Thanks for the shout-out man! But now I'm gonna be expected to put posts out more regularly 😅😅 A little background on the knife for whoever's lucky enough to win her. I got it directly from CRKT's website for $325 (I think) and sent the knife to Metal Complex with the original box it came in. I used the knife in my job as a mechanic, no abuse though. I decided to put my own edge on it with my Lansky Diamond stones to practice on higher end steels. I ended up with a decent 20° edge finished with the fine diamond then the sapphire stone, dropped with green compound. I decided to give the knife away because I just didn't find myself carrying it a lot. I thought about selling it, but then decided I wanted to help out the community and sent it here!
I just love the look of this knife. I've been eyeing up the aluminum version with the Aus 8 steel for a while now. Always something comes up to prevent that from happening. That little star......just awesome! I feel the need to make the star shiny though. Needs to be polished!!! Being LE and having military in the family probably adds to the reason I want it so much. I probably wouldn't make this beauty my "outdoor" knife. Probably more of a going out to dinner knife. Thoroughly enjoyed your review.
Little off topic, thanks for the amazing reviews with such a wide selection of knifes. You are basically the reason I got a Doug Ritter Hogue griptilian.
That knife is sweet looking, who ever wins it is lucky. Digital-guttersnipe I think its awesome that you donated it to Metal Complex to help out the channel. I have just started to get into collecting knives and I have learned a lot from Metal's channel. I would love to see Metal and Slicey Dicey do a video together. They are both becoming the best knife channels on TH-cam.
CRKT doesn't get enough credit for how innovative they are. Every year it seems like they come out with a knife that is inherently different from all the rest. Sometimes it's a novelty change like the CRKT Provoke and other times its something that could be a game changer like with the Homefront. The Homefront's main appeal is how quick and simple it is to disassemble and how you don't even need tools on hand to take it apart. It's something that was designed for extended wilderness forays where you only carry what you need and this knife allows you the liberty to leave your wiha bit screw drivers at home and not sacrifice anything by doing so. I've watched multiple reviews of this knife in the past and the main critique seems to be the recurve in the blade. Recurve blades are tricky to sharpen and is a turn off to the intended demographic of minimalist hikers/campers. It does come in a tanto profile but wharncliffe or sheepsfoot blade may have been the best option to have used. I would imagine that CRKT has the disassembly mechanism patented which means they have sole ownership of this feature. I would hope that they make more models that incorporate this feature into the design before that patent runs out. Its arguably the best thing CRKT has come up with over the years and seeing more of it would not be a bad thing at all!
"Not a company on par with other companies" is the most polite way I've heard CRKT accurately described... that was poetry... now do Gerber and ZT!!! 😁
I have been wanting a Homefront for a while. But as a budget knife enthusiast, it’s a bit out of my price range. This one is awesome! I can’t wait for the opportunity to win this. I don’t own any titanium knives yet nor do I have an M390 blade yet. My best knife is 14c28n so far. The only thing I wish they would have upgraded this model with is IKBS bearings. I get the logic though why it doesn’t as a standard, but this one would have been cool on bearings.
At the price! It would have been nice for bearings and milled titanium pocket clip. Whoever aged the black coating was a genius, much more desirable without the black.
MC, I have a CRKT ruger hollow point, it has an almost four inch blade, the bladeflips fantastic, the drop is crazy good the sound of both flipping out an dropping shut, is one of the best, you should try one some time, in my opinion its one of the most underrated knives out there, its thin great carry, an runs on bearings. Thanks for what you do man, I envy you an all the killer blades that come to you, your the pid piper of knives bro!
Knight lets say were both right, it is a CRKTknife callet the ruger hollowpoint, a design bye Ken Onion, an as a matter of fact it is a hollow grind blade too!😳
I've been a big fan of the home front for a long time. Field strip is such a great thing especially for people who work in dirty jobs like i do. Just hated the blade steel. This solves that but that price hurts! @Digital_Guttersnipe you're the man, I'm hoping i win this 🙏
If brands are going to put information on the blades, put it in the handles, out of sight out of mind. We know what it is that is all that matters. Yet another reason why Grimsmo (I hope I spelled that right) is awesome. Logo and information on the inside... Grail knives right there. One thing that really bothers me about the knife is the nylon washers... What the hell? Phosphor bronze should have been used.
Use Tuff Glide to lube it. As it breaks in it should become rather drop shutty.. I use it on my Byrd and M16, M21 knives with nylon washers and they became very drop shutty .
Why didn’t you just take it apart to take a look at the washers? Probably woulda been quicker lol. Also, I wish they would make one of these titanium take down knives under 3in so I could carry one
There’s a fine line between innovation and gimmick, and CRKT spends most of their time on the wrong side of that line. Even when the design or idea IS truly innovative, they never fail to bitch it spectacularly in execution and quality control. And then they slap a price tag on it that is so far removed from reality that it makes it clear that CRKT is more a pointless thought experiment and less an actual company.

You are awesome! Gonna check you out!
This is what the original Homefront always wanted to be
When I look at a blade, I expect it to regale me with tales of its life story on one side and hopes and dreams on the other
That was beautiful

It is a unique way to take it apart. Very nice of DG!
I have the G10/D2/liner lock version. Been using it for daily work for 2+ years. Re-edged 2x after hard use. A lot of knife for $45 delivered.
Where did you get that version for $45?

That’s one knife that really deserves US manufacture, no recurve, and a hollow grind.

I actually love that dissasambly mech. Looks like a great edc

CRKT Homefront Titanium. Nice knife: It Is. Worth $295: It Is Not!

Is that "Hollow Point" or "Hollow Grind"? Cause if it's "Hollow Point", it's Gun Ammo.

I have the CRKT Xoc and my next knife is the crossbones so I guess I’m collecting their most expensive knives
Did something happen with the other channel silent complex cause there hasn’t been an upload on it for a little while
