@@Sweet..bl00mbro what, you’re the wrong One because how tf is leaving a cat in the middle of nowhere with no food or water okay??? Like where is the logic??
@Sweet..bl00m No... she definitely could have taken Dawn to a shelter if she couldn't care for her. The shelter didn't abuse her, a previous home did, as evidence by lines Jay either misinterpreted or missed completely, such as the cat noting there were no bottles in the backyard trashcan and calling it a good sign (implying her previous owner was likely a violent drunk), and referencing an "Uncle Larry" who "taught a lesson" to not sleep in a washer, a lesson he never had to teach again (I assume by turning it on with the cat inside). And even if the shelter was abusive or a kill shelter, if you can drive to the middle of nowhere to dump your cat, you can drive to another rescue that would take the cat and treat him or her better instead. Never discard a house pet out in the wild like that no matter what species or circumstance- they may be an animal, but they don't belong on the streets. Even wild animals can't always be released back to their habitat because they rely too much on humans after time in captivity and wouldn't be able to survive without the human help, so how can you expect a domestic house cat to survive and thrive?
It pisses me off that she said she KNEW you were the cat from the shelter. Like, wtf!? Don't adopt animals if you know you can't take care of them!! Anyway, I'm glad it all worked out for the cats. They were so cute!
Most likely because she couldn't take care of both cats at the same time due to her illness. And Mae would try to kick them out again instead of putting them in the shelter Also remember she adopted the cat so dawn can pretend to be the cat that she lost
Any cat owner can tell immediately that Olive is not a good cat owner. Everything about how she initially handled Dawn coming into the house is what NOT to do with a new cat, especially an older one.
Exactly. Even from the very beginning (with the frequent coughing and stubbornness towards the shelter worker), we can tell she's sick. And not to mention, we can clearly tell she's elderly as well. Furthermore, the shelter worker even said "Weren't you here earlier about a missing cat?" - the motive was paved out in black ink. From what I could see, there was barely any cat apparatus around the house, was there even a cat bed? There was the 1 toy she played with, and a cat bowl. She evidently had no idea how to properly take care of a cat. Or any animal. I question what life was like for the previous Dawn. Just so... Irresponsible and cruel.

@@alexx4843 Do they go outdoors or are they considered an indoor cat? Plus have you any scratching posts or areas where your cat sharpens their claws? And my point regarding that was she didn't seem prepared to take on a cat, nor make domestic changes to provide for one. Plus with her having the first Dawn, you'd expect there would be something but the only thing we see is that feather and the food. But then they get mad at the poor cat for making a mess, when precautions weren't made to prevent the mess in the first place.
@@ashthepotato3172 no i agree with you on that, my cat is indoors since unfortunately when i got her she was declawed so she doesn't go outside, though i do let her but she doesn't like it. so she has no scratching posts but she uses boxes that are laying around lol
Please, please, PLEASE let this be a lesson to everyone to NEVER drop off, or dump, your pets in the middle of nowhere. Based on the trees and fence it can be assumed that Olive dumped Dawn off at a farm. People do this in real life, the idea is the cat will find the barn and eat the mice, giving it a good home, but that's not true! I live on a farm, and we get stray cats all the time. Last year 2 girls and a boy cat were dumped at different times, now the girls have kittens and one of those kittens grew up and had kittens of her own. (They are all fixed now, and one of the new kittens is watching this with me). The cats who already lived here had the mice cleaned up, so the strays had nothing except for what we gave them. And although we don't know where this game takes place, it looks like a forested area, and in that forest coyotes, wolfs, hawks, owls and other wild animals could live there, all of which would love to eat a cat like Dawn. Dawn and the cats we found have a good life now, but not all cats get that happy ending! The main reason these cats survivied is becasue I love cats more than anything, but not all people who live on farms feel the same way. Olive should've given Dawn to a friend, asked Mae to help find her a home, or took her back to the shelter. It's not admitting defeat to take a pet back, it's admitting that you love the animal enough to ensure they get a good home. Thank you for playing this game Jay, it helps to get the word out there, and it is definetely a message that needs sharing.
Not saying that you're wrong, but playing Devil's Advocate a little, the implication is that Olive has no friends and Mae probably would've just dumped both cats somewhere. Mae couldn't even be trusted to be honest and take Dawn to a shelter for everyone's well-being. This is a feeling I'm familiar with, down to losing a pet due to being in a situation where I'm isolated with a disability and no one to turn to for support in emergencies or just for understanding. It doesn't justify Olive's actions anymore than anything that Mae does is justified, but I think the context matters. Olive firstly should have accepted the "loss" of Dawn and attempted to move on, not just because it was unfair and irresponsible to Sunrise, but also to Dawn. Imagine that Dawn was functionally going through the same things as Sunrise, trying to survive scared on the street, eventually coming home safe to find she's been replaced, and then just days after she gets home she's attacked by her replacement. It's an overall unfair situation on so many levels, including to Olive in some ways...but that just means having to admit you can't handle something no matter how much you want to. I am glad that it looks like being put in a retirement home means that everyone got what they wanted and needed though. Even Mae.
@@DoughChim I understood that perfectly well, and my only point was that the at least two of those solutions were implied to not be there. Which is why I started my comment by pointing out that the original commenter wasn't wrong and ended my reasoning by pointing out that it in no way justified anything that happened. Because being in a situation slightly more limiting than Olive's makes the context feel necessary for me. Returning Sunrise to to shelter was the right thing to do, especially assuming it was a no-kill shelter, and I in no way was saying otherwise. I was also saying that she should have taken the emotionally healthier road of seeking closer for losing Dawn instead of trying to pretend with an identical cat, which she proved she wasn't emotionally sound all through the story. I can understand why the ending was underwhelming for people, but I also can be glad that everyone got what they wanted and needed. And I can hope that the fact that both cats having collars and individual names means that there's now a support system that allows for their proper care.
Same. Had an incident where a box of kittens got run over by farm equipment because no one knew they were there. Please take unwanted pets to a shelter or find someone to adopt them.
Genuinely Olive didnt deserve her cats. I hope they both got adopted by someone good and caring and someone that actually cared about them as individual kitties
My personal ending (the real one) is that the two cats run off together, start adopting strays, and form their own family bc they can’t trust humans anymore
I feel like this game shows how easily it is to become nurtured , loved , and adored only to be easily replaced. This game does show how strays feel , to be loved an love back , only for a moment later they throw you out an you become the same stray that's hurt an can't trust. The amount of stray cats is horrible but people still breed them for the prettiest. Adopt don't shop. ❤
Most of the strays in my neighborhood end up in my yard. I feed them, love them, and take them to the vet when needed. I still love my own cats though, and I make sure they know they’ll never be replaced by the outside cats.
@@saltbabawe that’s so cute❤ I took in a stray cat from when it was a couple months old and it’s still a baby but I love him so much and he’s very clingy😂
She could’ve taken the cat to a shelter. Gave it to a friend. Leave it in the streets if she had to where she could still technically watch over her, but instead she purposefully drove out to the middle of nowhere? Left it with no food or water, or anyone to watch it. Absolutely ridiculous. She didn’t deserve any of her cats.
This is so messed up. There are rescue shelters that will take her. What the actual heck? I understand she's old and struggling, but there are so many better ways. That poor baby.
Mae didn’t do the right thing by kicking the cat out into the wild (if she wanted to get rid of her, she could’ve taken her back to the adoption center), and I hate to agree with her but … the truth is, her mother really shouldn’t adopt a cat if she can’t take care of it (which one could easily make a strong argument that she clearly medically isn’t capable of; the cat was left alone for days and probably would’ve been alone for a week or more if no one found her owner and she died) And was Mae about to suffocate her mother with a pillow?? Wtf?!?
Mae is quite possibly one of the shittiest characters I have seen in gaming. Not due to her writing, but got damn she is a shitty person. She gets it from her mom though. Who is also shitty
I was thinking the same thing, Idfk why everyone keeps on saying it’s olive’s fault when Mae was the one who threw the cat into the wild, she literally said it herself!
I hate when people dump a cat outside instead of finding them a new family. They don’t take responsibility for their actions. Like what Olive did to Dawn was terrible. Just trying to fill in a void. So selfish. I’ve had to give a cat back and i would find them a home, not throw them outside.

In my perspective Olive is not really a cat person/lover she just want accompany, no way you could replaced your cat just because they have similarities. Instead of putting the cat to the cat shelter she literally throw it off somewhere. And to that stink foot lady having two cats yet hate stray cats, danm. The cat's name was Howie and he made headlines in 2018 when he traveled over 1,100 miles from his former home in Florida to his new home in California. The story began when Howie's family moved from Florida to California and were unable to bring him along due to travel logistics. Heartbroken, they left Howie with a neighbor, but Howie had other plans. Over the next eight months, Howie embarked on an incredible journey, traveling across the country on foot and hitchhiking with truck drivers and other travelers. His story was shared widely on social media, and a group of volunteers helped track his progress and coordinate his travel. Finally, after a long and arduous journey, Howie was reunited with his family in California, who were overjoyed to see him. Howie's story is a testament to the incredible bond between pets and their owners, and the lengths that animals will go to be reunited with their loved ones.
That sounds amazing and I'm glad he found his family, but since people knew of this, couldn't they do the cat a giant favor and catch him and take him to his owners? Seems weird and just flat-out not safe to let this small domestic carnivore roam willy nilly like that. I mean, just trap and return, why try and record that and not think of the cats safety?
Family members were obviously not THAT heartbroken if they left the cat in the first place. "Travel logistics", did they leave their children while moving cause of that? No. Same principle should apply to animals people take in. Kinda feeling bad for the cat, giving so much love to those who abandoned him. (Though they at least did not abandon the guy in the middle of nowhere like in the game. Those women should be blacklisted from animal adoption for life.)
this game does a great job of showing how cats are extremely independent and it's in their nature to be mischievous and mess with things, but at the end of the day relationships are extremely important to them. cats value connections. they are one of the sweetest animals I've ever had as a pet & if they love you, they LOVE you & you'll know it.
1:18:20 cat food and dog food have a difference in protein levels! iirc one of them can't break down proteins as well, so to prevent from making them ill, the protein amounts in each blend have to be separate

As someone who loves animals, but is especially fond of cats, I knew this would make me ugly cry, but I'm on the verge of sobbing. When you adopt an animal it is 100% your responsibility to take care of them and if you can't care for them find a no kill shelter or someone who will take them. Domestic cats do not have the same instincts as wild cats. If they depend on you for food and shelter they dont do great at fending for themselves. There are so many animals, cyotes especially , that will hunt cats. My cat was abandoned in a box on a church stoop with her sister and a bag of cat food. I cant imagine how scared she was. I found her sister a home and kept her. Any sympathy I had for Olive is gone, she is as aweful as her daughter and deserves no pets. Cats love just as deeply as dogs, they are complex, but with paitents and understanding they make amazing members of the family.
Wtf olive!!! You can’t just abandoned the cat that YOU got and cared for just bc the original came back… Like at least give the baby a new loving home with a loving family?????? I mean I get being unable to care for two… but you got Sunrise (Dawn 2.0) bc you wanted to replace Dawn! Augh, and Sunrise lingering around home hurts. But maybe that’s bc I have a disabled rescue cat (she used to be stray) But that ending was so painfully cute. Went through hell to get it… but I’m so very happy with it 😭 Ty, Olive for it…

Some facts about cat: Cat cannot drink regular milk cause they're lactose intolerant since they cannot disgest it properly which will cause vommiting, diarrhea, flatulence( or in other word, farting) and adominal pain. Dog food is not toxic to cats but can cause health problems if consumed regularly. Cats require a complete and balanced diet with high-quality proteins, fats, and vitamins tailored to their life stage. Usually when you adopt a cat and bring it to a new environment, find a suitable spot for them where they can hide in or cover the carrier with a blanket so it dark for them cause dark place make them feel safe, is best to just open the carrier and leave them alone to let them come out own their own do not shove your hand in like what Olive did since trust take time to build with cat, especially stray since we do not know what kind of life they had before being ended up in a shelter. Let them explore their new environment own their own and leave them food and water before slow try and gain their trust. Spraying some catnip around the place they be staying at will help as catnip and help them relax. A method to gain their trust is by putting some food on your hand and wait for them to come to you on their own, you can also try slowing inching toward them but stop where you are if you can feel them getting wry or scared by you being closer. This methods with take time and patience but it one of a way I like :) Also fyi I do not own a cat yet since I'm not allowed but I done a lot of research since I hope 1 day I can adopt one(hence the research on how to care for them) or the cat distribution can find me xd Some might incorrect so feel free to correct me😅😅😅
These are all very good tips! As a studying Veterinarian, I can confirm the dog food one. Cats need more protein than dogs and if they have too much of a certain vitamin then it can cause them kidney and bladder problems. Also! When meeting new cats like when you visit a friend's house, it's recommended you be very calm and quiet and let them approach you. When they do, don't immediately scratch or pet them. Instead you can extend one or two fingers out towards their nose and let them sniff. In cat language, this is their equivalent of a handshake :)
Olive pisses me off so bad. I volunteer in cat rescue and this happens SO OFTEN. Please don’t adopt recklessly, cats are abandoned or returned too often.
Yeah. One of the benefits of being a cat person is that overtime cat pee fumes burn away the inside of your nostrils so overtime your sense of smell worsens so you don't smell their poop and pee as much anymore.
This was actually kind of hard to watch, I almost cried. Dawn happens to look exactly like my baby Wednesday. She's one of many strays I've adopted and taken care of. It hurts my heart to think to think of any cat going through this 😢

4:58 Some cats are actually super clingy lol, my cat literally starts crying at night if she isnt near anyone (including the other cats) just mostly depends on the cat
ANOTHER THING I JUST REALIZED i own TWO black cats and i would never get them mixed up since each cat has multiple ways they can look different not just fur color, the face shape, eyes, fur texture, EVERYTHING. THAT OLD LADY IS A HOE
Honestly watching this with me dealing with a living situation made me feel so emotional, currently with needing to find a new place since getting kicked out. This hit a spot but so much kind words of wisdom from Jay made me not feel alone but also having a cat and loving cats made me feel more of a connection with them.
I mean shelters kill cats too an she probably doesn't know how to use internet to look up shelters that don't kill their animals and Mae would def not do her a favour looking it up for her
To give you a bit of closure: After "Dawn" (who had been renamed "Sunrise" at the end) tried living in the city and made it back to Olive's house, she found it empty because Olive went to the nursing home. The OG Dawn was found there on her own, waiting for Sunrise and led her to the nursing home Olive moved to. There, both the cats were being taken care of, and Sunrise has a new friend in Dawn. A bit unsatisfying after what Olive did, but at least the cats are loved and both get a happy ending.
14:04 Fun fact: a cat can literally survive a high stories of buildings if they can since they understand physics from what I heard, one cat took a 40 story down from a building and only had chip tooth and a puncture lung. But they got to go home 2 days later.

idk if u believe in superstitions, but there's this Japanese superstition about cats. Where if they are missing, you go outside and see roaming cats nearby your area. You feed them and pet them (optional) AND you talk to them (like it's your pet or a person). You tell them that your cat is missing and you tell your missing cat's characteristics and physical appearance or where/when it is last seen. The chances are high that your missing cat may return (w/ or w/o the cats you've talked), but if not, I believe you repeat the first step you did.

Honestly, I can't blame Olive (ok I can) when everyone around her kinda sucks. The nurse didn't question or had a key to the house, the daughter left the cat to fend itself when she went to the hospital- even kick her mom only companion to which she goes to get another one. No one helped Olive help her on taking care or on how to take care of the cat. They were all lonely and saw only themselves, CopyDawn included. At least at the retirement home; Olive, Dawn and Sunrise can finally ease their loneliness and get their needs together :') That's my positive take.
Seeing Jay getting emotional when Olive left Dawn behind and drove off got me f'ed up. This game really shows how attached and bonded a cat can become to a person. How they don't really ever forget them.

Fr, if she wanted a companion, maybe a service dog/cat would've worked better.
My personal ending (the real one) is that the two cats run off together, start adopting strays, and form their own family bc they can’t trust humans anymore

@@aestheticalmess3565 leaving an animal in the middle of nowhere is her fault. being old and ill doesnt excuse her risking an animals life
I feel like this game shows how easily it is to become nurtured , loved , and adored only to be easily replaced.

I'd love to take a stray in but my parents hate cats and my female dogs r not big fans of cats
Literally started to bawl my eyes out, because this hits deep.
I’m not sure why the player or cat can’t find and get their collar back?
FRL!! That was more evil then giving the cat to the shelter where it can at least have food!
People like Mae really ticks me off, and the fact that she did that not telling her mom about it makes it worse
Ye but if it would been taken to the shelter the cycle would repeat?
This is so messed up. There are rescue shelters that will take her. What the actual heck?
I understand she's old and struggling, but there are so many better ways. That poor baby.
Mae didn’t do the right thing by kicking the cat out into the wild (if she wanted to get rid of her, she could’ve taken her back to the adoption center), and I hate to agree with her but … the truth is, her mother really shouldn’t adopt a cat if she can’t take care of it (which one could easily make a strong argument that she clearly medically isn’t capable of; the cat was left alone for days and probably would’ve been alone for a week or more if no one found her owner and she died)
And was Mae about to suffocate her mother with a pillow?? Wtf?!?
Mae is quite possibly one of the shittiest characters I have seen in gaming. Not due to her writing, but got damn she is a shitty person.
She gets it from her mom though. Who is also shitty
I WAS THINKING THAT TOO, LIKE WHY DID SHE GRAB THAT PILLOW SO SUDDENLY???😭
I was thinking the same thing, Idfk why everyone keeps on saying it’s olive’s fault when Mae was the one who threw the cat into the wild, she literally said it herself!
Yes she was about to suffocate her mother, and it was olive that left dawn in the wild not Mae
Mae is literally the villain not Olive.
I hate when people dump a cat outside instead of finding them a new family. They don’t take responsibility for their actions. Like what Olive did to Dawn was terrible. Just trying to fill in a void. So selfish. I’ve had to give a cat back and i would find them a home, not throw them outside.

But maybe that’s bc I have a disabled rescue cat (she used to be stray)

Also i thought for a minute that she actually d1es in that street.. my mind goes oh shit is this a cat sw1c1de game.....
Some facts about cat:
Cat cannot drink regular milk cause they're lactose intolerant since they cannot disgest it properly which will cause vommiting, diarrhea, flatulence( or in other word, farting) and adominal pain.
This methods with take time and patience but it one of a way I like :)
Also fyi I do not own a cat yet since I'm not allowed but I done a lot of research since I hope 1 day I can adopt one(hence the research on how to care for them) or the cat distribution can find me xd Some might incorrect so feel free to correct me😅😅😅
These are all very good tips!
1:34:26 the way I genuinely started crying, BAWLING my EYES out for this FICTIONAL cat, I have such a soft spot for cats

To give you a bit of closure:
After "Dawn" (who had been renamed "Sunrise" at the end) tried living in the city and made it back to Olive's house, she found it empty because Olive went to the nursing home.

You feed them and pet them (optional) AND you talk to them (like it's your pet or a person). You tell them that your cat is missing and you tell your missing cat's characteristics and physical appearance or where/when it is last seen. The chances are high that your missing cat may return (w/ or w/o the cats you've talked), but if not, I believe you repeat the first step you did.
you can also look for animal shelters or impounds, maybe that's where your pet went :'')
@@jeudde Yeah she brought 4 kittens with her when she first came, then later had 6 more kittens before we were able to get her fixed (Those ones were adopted out & we got her fixed after), but I still have the 4 cats from the first litter she brought. I ask them everyday "Where is your mama? Go find your mama." ;;
@@jeudde Yeah I've been looking through the adoptions of the shelters and pounds around here and haven't seen her, so I'm really just hoping someone took her home and she's an indoor cat now somewhere
idk jay you’re the only youtuber that i watch that doesn’t actually feel fake AGH the genuine enjoyment of watching you experience games is unmatched

@@LeeYoung-e9sthey are talking about the game “stray”.. not stray kids..
As a person that has 8 cats. I can confirm that cats don’t do all that
I know my cat never. I feel like dogs so though? Ahaha
the way I went to hug and pet every cat I walk by (and ofc give my cats extra love) after watching this
As soon as the game ended, I immediately went and hugged my cat while bawling my eyes out 😞
honestly as i speak an orange kat that would go on our roof pretend to be stuck by our electric fence by the side of our house and my black kat never left its side we are deciding on adopting it. jay posting this while its happening rn is crazy x
0:15 I’M BUCKLED 🗣️‼️💖
2:49 typical orange cat behavior
Mine will give extra cuddles but when he's throwing a fit he will start to eat carpet, paper basically things he shouldn't and give me the stink eye when I get onto him 😅
olive is the type of person that would only talk to you when their friends are gone but when they comeback she would ignore you
Olive makes me so unbelievably mad. How the hell are you going to adopt a cat, promise them a loving home, and then abandon them in the middle of nowhere in the drop of a hat?? Legit when I see her it's on SIGHT
I like cats
hey me too
Me three :)

"IM THE ONLY ONE GETTING STROKED ON MY COUCH" -Jay, 2024
I recently just adopted a 10 week old kitty, my first ever cat of my own and I’ve never been more thrilled to be a cat dad, a father at 25 haha but man I’ve been excited ever since I first held him, he’s so cuddly and vocal though he does play a little too rough with the biting and scratching but I’m sure it’s because his adult teeth might be coming in- ah got too off track, I just wanted to say that it brings such warmth to see Jay playing another cat game 🥹🥹
It was such a joy to watch this video from you Jay, one of my favorite things you do is story based games. You are right, this was an emotional roller coaster and I cried several times, as well as got angry and happy with good feels. I wish so many animals lives didn’t have to be this way!!
can confirm my cats used to just grab food off the counter and run 😭 nothing was safe
STAN TXT
Aw man, I just remembered my cat kali that have gotten lost a few months from now. Ngl, this made me cry and miss her even more 🥲
Is this made by the same people or inspired by that one Eldith Finch family or something game where everyone dies in odd ways? This is just so similar to it in a way with messages popping up, font, and the imagination stuff...
i thought it looked really similar too!
I love What Remains of Edith Finch. Still is my favorite day today
This video generally made me cry. It makes me think of all the poor furbabies that want/need a home. Im so glad i saved and adopted my baby Ace. She will forever be cherished and loved. When i first looked for a kitty i noticed nobody wanted Ace. They passed by and ignored her, it broke my heart and made me want to get her more im so glad i did ❤❤🥹🥹
I’m gonna rip my hair out this made me sob, olive.. when I catch you olive. Don’t even think mae is safe. ☹️
Tell me why I was like "tell your baby I'M YOUR BABY!" when olive didn't take the cat were playing as in I was so upset
"You have so much attitude it makes me want to have attitude" Kubz scouts literally has the same mindset as my mom! 🗣🔥🔥
Hi Jay! I've been watching you're videos for a while now, i'm still I child, and my parents don't really like it when I watch you, but I always check you're channel to see if you posted. And when you don't I always watch you're old videos or you're previous ones. You always put a smile on my face, and always makes me laugh, my day became better when I saw you posted today and an immediate smile appeared! I hope you're doing great today! ❤️
Olive is literally a victim in all of this like I knew Mae was the issue the moment Olive started ignoring her phone calls.
Seeing Jay getting emotional when Olive left Dawn behind and drove off got me f'ed up. This game really shows how attached and bonded a cat can become to a person. How they don't really ever forget them.
