    I got the 32" G7 based on your recommendation and really like it. I was a bit afraid of the curve but I like it now. The only minor nitpick I have is that it curves more in the center and then flattens out towards the edges. This makes it so that the center 50% of the screen or so is just about perfectly normal or 90 degrees to my vision which makes it perfect, but then the last few inches on the left and right edges are not perpendicular to my vision and are angled away a little bit which is not ideal since you get the best picture when the screen is directly facing you. I would have preferred the new G5 34" ultrawide format but for now the G7 is a huge improvement over my old 27" TN.

    • @jgvtc559
      @jgvtc559 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Would sitting back just a inch or so further make it less noticeable

    • @El_Chompo
      @El_Chompo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jgvtc559 It's not really noticeable when gaming FPS with it, which is what I got it for.
      I realized that the reason for the different radius at the center and sides is to offer a compromise so that you can use the monitor at a very close distance like a lot of FPS gamers prefer, or from a farther distance like a normal desktop user when you are just chilling around working on documents or whatever.
      So because of this range you can use it either way and it's really nice. It's such a huge improvement over my last small flat panels.
      If the monitor had a constant curvature then it would be ideal for immersive games like FPS or any first person games like racing. But I also realized that modern games field of view is made for flat panels. So curved ones, although they fill your vision better, and provide a more direct viewing angle for better quality of image, have the downside of nobody programming field of view into account for them. So the way that things stretch and distort on the edges of your vision happens at a different rate depending on how curved your screen is.
      The logical conclusion really I think is when VR goggles get good enough that you have as good or better pixel density, response time, refresh rate, color reproduction etc, as the best gaming monitors today. Because having a monitor that was a constant curve that filled your whole vision would be huge and expensive in comparison you would think, plus inconvenient with how much room it fills up in your house.

I also have Dell 27 S2721DS as my second monitor which also has great colors but overall I preffer the G5. I don't play competitive shooters so I cannot comment on ultra fast response time.

    Yes please test the asus tuf gaming vg34vql1b I just got it and if you turn it down to 120hz it shows up as 12bit 144hz 10bit 165hz 8bit. If you use adaptive sync it will flicker in some games so I run enhanced sync as it doesn't flicker and is still smooth so far. I'd like it to see you guys review it but I've had several so far and this asus is the best one so far. I've sent all other va panels back so far for smearing so far so good with this one. I've had every va and ips 21:9 500usd monitor microcenter near me has this is the best one so far. Even had the dell 16:9 with the nano ips lg panel in it with blue back light. That was the smoothest monitor I've seen. Just don't like 16:9 I would like a 32:10 with a 109ppi while still having a total pixel amount around the same as a 3440x1440 monitor. Pipe dream I know.

    This samsung oddessy g5 LC27G55TQWWXXL
    Lg ultragear 27gn750
    Samsung qled LC27FG73FQWXXL
    Acer nitro vg271u
    I ended up going with acer due to it being ips as compared to the va in the oddessy and the 1080p lg and the qled is an unknown for me
    So it's great beast
    1440p 144hz upto 170hz
    1ms ips HDR (400 is useless TBH)
    It's the same panel as the aorus ad27qd made by innolux so the colour gamut is pretty wide and it has back light strobing (Haven't used it yet ) runs full resolution and refresh through hdmi 2.0 cable as well which I am using
    The Biggest negative is the stand is just a piece of garbage
    It wobbles so much I feel the Monitor will fall
    Plus it has not tilt or height adjust and no swivel too

    I'm using a 32" G7 (with a 1000R curve). I don't know why Tim couldn't get used to it, and I don't really understand all of the hate it's getting from some people for that curve. I was actually quite worried that I wouldn't like the curve as well, but I wanted to try it out to see if I liked it. I was thinking that I would probably return it, but I got used to it really quickly. I never find the curve to be a problem. It's just less than ideal if you want to watch something on the monitor with multiple people, so if you want your monitor to double as a TV for watching movies with one or two friends, this is probably not the best choice. Black uniformity is also not great, but I find that I only notice it when the entire screen is black, and it really doesn't bother me.
    I find that I prefer curved monitors to flat monitors now.
    It's been great for working with documents, browsing the web, watching videos, or playing games.

    The lg 27gn800 is the fastest 144hz monitor on RTINGS
    It would be great to see what the 1080p version (27gn600) series
    PERFORMS LIKE FOR PS5 120hz mode. 27gn800 = 1440p / 27gn600 = 1080p.
    27gn800 = 1440p
    27gn600 = 1080p.

    Bought the 27in version for 280$ which was a steal considering that the closest thing was the gigabyte G27 for 350$.
    Coming from someone who used a washed out 60hz TN for 10 years;the colors look nice and I see no black smearing. My unit has a bit of backlight bleeding on the bottom so I didn't win the panel lottery but it's not something that bothers me. There are 0 burned pixels aswell.
    The biggest issue is the stand which is tolarable.
    If you're like me who has been playing on an old monitor you'll have no complaints with this monitor.

  • @xedwyn6244
    @xedwyn6244 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I don't get why this is getting slammed. Compared to the Xiaomi and AOC (similar price point in Australia anyway) it's more responsive, less dark smearing and has better colour performance. I get that it's expensive in the US currently but for Aussies and other markets for 150AUD extra I reckon it's at least worth a look if you care about those things.

    One thing to consider and what is my main consern when shopping for a new panel is how the monitor brand handles "dead/white pixels". In my experience samsung is usually relatively chill to deal with if you get a monitor with dead pixels compared to others even thou they don't define it clearly 8 i mostly had higer end displays.
    What is so frustrating thou is that a lot of brands seems to try to kinda hide their "dead/white pixel" policy.

    • @progenji6407

      Yes. This 100%, Asus will literally just not even reply if you get a monitor with 10+ dead pixels. For me BenQ has been the best, no one, not me or my friends has had even had one yet, but we decided to ask customer service wether it was warranty and lo and behold it was. Dead pixels are so fuckking annoying

      HDR support is a joke or a blatant lie for most of the monitors. More than that, having a reliable sRGB panel is often better for most of contents than a wide-gamut panel clamped.

    Continuing the trend of affordable 34' 3440X1440p high refresh monitors, I would like to see a review on the "iiyama g-master gb3461wqsu-b1". It is affordable being under £400 and instead of the usual curved VA panels, it is a flat IPS panel which is unseen for it's price range.
    Thanks!

    • @jkutyna
      @jkutyna 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why would anyone want an ancient IPS monitor reviewed? It's hot garbage, that's all you need to know about 1970's display technology when VA is out there as a superior option.

    • @jiajieguo7322
      @jiajieguo7322 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jkutyna I mean, I don't get your point. You know that IPS has clear advantages over VA. Such as Color accuracy, faster response times (the large majority of times) And doesn't suffer from black level smearing like a VA does. IPS also has better viewing angles. The newest VA panels from Samsung are up there with the best of IPS panels for sure. But when talking about this specific monitor, I mentioned how for around the same price as the VA curved panels on ultrawides , the iiyama monitor was a flat IPS which is unseen at the same price point since IPS panels are generally more expensive than VA panels.
      I was also talking about the iiyama monitor specifically and your argument is about different panel technologies. Some people prefer VA over IPS and that's fine, they have great contrast which might be your preference. Either way chill out dood.
