@captainbly200 Sort of a cross between a NYC subway and the Chicago "L" Train, but fully automated. Except for three underground stations in downtown Vancouver, it's all at or above ground level.
if u were only going to 29th station, it doesnt matter which train u take, they will all go past 29th all the way to columbia. each new color is a new version of train - grey are the newest, ones (the two newest trains are the most comfy, with a/c and quieter smoother rides) @pman1018 the chime HAS been sampled for two songs that know of - if u do a search for skytrain song or skytrain music u can find it
If you think this is bad on September 13th 2016 most of the expo line was shut down due to a maintenance error and so in most stations it was jam packed even the buses. In one case probably 100-300 people had to line up for a SINGLE bus!
At least Toronto has one that is being built. Here in Montreal, everybody talks about how it's a "excellent idea", "efficient", "interesting" but nobody invests it.
This really wasn't very representative of how crowded the trains got during the Olympics. In the morning, people were packed in like sardines, and the trains were twice as long as normal and running twice as often.
TransLink does settle on one colour scheme. They are in the process of repainting some of our older mark 1 trains to match the new mark 2/mark 3 trains.
New York's subway often has similar crowds to this
So frequent too
So are Toronto's, Montréal's, Chicago's L, and many more I'm sure, Van is just kind of spoilled with a really nice transit system.

Awesome metro system!
What time were you on the system here? Just curious!
Skytrain 2002 is new.

It's obvious that a Bus Bridge isn't as good as SkyTrain.

Who’s weirded out by the old signage now that we have these new wayfinding signs and icons?
in singapore,1 train comes only in 6 min intervers. sorry for the bad spelling as i am a singaporean
Enjoy your stay!
Usually packed like this on my way to Downtown!! (Mornings though)
ive seen it way more crowded than that
It's this crowded during rush hour every business day!
In Montreal too.
They were supposed to be running every 2 minutes but then maybe because of delays or something the next train arrived in 60 seconds.
Vancouver is the world's 3rd happiest place :)
This is actually a little light for weekday rush at key stations. Olympic rush was way, way worse than this.

Great system. I just really wish they'd settle on *one* colour scheme. :)

I world hate being stuck in the crowed standing up and all of us holding on to one poll.

New York's subway often has similar crowds to this.
4:49 guy smokes weed for sure lol
That's hardly even crowded. I'm surprised you call that crowded. For some crowded metros, try looking at Tokyo, Beijing, or Delhi.

leafyutube... in Japan they have trains that are almost ready to take off to the moon! watch?v=sts25IzK0Xk
