They haven't released an album in 8 years. The world needs a new Turisas album.

I saw them live in 2019, still waiting for another album. They are a great live band.
I heard through the grapevine that a new album would be dropping sooner rather than later

Turisas is one of the "Big Five" of Folk metal, along with Moonsorrow, Ensiferum, Finntroll and Korpiklaani. All bands founded in Finland in the 90's who basically birthed Folk Metal as a genre and made it popular.
My hometown band! You should check their The Varangian Way album, especially To Holmgard and Beyond!

Holmgard and beyond is a good one by Turisas
One great thing last year brought was Folk Metal Big 5 book which contained stories of "five original finnish Folk Metal bands, Ensiferum, Moonsorrow, Finntroll, Turisas and Korpiklaani". Those have since gain their place in my playlists. Too bad the book ain't translated yet, shout-out to Markus Laakso to get translator working! He has also made book from Amophis (2015), but afaik it ain't translated either.
Yes Finnish invasion of this channel would be nice.

This was a pleasant surprise this morning. When I first started getting into "modern metal" a few years back (thanks in no small part to your channel), this was one of the songs I discovered early on, and it's been on my favorites playlist ever since. Such a solid anthem-type song and a great way to start the day. Thanks!

They inspired me through one of the absolute lowest points of my life, where the only thing stopping me from ending it all was literally just the inability to afford the bottle of pills. 10 years on, it still inspires me to "Stand Up and Fight!" whenever I'm feeling low.
Early nineties only two bands did a viollin, My dying bride and Skyclad and a little later Celestial season.
What a surprise ! This song has been one of my all time favorites for many many years.
This is a great album. Fear the Fear is my favorite track, highly recommend it. Could we get some more Oomph or even a Vision of Disorder react?

For me personally, Moonsorrow stands on the top of the list of Finnish metal bands. Next would be Stam1na and Azaghal.

Folk Metal is just something so great. I love it. I want to see you guys react to a brand new Finnish Folk Metal band called Folkrim. They released their debut album last month. Check out a song called "Drunkover" you will like it.

I really recommend checking out their first album Battle Metal... In my opinion the best folk metal album ever done. Although it works best listening to it as whole from beginning to end, you can pick basically any song from that album and won't be disappointet :)

The requested band is _Stone_ , the pioneers of Finnish thrash metal from the '80s and the lively rocking craddle of _Roope Latvala_ , a formidable Finnish metal guitar legend known from such bands as Stone, Latvala Brothers, Waltari, Children of Bodom, Sinergy...
Imho, Roope's style is well audible in most of the Children of Bodom's songs, mainly as riffs and harmonies - more than most people tend to give him credit for. No doubt that Aleksi Laiho grew studying among others Roope's works from the _Stone_ age and on. Unlike Aleksi's, Roope's chair still rocks without excessive haunting. Please forgive all this stiff Finnglish.
Between the rock and the hard place, or Jesus and Lou Gehrig, I'd say _molempi parempi_ - preferably both.
