No AI for me! Thanks for standing up for human creativity.

I have the Old Style Tarot, Curious Travels and Universal Folk Tarot, which I absolutely love all three. Unfortunately, I put the Universal Folk Tarot away and never really worked with it though I liked it. I was too busy buying other Tarot decks to really appreciate the ones that I already had. After watching this video, I pulled out the Universal Folk Tarot and started to work with it and I am so glad I did, thanks to you! It reads really well and is so beautiful. Thanks again for this video, it really helped me. BTW, I plan on purchasing the Sortilegium Tarot, it looks wonderful.

I don't really buy decks anymore I'm a little bit selective because I've been reading for over a decade but I've started to watch Deck reviews deck walkthroughs and people's favorite Deck videos frequently like I did in the beginning of my practice and in hindsight these are like free little mini tarot workshops and a lot of what I learned about tarot I learned from watching People's first impression videos and people's favorite Deck videos learning what people learn loved about their home decks and their creations taught me so much about tarot when I was in the broom closet

Thank you so much for pointing out the AI elements in the When Women Had Wings Tarot, I didn't realize AI was used in this deck! It's no longer on my wishlist. I also agree about the knights, big disappointment there as well. The Curious Travels Tarot is beautiful and interesting, I'd love to buy that one at some point 🖤.

Definitely need to keep my eye out for the Universal Folk Tarot. I felt a connection to it just seeing it in the video!

Thank you for that lovely review. I appreciate your honesty and thorough explanation of the size, feel, design, overall energy of the artwork and the guidebook. I can't wait to check out some of your other videos.

Definitely gonna get that old style tarot deck! The artwork is so beautiful! I get what you mean about the inclusivity of a deck topic ( or at least I think I do) . I don’t mind when deck collectors are showing off a deck and mention real quick about how inclusive the deck is- but when you start bashing the artists/ authors for not being inclusive in a deck - yet they have done other works with inclusiveness - it just comes off as toxic positive politically correct syndrome to me. Hope this made sense…

I wasn't going to buy the Universal Folk Tarot, because I have and enjoy Anita's Universal Folk Oracle. But the amount of information in the card details, and the fact that she describes the meaning of these details, makes me put it back on my wish list. The Oracle pairs well with many Tarot decks, and I suspect it would fit with this tarot by the same artist.

The last deck, the folk deck, I don’t think I would be able to read with it. Would take days to get through a spread! Would be so caught up in the details in the cards. 😂 Would have to stick to one card draws, and get up an hour earlier. 😊

I just got the W.I.T.C.H. Oracle deck by Angi Sullins and the feeling I've gotten from it is gorgeous.

Thank you so much for calling out the AI. As an artist, I refuse to even call it art. AI manipulation, AI prompting, AI theft….. but never art!

41:04 the Woodland Fairy Tale Tarot is so wonderful. I loved using it!
49:13 I have the universal folk oracle but not the tarot 😮

AI art is stolen art. For a professional product, let’s have real artists please. Tarot is the story of being human, let’s have artwork made by humans

I really love the When Woman Had wings deck. I personally like the inclusivity and I'm ok with artists using AI. I get the concerns. It's a fine line we all have to walk as creators. Maybe it's the Gemini in me I have hopped on pretty much every new tech as soon as it shows up. The cost point for the deck is high though, I'll wait for a sale. Thanks for the review!

I really liked it too, I'm still developing my stance on AI art work but I'm def more comfortable knowing that this isn't just straight up AI image prompts a human did work along side it and create something cohesive and beautiful. I agree the price is a bit steep for what it is.

Omg I so agree about how you have to her get the Sortilegium Tarot in your hands. That thing reads people with the energy and color of the ladies in a salon 😂 and I love working with it. I love the size of the cards, love the backs. It’s definitely a standout in my collection this year. 😍

Yes totally tired of trying to force every deck to fit a certain formula to not get “cancelled” yet not having non white decks to also have inclusion in them. If this is being emphasized then do it across the board. That’s the tea….. It’s like forcing all stores to be the same…everything gets homogenized and looses its flavor. I don’t want to see whites in an African based deck anymore than I wanna see melanated people in a Slavic or Norse deck. It’s ok for decks NOT to be “inclusive” when said people on either side were not involved in that history or culture outside of a few possible occurrences. Of course I’m not talking about a basic deck…..just historically or culturally based decks.

I understand your point, but I do want to remind everyone that historic cultures were a lot more diverse than we think. Most of what we know about the Viking Age comes from Arabs having visited them and lived among them, for instance. From uninformed media representations we have a very skewed idea of history and treat groups of people as if they just existed in little corners of the world, when in fact, they mingled (in some ways, a lot more than we do today in some places)! Just something to think about...

From this selection Old Style Tarot made it to my wish list. I'm still not sure about the Woodland Fairy Tale Tarot, it's close, maybe it's just the modern art style of bodies and faces that's just not my thing. Dunno how I feel about just one fairy tale per suit, if I'd rather every card was an different fairy tale or just one fairy tale as the theme of the whole deck. It seems odd to have a different fairy tale for each major arcana card then the suits having multiple cards, each suit only 1 fairy tale, 4 fairy tales for the minor arcana. I don't understand why, the reasoning behind it, like it give fomo vibes on the minor arcana like I'm missing out on a lot of other fairy tale stories, or it's not focused enough as an overall deck and want to expand one of the minor arcana fairy tales into a whole deck each. Some of the Universal Folk Tarot cards are nice but others the eyes make the characters feel miserable and too many cards with hair down covering their face and eyes feels annoying.

I would say have a look at Tarot of the Cosmic Seed it has same vibes as When Women had Wings but style wise is more Muse Tarot collage style. No AI at all can’t stand AI for profit

The standouts for my taste, Curious Travelers Tarot and the Universal Folk Tarot, I'd take those big-ass borders right off, corner round it - and make it a shorter version. I don't even think you'd have to mark it... that artwork 🤌

Question: have you read Tamara Pierce? I’m trying to get a fan designed Tortall Tarot off the ground, but I’m new to Tarot and not an artist, so I’m looking for others who might want
R to be involved. I know you’re incredibly busy, but if you know anyone else who might want to help I’d appreciate that’d be great too.

I'm Asian, never noticed skin color in a tarot deck until creators started being "inclusive". Sick and tired of it. I actually can appreciate a deck that only has fair-skinned characters so I don't get distracted.

I don't think they thought about it to be honest. I love supporting US Games, they're very generous, I'm just not sure they know either. Like, I'm not sure there is someone in their office looking at things like that.

I won’t buy a deck that uses AI artwork. The only way to train AI or for the programs to generate the art is by stealing art from human artists. I’d rather see an actual artist make the art for the deck and be paid for it. AI artwork is just corporate greed.

No im not tired of hearing about inclusivity, tarot decks should be inclusive imo, tarot is supposed to represent everyone, not just 1 body type, skin colour.
