- Big Ben AA wore down Fleet De Sand to win the inaugural $40,000 Arabian Claiming Championship over 7 furlongs at Lone Star Park on November 20. It was the 6th win and 22nd top-three finish in 26 career starts for the consistent 6-year-old bay stallion sired by Burning Sand out of Tri Spring Proof. Big Ben AA was bred by Allegro Arabians and is owned by Darolyn Butler, trained by Roberto Madrigal, and ridden by Victor Urieta Jr.
