I never heard of the word Millennium before until someone told me what it meant because around that time, I kept hearing that word all the time and I only knew century or decade only. Also the last official year of the 20th century was the year 2000 not 1999.
I was 9 years old, when we transitioned from the 20th Century into the 21st Century.
Actually 2001 is the start of the 21st century. Many people and some of the country's largest media outlets get this wrong constantly.
Hard to believe this was almost a quarter of a century ago.
