motorcycling is a fantastic hobby or pastime. and a great form of transport.should be encouraged more, and not treated like a stigma by people who have never tried it.

James on a largely private Honda beat Toy Bayliss on a factory Ducati to win his second WSBK championship.
Arguably the most deserving champion ever IMO.

Fair play…Jamie and his lovely wife Katie brought my son Zakk an Easter egg on ward 6 at Sheffield Childrens Hospital whilst he was in on chemotherapy and sat down for a chat too. Was visibly moved and upset when he saw what these kids have to endure but he remained human and supportive throughout so thanks for that.

"E2fuel has been used in racing for many years. It's basically alcohol. Alcohol has been uised in Indy-cars since the end of WW2. It has a great advantage in that fires can be put out with water but the flames are invisible. ie. you know you are on fire but nobody can see you are! The other downside is that it rots certain types of rubber that older cars/bikes have as seals and fuel lines. Also it is not as calorific as petrol and you need more of it to unleash the same power. You'll use more E10 fuel than E5 to go the same distance at the same speed. As for World Superbike Champions The North of England has had it's fair share of corkers .... from Carl Fogarty, throughNeil Hodgson, and james Toseland to Tom Sykes .... every one a gentleman and a genuinely brave sportsman who flew the flag for England.

Basically the answer was that brexit was a bad idea and the restrictions the EU put on us are because they can.. it had absolutely nothing to do with Westminster! Why would the EU give us a sweet deal? That would just encourage other countries to leave, they were always going to ensure we got the shitty end of the stick

@ 5:15 the UK is not a biker friendly nation, I'm speaking from experience as an ex racer and road rider. Some people will try and kill you and I'm not joking. The Govt gave bikers a bad name back in the 60's and 70's with the ton up boys and the mods and rockers, since then there has always been a stigma with motorcyclists in the UK. When we were smashing MOTO GP and WSB only a few yrs or so ago, there was hardly a mention of our success on the news or in the papers. As a nation we are amongst the fastest and best racers on the planet. As a nation we would rather support football which costs the taxpayer 1000's per match and as a nation we never recovered from the football hooliganism label we gained the 90's/2000's. As a nation we are now a laughing stock to the rest of the world.

Well done James for putting Nigel on the spot regarding the inability to freely tour Europe in the aftermath of Brexit... 6:43 .
I was waiting for Nigel to respond in his usual way when confronted... "It's not the Brexit we voted for", but he managed to avoid saying that this time!
    He resorted instead to saying it's "bloody-mindedness" ... 7:30 .
Thereafter, Nigel was totally unable to respond helpfully and honestly to James's very pertinent and reasonable points, and eventually resorted to guffawing with laughter in order to cover his embarrassment and bring the interview to a close.
I'm afraid that Nigel uses these tactics quite often these days in an effort to conceal his inability to answer very fair but awkward Brexit questions.
Good for you, James, for highlighting your very real concerns on behalf of the music industry.

Nigel doesn't make the rules. There is no good reason for making musician's travel difficult, other than 'teaching us a lesson for leaving'.
They may well become more reasonable over time, but either way, it's not worth compromising your democracy for.

@@MrBottomrung - Yeah, but this is only a small example, isn't it!
So many other people and businesses are suffering from not being able to trade freely any more with the European Union, and move freely across EU borders.
I admired James for having the guts to confront Nigel on this matter concerning the music industry, albeit very politely, on live television.
This is only my viewpoint. I do understand that others have opposing views which of course they are quite entitled to.

The problem with the EU is it's a dictatorship and if you cross it, they will act like all dictatorships do by imposing strict penalties. However, we should never submit to a bully especially as our forefathers fought to preserve our Sovereignty which is worth far more than unrestricted travel in the EU. Yet, as was stated, these restrictions are not even EU wide. Spain hasn't introduced them and all we need is a commited MP to negotiate with individual countries and these restrictions would soon crumble, all we need is the will. Though as Nigel, said the government has a poor record on this, just look at our fishing industry and the NI protocol, both the result of poor UK negotiations.

Absolutely… I have 6 classic Superbikes and can’t stand the thought of soulless electric bikes.. Our government are so pro carbon zero (cos vote winning innit), that even motorcycling as a pastime is being looked at like a criminal offence! I do less than 600 miles a year with my bikes.. just owning them is a pleasure. But how much CO2 does that contribute compared to the millions of tons China for example are still pumping into the air without a care?!
