Every episode they manage to make me hate Greg more while also making him one of my most favorite television characters ever. And one of my favorite Tom and Greg moments is still to come.
18:47 exactly Aaron , i think when Shiv said “i dont like you , i dont even care about you” that is such a lie you can see it on her face how much it hurts her to say it
I always chuckle at Matsson in the back when Connor says there’s only one person who believes in him, meaning Willa, but Matsson points to himself in the background. It’s all the little details that make this show so rich.
Aaron: "I hate the idea of news and media working with politicians and not just reporting on politicians." Oh boy, next episode is gonna be BAD. Can't wait!
19:29 Yeah I feel like the way Tom slowed down and was nervous to say it, but said it any way made me feel like he truly believes Shiv would be a bad mother.
And from Shiv’s perspective the painful part probably isn’t even the explicit “you would make a bad mother” (even though she’s actively pregnant in that moment and STILL hasn’t told Tom), but rather the implication that she naturally jumps; That she is just like HER mother, who was also too emotionally distant and stunted to parent her children properly. Which is one of the biggest things Shiv has consistently not wanted to be.
@@Wolf6119 It's great because her mother actually gets some perspective and says "I should've had dogs, not kids." then immediately Shiv goes to have sex with Tom and ends up pregnant. She only had a child because she was mad at her mother and absolutely will end up being just another shitty mother: a rich kept-woman just like her own mom.
None of the siblings are capable of having healthy relationships (Kendall is basically an absent father) but Tom really did want the status of marrying a Roy so he gets all that comes with it (that's on him). Anyways, the Shiv/Tom fight was one of the best scenes in the series. Sometimes in super emotional scenes, less capable non-American actors will let their accents slip but Sarah Snook and Matthew Macfadyen nailed it.
Just an update on how close this show is to the Murdoch's. Succession was mentioned in the legal dispute over who gets control of the media empire when Murdoch dies. "In sealed testimony delivered in Reno, Nevada, in September, Murdoch and his four eldest children-Lachlan, James, Elisabeth, and Prudence-discussed how the episode spurred a flurry of private conversations. According to court documents obtained by The New York Times, the children began devising a public-relations strategy for their father’s eventual death after watching the fictional portrayal of chaos erupting within Logan Roy’s media dynasty. The episode inspired Elisabeth Murdoch’s representative to the family trust, Mark Devereux, to write a “‘Succession’ memo.” The document, aimed at avoiding a real-life parallel to the show’s turmoil, marked the beginning of what would become a deeply contentious family feud." - The Independent
A fancy, NYC place like that probably charges a ton for that continental breakfast and no one touched the food. Geez. Take a pastry and a dansih to go I hate it when people waste food in this show. Not finishing food I understand but not even touching it is just insane to me.

man that argument between Tom and Shiv is so fucking cathartic after 4 seasons of this
This is exactly what I was thinking. It's the most cathartic scene in this show for me
Sure is and they deserved every award for this scene alone. So uncomfortably real to watch.
probably my favorite moment in the show. i’ve been waiting for this reaction since they started.

The Shiv-Tom fight is the peak of all television.

And that scene between Tom and Shiv is probably where they won their Emmy

Gonna hit extra hard now
I am both looking forward to next week and absolutely not looking forward to it at all
@@JenLight I'm catching up with their reactions and feel similarly as you do with the next episode.
I still can't wrap my head around the next episode.
The news could say that JFK was re-elected but it wouldn't make it true.

@@Wolf6119 that could describe either parent 😆 although Logan was more emotionally manipulative, but also distant when he wasn’t doing the former

Say what you want about Connor - his presence makes me smile. Alan Ruck is so great in that role.

Next episodes reaction is gonna be crazy i cant wait
18:26 this is the show
I have been waiting for their reaction to the Tom Shiv balcony scene ever since we started season 3.
long discussion :) i love that they love this show
Next episode is like a thriller movie lowkey the best episode is the series
I hate Tom, love watching the performance, but he had the best line with “you’re too transparent to find in a book.” That one just hits
I hate Tom, too. But I hate Shiv so much more lol
When Eric said “I had pony”, as someone who’s favorite comedy is Seinfeld, I see what you’re doing…
LOVE THE DEAL
12:34 The only correct way to talk to Gregs of the world, god, I hate this nasty weasel so much, human-tapeworm
