I loved "All Ends Well" It's one of my favorites. The words and rhythm of the verses are what drew me in and hooked me. The chorus is nice, but it's Myles's delivery of the chorus that makes it really special. Like it's been recommended to you already, just keep listening to it!
I feel robbed, owning this and all other albums and yet I'd not even heard of this until now. Hate this buy here and you get an exclusive this, that... Just release a cd with all the songs on it and if the shop wants to offer incentives let it be in the form of merchendise not missing off songs.

This must be a re-record where they think they had all the kinks worked out, but since it was written then it probably didn't have the same mindset going into Fortress as all of the other songs were, therefore it is a "bonus track."
